    I messed up my hand so I relate to you on this issue. It was really bad at first but I eventually got used to it. This was really good to hear that somebody else has this kind of issue.

    Normally I play PVE for Destiny, so keyboard was generally the way to go due to my thinking being, "ooohhhh controller is for pvp!!!!1!" but after New Territory got released I started playing PvP and I realized that it didn't really matter what you used

    I use KBM + Controller so whenever I have to use my Xbox or PS5 for any game, I can easily fit back into it and enjoy my time instead of struggling with certain controls. For me personally KBM is a lot easier to handle and a lot less weird to feel and use. Controller grips just don't fit into my hand correctly, so keyboard is my way to go! :D

  • @mizanmizzy

    I switched over to controller from KBM a few years back just to have a “relaxed” gaming experience after a long day of work and for some unknown reason, I never played on KBM again. Maybe because all of the games I play has controller support and I can just lean back and game comfortably. Who knows next time I might use a dance mat to play Elden Ring just for something different!

    I have found myself experiencing the opposite surprisingly. I used to primarily play games with a controller but as time passed and i started using keyboard and mouse i noticed a much easier feel of control over small movements which help me a lot.

    Started on controller, switched to mnk and recently switched back. Paddles on controller have made a world of different. I feel more relaxed playing and can do almost anything I would have on mnk with the right adjustments.

    Back whenever Last Word got it's massive PC nerf, I tried swapping over to controller due to what I heard about it's capabilities with sniping, and I fell in love as a PvP player with it since then. Both input devices have their merits! I actively do PvE to keep my keyboard and mouse skills up, while also doing PvP on controller to ensure neither get rusty! It's been good to train both input options.

  • @jonk4499
    @jonk4499 12 дней назад +2

    AA on controller much better for snipes and certain weapons but if you want a more movement based gameplay then kbm would probably be better for flicks and generally being able to make close up shots a lot easier. Shotties in particular as a lot easier to flick left on someone close

    I used to play competitive COD on controller and play scrims and I was actually doing well and at some point played in some lobbies with pros but then when school picked up I stopped playing completely and my friends were all PC players so I switched and never looked back. When I tried to go back to controller for some random scrims one day I was complete trash so now I can only play Elden ring and mortal kombat and play everything else with a MNK. Maybe if I practice long enough I can get it back but sadly I am probably washed. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

    I've been replaying Hades recently (the first one, before 2 came around) and realized that i actually swap input methods for different weapons. Apparently it's "cursed", both inputs are fine, but people tend to stick with a single one. For Destiny thou, i use keyboard and mouse exclusively

  • @manughost2002

    I usually play single player games with controller, meanwhile use MK for FPS, but I play destiny with controller, because I started from the first chapter on xbox 360 and now for 10+ years I have more confidence with the gamepad rather than MK of course

  • @edgyazazel3824
    @edgyazazel3824 13 дней назад +1

    As a player with a good spread between both input methods I would definitely agree with the inability to properly track close up targets. As for having better game sense, I really feel like a controller gets me dialed into the game more. It just feels more fluid especially at those perfect mid range engagements. I will always prefer that ability to snap with my mouse though :) Hope that hand heals!

    i had to start using my controller cause my mouse is a little busted and i cant afford a new one right now, and ive actually been enjoying it quite a bit. leaning back in my chair and playing in a more relaxed way has been super nice

    I switch between the two! I don’t know if I am “better” with one though. It is just different. Pros and cons with both. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity and your thoughts on input style!

  • @jfoster500
    @jfoster500 12 дней назад +1

    I'd say that controller can make engagements much easier at mid to long range over mouse and keyboard. But to me I feel like I have no control over a close up fight because it takes way too long to look around. Another thing that makes me think that controller is kinda worse aswell is sliding and jumping, having to take my thumb off the stick to slide or jump is so annoying and means I can't aim as easily.

  • @el_pawel
    @el_pawel 11 дней назад +1

    I like the idea of playing on opposite input of choice, just to hone your abilities and work on different aspects on the game. Work on positioning, engagement distance, ability usage. Get in the mindset of improving and getting better.
    Might very much try controller myself.

  • @wayne7135

    this is the second video ive seen today that can be summerised as "i used a controller and had more fun on a videogame" and for the record i use both imputs on destiny. controllers make games feel more casual imo because your focusing less on imputs and more on the game, the AA takes away alot of stress as its so forgiving.

    • @paragon5186
      @paragon5186  12 дней назад

      I wouldn’t say more fun. I just think crucible was easier because of the crutch aim assist. Every other part of the game was miserable since I couldn’t play the way I’m used to

    • @wayne7135
      @wayne7135 11 дней назад

      @paragon5186 so you're not happy that AA made the game easy, but hated that it was easier? So, by my understanding, you enjoy it more when you have to put more effort in for the same result. I really don't understand controller rants

    • @paragon5186
      @paragon5186  11 дней назад

      @@wayne7135 Crucible was easier when using automatics and burst weapons. everything else was harder. Aim assist works its intended for controller player.
      its not a rant, there were strengths there were weaknesses. i dont like how strong the AA was but i understand the need for it. Once my hand is healed i will be switching back full time to M&K

  • @petrusalecrim2956
    @petrusalecrim2956 8 дней назад +1

    I have always liked M&K for the freedom of movement and being able to map the keys to whatever i want; i have big hands so having the keys spaced out feels more comfortable considering the amount of actions we can perform. Maybe i would switch to controller if we get a gamemode focused on vehicle combat someday (be it tanks or spaceships) just because there would be less inputs to worry about and vehicle movement feels more intuitive with a stick for me (i might have over 8000 hours of need for speed and ace combat playtime, all on controller).

    I have tried using a controller with Destiny 2 but i just can't have fun because of how slow i turn vs being able to quickly do a 180 with a mouse, plus i prefer having the ability to have custom keybinds.

    I use only MnK for Destiny simply because I have never owned Playstation or Xbox. The first time I got controller in my hands actually was when SEGA launched Yakuza 0 in steam. I thought I ought to play it on controller so I just bought one for my PC. I cherish this experience :)
    Completely agree with superior aim assist in Destiny though. When I watch my fav Destiny streamer he is rolling over crucible lobbies on controller, but his results on PC are not so glorious :D

I definitely think it depends on preference but for me i have an easier time playing with controller on most games but there are some others that I have an easier time playing with on kbm. Ultimately I prefer controller in the end but i don't mind playing with kbm either.

    I play games on a nicer than average laptop that I bought for hobbyist coding. The first game I bought for pc was monster hunter world, which didn't work well with the normal mouse I had, so I looked for and bought a not normal mouse.
    The mouse I have has 3 main buttons instead of the usual 2 (pointer, middle, ring), 5 spine buttons instead of the usual 1(scroll wheel), and 12 buttons on the side instead of the usual 0. Currently for shooters (like destiny) I have weapon swaps on the spine buttons, crouch/slide on my ring finger, and abilities on the side buttons. I like having my left hand only doing movement and my right hand doing everything else.
    I have played some controller but never really liked it. Even with the AA I prefer the feel of KBM, its much more click clacky
