I never had any intention of buying mat’s programming- but this makes me want to! thanks for the in depth look at HWPO!! He should talk about himself more- I didn’t realize how in depth and how much programming it came with.

Thanks for the review! You convinced me to start with HWPO over AthleanX.

I'm about eight months late to the party, but this is super helpful. I think I'm ready to invest in some high-quality programming and I've been back and forth between Mayhem and HWPO.
Also, you have a sick backyard. I need to get a situation like that.

I use PRVN masters and I would use the same description as yourself and describe it as not sexy, to the outsider it may be seen as boring but I do like the volume, the process and the journey. It's definitely challenging but I do feel they cover all lifting which has been missing on other programs.

So how do you like prvn vs hwpo? Whats the difference?

I don’t see in the notes where you can find substitutes for movement and equipment

I’m not even joking, they went radio silent for two weeks and then out right deleted the discord chat for the pro track. I’ve never seen anything like this

I’ve been on HWPO pro now Hybrid Wod Pro and they literally went MIA during quarterfinals. Like wtf. I feel like I’ve been sold the image of Matt and then he ghosted

HWPO separated from Hybrid months ago. It’s called Ethos now. Maybe that’s the issue.

The programming does get more sexy as the weeks progress (currently on day 168), but the first cycle of base building is humbling and very much needed. Digging the well is an apt analogy, you’ll hit a workout and surprise yourself when say, lots of unbroken wall-balls feel effortless or you can cycle sandbag cleans like butter. Doesn’t mean that the work gets any easier, but I’ve blown through all but 1 of my 1RMs since starting, and noticed that I’m hitting workouts as prescribed a lot more often than not.

As a master athlete the recovery and other factors have to be consider.
I'm 47 and I been doing CrossFit for the last 12 years and there aren't a lot of coaches or programming for this group, that understand the volume, diet, recovery and all other factors required.
