These devs make such interesting games. They're covered in crust and shit, but underneath there really is something special, and the determination and drive is very evident. These games are all heart, and that's respectable in its own right.
Real talk, this was prior to Mdickie's expansion to mobile and steam, back in these games you could download the games off his website or you could buy a whole boxset of the games with various additions

Mat Dickie does literally everything by himself. He admits this is why the art is garbage, but he's an absolute nutcase of a man. He's not *terrible* but he's definitely not good. I can at least say I've never been bored by one of his games, aside from when they're pure management sims. Then it's just too damn light on content. Mat's problem tends to be that he wants to integrate all these fantastical ideas in his games, but they're almost all absolute random chance with no way of triggering these things on your own.
Anyone know how to get these games to run on Windows 10?
@@TheMasterpiecePD No sarcasm here, but I'd recommend you google that. Odds are somebody has figured out a way.
@@roberte2945 I just download them from MDickie's website and run them in compatibility mode for Windows XP I think. It will run slowly at first, but if you run Ctrl Alt Delete and then click on the window again, for some reason the speed will be what it's supposed to be.

When I first saw this I though MDickie games just had really difficult combat, but after having played Wrestling Empire myself I realized Joel was just surprisingly shit at it. He's as good as someone who's never played a videogame before.

To his credit, the game doesn't teach you the controls if any. The only thing that tells you what does what is the bindings menu and a stapled .txt file.
