I am so glad you talk about the cupcake dress. Even when I was looking for a graduation ball dress I decided to buy a long, very elegant one. Never really liked this short piece of garment. Now I am 25 and still don't understand the obsession with this type of dress. I had a photoshoot earlier this year wearing it and all I was thinking about the entire time I was wearing it was how incredibly short it was! How can anyone wear it in public, really?!
I honestly would have been embarrassed to wear that at 16. Part of the fun of growing up and going out is looking like a grownup. Yet I see 60 year olds wearing this stuff. It looks like the maker did not want to pay for an adequate amount of material. If you have a rich fabric, you would want as much of it as possible. That said, there is an exception to every rule. The Pretty Dress Company has a dress style called the Tilly. It's vintage and glamourous! It comes in a fitted and a full skirt option, and three of the many colours offered are red, deep green, and navy blue velvet. They're warm, the tailoring and styling are excellent and classy, and the velvet adds a layer of warmth!

Back in the 80s I owned a beautiful 'Little Black Dress ' by, believe or not, Betsy Johnson. People said I reminded them of the Singer Sade. It was a very sleek and elegant dress that was versatile. You could dress it up or dress it casual. It was below the knee and sort of mock turtle neck. It had an opening in the back "cut out" but it had mesh cover sewn behind. You are a grand young lady Anna. Its a joy knowing you teach others beautiful things. I too enjoy elegance. I think of the clothing I've been fortunate enough to wear. Not always expensive but always very tasteful. My mother taught me well..forever classy, NEVER over-done, always good lines. Most of the young ladies watching probably won't know the style icons from many years ago. Jacqueline Kennedy, a First Lady here in the U.S. in the early 1960s, and a Hollywood actress named Audrey Hepburn from the 50s & 60s. (Anyone remember the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's?) During her career, Audrey was dressed by none other than Hubert Givenchy. She was his muse. He loved dressing her and both women dressed impeccably well. I was a very young teen but was so drawn to the style of these two women. Girls at school (no more uniforms!) were beginning to follow the trends of the day while I could hardly wait for my next linen or wool suit. Of course, never stuffy or stuck up, i was just a teen who loved simple elegance. And now, that teen, all grown up, loves dressing, acting and being an 'elegant' lady. Yes, I am one of your 'elegant' ladies Anna dear.. Its beautiful what you teach Anna.... very special and many are blessed by the knowledge you share. Of course for you, best wishes, thoughts and dreams for the upcoming year!! 💕
As soon as I saw the notification for this video I immediately thought of the Christmas jumper, I'm so glad you mentioned it. Why anyone would choose to wear this on one of the most important and pleasant days of the year is just perplexing to me!
Anna, you are always so spot on! Another thing to consider with the overly short, overly tight or super high slit dress is that everyone has a camera now. You could easily make it online with one of those wardrobe malfunctions without even realizing it ❤️
I just realized how basic, how too casual and a little bit masculine I dress my self this year, i did not doing that earlier, but I think it is because I gained sone weight...so it would be great if you make a video about how to dress if we are little bit overweight, so we can look proper, feminine and not too bulcky

I appreciate how you struggle to get your point across w/o sounding patronising to anybody---Not an easy task I must say...But you certainly master it. IMO it would be helpful to put the "NO" and then show an example of the "YES". The LBD has been heavily misinterpreted by many of the so called new "fashion" trends and some ladies might be guessing, ok so what do I wear now? Thank you Anna!
Can you make a video about how to wear sequins and sparkly garments without looking cheap? I find myself drawn to those types of outfits and would love to know how I can make it work and still look elegant! :)
Some can look really pretty. I think she meant about the cheap ones where the glitter from the material rubs onto everything the dress touches. I have some classical sweaters that have a shine to them because of the metallic thread.
Here in Australia our Christmases are very often over the 40c mark. I've always recommended my girls to wear silks or cool linens, you cant go wrong with high end materials with a beautiful cut to them, plus they aren't cringeworthy in10 years time when you're looking back over family photographs

