Congratulations ! You are definitely in Black ear country, BIG. Black Bear country ! Morrison Run and Rimrock area are my hunting/camping grounds, I never use those trails. I've heard from reputable sources thats where boaters and hikers "party" on the major holiday weekends. For a change of scenery you might try "The North Country Trail" from"Red Bridge" on Rt 321 up to the trail head on Rt 59. You'll pass my favorite spots shortly before the trail head. Goo9d luck !
I hiked it too ! Camped at the same site you stopped at for a few days. If you walk out of that site go left and there is vault bathroom and near that is a tube that has campsite envelopes to fill out and put the money in each site has a number on a small sign just outside each site .
Thanks buddy! I'll have my recent WV trip video up soon. Haven't had as much time to spend on editing it as I'd like so I'm a little behind at the moment.
Thanks buddy! I was actually back there twice this year. Two weekends in a row actually. Lol. I went back and hiked the entire Rimrock/Morrison loop solo abd then went back the following weekend with my son and our pup and did an overnight. Allegheny is beautiful! Just haven't been recording much but still getting out there.
Well what a great forest loved the video pal really nice to walk with you the music fitted so well and the camp site looked very peaceful love the videos you post thanks for sharing A.t.b Andrew
Broke in to backpacking the same way. $30 used pack. $25 tent. And a hand me down sleeping bag. I now have gear that rivals a thru hiker... but owe it all to my cheap start. Great video man.
Thanks brother! I still can't get over how awesome those trails are for such a short loop. Morrison in ANF and Lake Vesuvius here in Ohio's WNF are my favorite spots for an overnight without a doubt.
My fiance and I went on the shortest path to the Morrison campgrounds and spent a night there. We definitely felt watched. Not in a creepy way, but I was aware of it and asked her how she felt and before I could explain what I meant she agreed with me. Definitely some spooky vibes by the reservoir over there.
Happy Anniversary. You’ve got a great inspirational story of your own. You ought to tell it and help others. Love the Morrison Loop. It was my first backpacking trip. Great memories. Plenty of coyotes to keep you company.
Went out there about a month ago when it was about 90 degrees and let me tell ya it was tough! Heading back out in a few weeks for a little colder weather and I'm really looking forward to it. Thanks for the video, I'll be following you, cheers.
Awesome video man! I really like you filming and editing style. Good music choice too. That looked like such a relaxing and enjoyable trip. I'll be checking out your channel. Thanks for sharing your adventure.
I did but I don't have a cool website with links like Sintax77, that's a little above my pay grade at the moment. Lol. I hiked the Rimrock loop counterclockwise and that campsite was on the middle trail that connects the Rimrock and Morrison trails. The coordinates are N 41° 50.628' W 078° 54.445' You are welcome to shoot me a message on Instagram if you need any more info and thanks for watching.
First hunting trip I was 14 I think first trial making trip I was 16 trails we made still used today! Most of the time today I don't use trails I make my own I just want to be alone or with my wife. I am 62 now hoping to have more time in the woods.
you seem like someone who has a story to tell.... Question for you. Where was your campsite exactly on the trail? I am looking to do an overnighter on this trail and do it on a weekend trip. Id like to basically do this same mileage since it looked like you enjoyed yourself. Any information would be great. Never been to Alleghany either.
I've been through a thing or two, that's for sure. The coordinates of that campsite are N 41° 50.628' W 078° 54.445' Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy your visit to ANF! It's a beautiful forest to explore.
Congratulations !
