Sir, I have driven more than 10 times through the Dhimbam ghat/satyamangalam, with the majority being in the night. Through personal exprience, I can assure you that you are absolutely right in the first two points which you have made. But, you are wrong in your third point. The uploader of the video/driver was absolutely right in his decision to wait on the wrong side of the road at the hairpin bends. This helps HGV's/Buses to tackle the hairpin bend in an easier way and reduces the angle at which they have to 'cut' to make the turn.
