What I like most, other than the beautiful playing, is that Natalie doesn't seem at all like the overly trained (and disciplined) kids who are robotically virtuosic. She seems to take real delight in making this music while remaining fully human. Go, Natalie!!

Bob H. - I guess you don't play an instrument. If you did, you'd know that you can't be "overly trained." Natalie's beautiful playing is there result of years of disciplined training which is the only way to achieve the kind of natural ease that I think you correctly identify in her playing. This doesn't just happen, it requires a lot of painstaking work, on top of natural talent. Nobody likes robotic playing, but it's lack of talent that causes it, not overtraining.

Only from popular culture do we know this as 12 variations on Twinkle Twinkle little star, actually the tune originates from a French folk song called "Ah! vous dirai je maman" which forms the first line of the tune, if you count the syllables. This is the version Mozart would have known and would have based the piece on. The song is about wanting sweeties/candy. The first line: Ah! vous dirai je maman means "Ah, I tell you, mom.". The tune was later used for many childrens' songs, including Twinkle Twinkle little star and the alphabet song.

My technique and playing style has become way more polished than befaure and it is really easy for my hands to coordinate together now, even i f each hand has a different melody.
I swear those exams and the way my teachers taught them to me made me worse than improving my piano skills.

Actually, it is a sad piece, not a happy one. When living in a small room in Paris with his mom who was sick badly, Mozart without any jobs and didn't know what to do, so he played this song to his mom to express his wish to say something to her. Therefore, the best name of this song in English should be 'Ah! Would I tell you, Mum'.

I've watched this video about ten times and each time I find more to like. I love when she unfolds like a flower as she plays a crescendo passage. I thought she was 14 when she made this video (her current age) but was stunned when I went back to check the RUclips page that she was only 11! Obviously, this is not Prokofiev's Third piano concerto, but she does what you should do with every piece of music, whether simple or complex which is to pay attention to every note and play musically no matter what the piece. I predict she will one of the world's great pianists in years to come.

I think this was the genius of Mozart. His ability to create musical pieces is so many different variations. Most people would be content to get one version down on paper. However, it appears his imagination was rarely content with the simple, the easy, the expected. Truly a creative musical genius.

Hello! You really don't know but I`ve heard Variation 11 many times, looking for the person who plays this as it should be felt; and your performance is simply the best I`ve heard. It's not only the way it sounds but also the way I can see you felt it.
