I watched this on TV. The sell for the cobra was brilliant. Santino, one of my favourite wrestlers allowed to enjoy himself and have fun in the ring with the boys(and girls. I remember the Sista)
I always find myself fascinated by the people behind the more eccentric type of characters in pro wrestling. They are almost always seem to be the perfect example of why you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. For example, take a flamboyant character like Goldust. It's almost shocking when u see Dustin Rhodes being himself for the first time. He's nothing like Goldust. It's the same for Santino, you see Anthony Carelli the first time and not only are you surprised that he doesn't have an Italian accent. He also is is an elite athlete and world-class judo champion.
I am glad, with his finishing move, that only one person ever kicked out of it. Daniel Bryan, I believe, was wrestling for his little friend who had cancer. Probably, looking for a miracle finish for that little boy.
These little clips of Santino, i have so much genuine love for the guy now as someone who didn't grow up with him. I might have to go back and watch some. Anyone got any highlight recommendations i should check out?
@@CVVCLIPS I downloaded it yesterday as soon as it came out! Santino has always been one of my favourite! Thank you so much for this amazing interview Chris!
I was about to say getting banned in grade school is 💯 a sign that you’ve made it; back in my day nWo Wolfpac hand sign (now known as too sweet) was also a banned, it got out that it was a gang sign in europe (in reality it wasn’t a gang or mafia as Nash stated in the past, it was for the grey wolves which was a fascist paramilitary organization that started in the late 60’s… it’s banned in Austria and there’s legislation to ban it in Germany not sure if that ever passed, hopefully it doesn’t get to a point where it’s canceled and guys aren’t allowed to do it anymore… it clearly doesn’t mean the same things in the wrestling world.
I remember when me and my dad went to Mania 31 and while they were still getting some stuff set up, Santino walks out into the area off the side of the stage we were sitting at. Everyone in our seating area sees him, starts chanting “Cobra! Cobra! Cobra!” And he does it and chases down one of the production staff 😂
That one time where he hit the cobra on Jack swagger on Raw in 2011 fueled by a special magic energy drink concucted by the muppets truly upheld the legitemacy of the business and probably made Jim cornette very proud. Actually if ever there was a way to respectfully end Undertaker's streak at Wrestlemania in a belivable way, that magic muppets drink followed by a deadly green snake sock covered cobra strike would have been the right way to do it.
@@wally4087 I’m not sure. I think it would bring out a huge reaction if a serious wrestler would do it too. Imagine the taker.😂 or Roman reigns with a Superman Kobra. People would go crazy. Everyone would know what it was and where it came from. If would be a huge prank. And wrestlemania is on April first this year.
Funny hearing about the banned moves/stuff at school. Ours was the RKO outta no where (when the meme flew off), we did it and recorded for a funny (yes it hurts on the grass lmao) but one dude in a year below ruined it for everyone by doing on a big unit that wasn't expecting it and then yeah, from then on straight banned lol
He was a very entertaining character. He should not have held so many Titles. He devalued those Belts. When you think of great IC and US Champions Santino is a blemish.

JTG selling that cobra was one of the greatest sells in pro wrestling history!
Oh hi mark

To bad he got in trouble for selling it too good

The cobra vs Mr. Socko was the best lol
Yeah... 🤣
Yes it was.😂😂😂😂😂😂
When you're getting kids in school in trouble with your bonkers ass finisher, you've made it 😂

Santino is the funniest wrestler of all time , hands down ! His rumble elimination makes me laugh uncontrollably every single time lol
That Rumble elimination shouldn't have counted. He wasn't ready!

Where he debuted is one because he was introduced as a fan I'm sure, and him doing the coba against JTG because the sell was great 👍
There is a compilation of Santino that I love to watch where he pronounces different wrestlers' name wrong. "You have a big mouth John Chena!"
"Oh, it's just a funny thing he does"
"Oh, you mean it's a funny thing that *I* does"
Man I miss him in wwe sad they let him go he was comedy gold
i be forgetting at one point the cobra was protected more than the tombstone…if he hit that shit you were not getting up for the kickout
Can’t wait for the full interview 🙌
It’s up on my main channel 👍

The Stone Cold Stunner got banned in my day… we would all stun each other out of no where 🤣😂
Listen to podcast, watch podcast clips. Still entertained

I thought Jon Lovitz taught it to Santino Marella when he was the guess RAW host.

A prowrestler makes it when his signature move or phrase has to be banned from school yards😱

Wrestling is funny in the things that get over 😜
I always thought the cobra was from the French film Taxi 2
It’s called entertainment
He’s got enough buttons on that shirt to fill up a jar at a flea market
Wonder if Santino would be upset if another wrestler "used/stole" the cobra
Why would he? The Cobra is the same as Mr Sock from Mankind lol

Mr Socko was originally a dirty sock Foley would pull out of his pants and jam into someone’s mouth. Later on they turned it into a puppet.

I wonder how his Twin Sister Santina is doing?
JTG
Jesus I could barely hear him
This clip should’ve been Santino saying, “Well, I saw Mick Foley on TV …”
who thought this was funny? worst period in wwe.
He was a very entertaining character. He should not have held so many Titles. He devalued those Belts. When you think of great IC and US Champions Santino is a blemish.
I think you take the business a bit too seriously.
They weren’t doing anything with midcard titles back then. If anything, Santino elevated them because he was over.
The one title he shouldn't have held is the Divas championship. Santina was embarrassing…
I wish he was around with Norman Smiley, would have been hilarious.
