Natalie's beautiful playing is there result of years of disciplined training which is the only way to achieve the kind of natural ease that I think you correctly identify in her playing. This doesn't just happen, it requires a lot of painstaking work, on top of natural talent. Nobody likes robotic playing, but it's lack of talent that causes it, not overtraining.

This is the version Mozart would have known and would have based the piece on. The song is about wanting sweeties/candy. The first line: Ah! vous dirai je maman means "Ah, I tell you, mom.". The tune was later used for many childrens' songs, including Twinkle Twinkle little star and the alphabet song.
I used to say the same thing when i was doing my abrsm piano exams. After i stopped piano lessons i actually found out that i play a lot more piano and a different variety of it too. My technique and playing style has become way more polished than befaure and it is really easy for my hands to coordinate together now, even i f each hand has a different melody. I swear those exams and the way my teachers taught them to me made me worse than improving my piano skills. ; )

When living in a small room in Paris with his mom who was sick badly, Mozart without any jobs and didn't know what to do, so he played this song to his mom to express his wish to say something to her. I've watched this video about ten times and each time I find more to like. I love when she unfolds like a flower as she plays a crescendo passage. I thought she was 14 when she made this video (her current age) but was stunned when I went back to check the RUclips page that she was only 11! Obviously, this is not Prokofiev's Third piano concerto, but she does what you should do with every piece of music, whether simple or complex which is to pay attention to every note and play musically no matter what the piece. I predict she will one of the world's great pianists in years to come.
I think this was the genius of Mozart. His ability to create musical pieces is so many different variations. Most people would be content to get one version down on paper. However, it appears his imagination was rarely content with the simple, the easy, the expected. Truly a creative musical genius.
As a kid, I loved this song so much. Just a simple tune for kids, and now that I've found Mozart's version I still love it. Playing the piano is what makes me happiest, and seeing Natalie play really inspired me to practice and learn this song, despite my fingers probably falling off in the process. Thank you for this!

She has ridiculously good touch for her age, heck, for any age. It's so rare to see a girl/woman utilizing the Gillels arm weight approach. Bravo!

Bravo! What a brilliant performance. I can’t believe natalie playing this as a 11 year old young girl. I’m just 12 turning 13 next year 2025 and I still haven’t practice this.. however, Natalie is so good. I’m very proud. She might be a professional pianist.
