This sounds like.. Music I would listen to when I was a baby, in my crib, trying to sleep. Scared of demons that could get me, focusing on the street light outside the window. Wondering very deep things such as.. Why are there tiny dots in my vision? When I look at the street light, why does it stretch? When I squint my eyes, why does it stretch more? These are real things I would wonder as a baby. Sleep was extremely hard. And when I would finally fall asleep, I'd have the worst nightmares ever. Very gorey and horrifying.
As you get older your perception of time slows down. Listening to old game music from my younger years slowed down by about 5-10% makes it sound more like I "remember" it.... Time can be cruel.
I always loved when the drums rolled in, it gives you a sense of hope almost, realising the danger of this, Peach could be lost forever, but Mario is doing something, he's making his way to her, and he will defeat bowser.
