I live 15 miles north of the Florida line and about 3 years ago orderd 1 goji berry plant from Willisorchards.com and from that 1 plant I have propagated several more , they are easy to grow. You need a fence so I put mine in front of the chicken pen and after the shoots get long enough I wrap them in the wire, the chickens love them! I have been just eating them raw and mixing them in my breakfast veggies but am getting to the point where I have more than I know what to do with! Thanks for the advice on the juice!
If you do have an abundance you may want to consider getting a food dehydrator and drying them out and then sealing them in a vacuum seal container or bag.
I just recently found out about the benefits of this little Berry and was very curious on how to make it into a juice. Nicely done! Being that you had said that a little citrus with the goji me enhance the flavor I can think of another tea that may go very well with goni. I'm going to look into adding some hibiscus to the mix after making the juice. I know that hibiscus tea goes very well with citrus fruits so it should be a welcome addition to the goji juice, not to mention enhancing the vitamins and other health benefits. Thanks for this wonderful lesson. Blessings and good health to you‼️
im glad i watched this video, cuz i went to the mall with my mother to a health drink spot and she got the acai smoothie and i got the Goji juice but i was disappointed because when i got it i seen it was orange and not red. so this video confirmed that it comes out in different colors. thanks.
you can absolutely grow them where you live. I am in Canada so is sligtly different. Up here they need to go through freezing before germinating. Probably not something that would happen in Cali, so must be a different variety. There are wild goji that grow in eastern Cali and Az
good question. I've never seen a study on it nor heard of toxic effects. Some are sensitive to goji as it is in the nightshade family. As with any herb good to explore what works for you as it is always individual.
depends on how strong you want it. I'll usually do about a 2:1 ratio. So twice as much water to goji, but certainly you could add more water like 3 or 4 :1
Love a man being natural in the kitchen.
right on!

No problem :)
How do you germinate/grow them? And what is your region, could they grow well in California for example, or somewhere else?

@@thelightcellar appreciate the info
Do you soak them in the fridge?
you can, especially if soaking for couple of days, but you don't have to and you can simply soak overnight on the counter
Ty for this video. How much goji tea is safe to consume a day,
good question. I've never seen a study on it nor heard of toxic effects. Some are sensitive to goji as it is in the nightshade family. As with any herb good to explore what works for you as it is always individual.
Is it necessary to strain it? Can we eat the pulp?
No you don't have to strain - some just like to strain because otherwise it will be quite seedy! And yes of course you can eat the pulp!! :D
Thanks. I just consume the whole thing and don't strain it. It taste equally bad but I know it's good for you.
Sv?
ratio of water to goji ?
depends on how strong you want it. I'll usually do about a 2:1 ratio. So twice as much water to goji, but certainly you could add more water like 3 or 4 :1
