I'm a pro, but I still tune in to your stuff to get clued in quickly. What used to take a week of listening to albums over and over to learn a set can now be done in 30 minutes thanks to people like you. You are definitely better than most on line instructors... sending lots of students your way!
You are the best song teacher on RUclips. Your versions sound so much more like the original songs because of your embellishments. Keep up the great work!
What an absolute pleasure your videos are. Lived in Kitchener/Waterloo, Southern Ontario, in 1998 from Oct to Dec 12, working for Rogers Community TV on an overseas program, I'm from Ireland, and to this day and since, I remember coming home from those 2months with the opinion that Canadians were the most hospitable people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, and I met a lot in those 2 months. And you Sir are a shining example of that realisation, Your demeanor and attitude is a joy to watch. Peace and Love from Ireland my guitar friend
A big thank you for that. What a lovely comment to wake up to here today. My best to you and I really appreciate your encouragement. I hope your guitar journey is going well and that you're having a ton of fun with it. Cheers! Shane
Feels like I'm finally getting somewhere. I saw this vid a couple weeks ago and this 55yo beginner is sloppy strumming at 143bpm through the intro, verse and chorus. And I can hear & feel the music. TY .. I'm going to continue going through your online lessons for sure. Hope to eventually join your site and have access to the rest of the knowledge that has gotten me this far.
Nice. On „down“ in „let me down…“, I like to start with a B and then switch to B7 (both as bar chords on 2nd fret). I feel that mirrors something in the original - maybe the bass or the guitars or even the vocal harmonies, hard to say. But without that feeling of tension and resolution, something is missing.
Shane - this lesson , as well as all your others, are just the very best!!!! I even bought a beat buddy just because of you - and it is fabulous too - just want to say thanks so much!
That was a terrific lesson of a classic Eagles tune Shane! I never knew that they did not write that song. I saw them in concert three times. Definitely one of the greatest bands that I have ever seen live. In fact, at one of the concerts here in CT, I got to work with the band as one of the docs prior to their performance. Glenn was one of the nicest guys that you could ever meet. To me, the band is not the same without Glenn. Anyway, hope that you are doing well & staying safe! Cheers...... 👍👍🎸🎸😉😉
How did you get the Eagles to approve this? They are notorious for not allowing your music to go out of their control. Congratulations. It’s a great song.
One of my favourite songs from the Eagles, can’t wait to get going on it. Had kinda put the guitar away for almost a year and a half for various reasons but ready to give it a go again. Congrats on the 100k subs, you deserve every one and more.
I played it and sing it on RUclips many years ago. I used a capo on the second fret and used the chords D A G and E7. But need to try it this way. I love that guitar you have the Taylor model I’ve always wanted to Taylor myself. Taylor’s are really cool guitars
Thank you Billy - it's such a great song and I hope you have fun doing it without the capo - it's a bit more authentic and will be a 'bigger' sound with the Low E string banging away. Best to you and thanks for being here, Shane
Thank you Russ! You've been here for a long while and I am very appreciative. I always welcome and enjoy your feedback and you've definitely helped me a time or two with my adjustment to Patreon etc. My best to you and thanks!!! Shane

Love the lesson Shane, thank you. Could you please be a poppet and tell me the BeatBuddy settings? I’ve just bought one following your recommendation and like you, love it.
Thank you Johnny - you're hilarious! I really appreciate you and Kath making the drive....I really enjoyed our time together and this guitar is super. Best to you lad and lassie! Shane
I love this song and just subscribed. Going to follow your teaching hear to learn the chord progression the right way. Thank you... P.S. I discovered that F#m7th/E a while back when I tuned my guitar to an open E. I forgot that the tuning wasn't standard and fretted an E on top of the E tuning and got the same notes in the "Stretch" when back to standard tuning. It's put to good use in this song. Thanks again... Frank

You're a very good teacher. I have a Beat Buddy but seldom use it cuz every time I try to use a drum beat, it just doesn't seem to fit. Could you let us know what beat you are using for your songs? I know it will help me. Thanks
Sure thing Richard - great suggestion indeed. I can’t remember the pattern for this song offhand at the moment but I may have mentioned it in the video - sorry can’t recall. Cheers, Shane
its a goos video, but for someone that might still be learning you might want to move the camera the hand that is actually making the chords, because at the angle you are at it can be really easy to miss what you are doing. This especially true for the fm7/e

I would be interested to know the feedback from others if the instruction for strumming with the “down up down up down up down up up” is really useful. I consider myself an intermediate player and I used to spend a lot of time practicing strums, some that I made up, some that I copied. I agree, the up/down stuff loses me… I just go by ear and by feel!