what about a plain silk midi slip dress with a cashmere wrap in winter? This is what I typically wear (in different colors) - I wear darker colors for winter, but am now concerned that it is too "summery"? I have gotten compliments for years - but want to take good advice as well.
Hello My Dear Elegant Ladies ... looking forward to today's video with a glass of wine obviously 😉 May we embrace our beauty and enjoy the journey of being elegant ❤❤❤
A cashmere sweater and wool or cotton slacks is fool proof for family gatherings, especially if there's young children and you need to get down to their level and play.
@@OnePulsar except not everyone can afford a nanny on christmas. And any sensible person that loves children will want to hang out with them. In my culture, taking care of kids wether you're a man or a woman is a huge sign of good character.
I have a very elegant silver sequin midi pencil skirt with a very modest slit on one side at the front and the length of the skirt is below my knee it looks very beautiful and very elegant with a turtle neck fitted sweater or a crew neck sweater I think so long as it's not sequins glitter and too much skin it can look very elegant if the skirt is shorter than long sleeve and vice a versa skimpy top trousers or midi to maxi length skirt ❤

(And yes it’s sometimes a sequin dress, but I’m dressing for the pub with my office team, not for affluent circles) Anna amazing disclaimer on this vid, love how you worded it xxx🎀🎀🎀🎀
I come to watch ur videos when I’m feeling down. They are all so funny and uplifting but honest
Good! This year for first tiene I've decided to wear a navy jumsuit with short sleeve and some lace on them. Has a belt and feel will serve me for Christmas day, panto, and friends party.
Oh my word Kate Middleton rocked the most amazing sequins gown ever!
I'm so glad you've spoken out about the split up past the hip! To me, it's not about the potential wardrobe malfunction, but it's like you're going up to every person at the party and saying "I'm not wearing any underwear." I don't need this information, and I don't want it 😆
“My dear elegant ladies.”💜✨
I am always patiently waiting every Sunday for new content. Now we need 10 things elegant ladies wear during the holiday parties. I hope it comes BEFORE THE HOLIDAYS PLZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!! Love you!!❤️
You are a grand young lady Anna. 💕
Anna, could you make a video about jewellery? I think that’s one of the topics I’d be more interested in your take.
Anna I love your energy! Our community-the one that you build is just amazing :) Your words and ideas always motivate me to keep going and to run that extra mile! I enjoy your clothing videos, they are helpful and funny at the same time. Can't wait for the next one! Stay happy and healthy, ladies ♡
I enjoy watching your videos 😊
I appreciate how you struggle to get your point across w/o sounding patronising to anybody---Not an easy task I must say...But you certainly master it. IMO it would be helpful to put the "NO" and then show an example of the "YES". The LBD has been heavily misinterpreted by many of the so called new "fashion" trends and some ladies might be guessing, ok so what do I wear now? Thank you Anna!
Anna, I LOVE how sassy you are in this video while listing the "10 sins" no elegant lady should give into!! 😁
Much love to all our elegant queens!!
Anna, you are getting better and better with your channel! It's a joy to watch your development as well!
Can you make a video about how to wear sequins and sparkly garments without looking cheap? I find myself drawn to those types of outfits and would love to know how I can make it work and still look elegant! :)
Trinny has some great content on it!
Some can look really pretty. I think she meant about the cheap ones where the glitter from the material rubs onto everything the dress touches. I have some classical sweaters that have a shine to them because of the metallic thread.
That dress and earrings make your eyes look so gorgeous Anna!
Here in Australia our Christmases are very often over the 40c mark. I've always recommended my girls to wear silks or cool linens, you cant go wrong with high end materials with a beautiful cut to them, plus they aren't cringeworthy in10 years time when you're looking back over family photographs
Totally agree with your toughts Anna except... for christmas jumper haha I will wear it ONLY at home 🙂 promised!!
Adrienne Pappel always has good sparkly dresses with out looking tacky.
YES!!! I could not agree more. Tasteful sparkly dresses
Is there any special advice we should know about jewelry?
Me and a few others have relentlessly asked for a jewellery video. I think it’s one of her most requested videos at this point.
I love this video all together, the editing, the pictures and your sense of humor 🙈😄
That emerald green is lovely on you Anna! I definitely prefer more plain and elegant gowns like that because it definitely enhances your natural features plus it showcases the jewelry. Im a redhead and yes I do have green velvet dress but I can get away with it 😉
"OOPS - YER FLASHING YER CROTCH!" 🤣🤣🤣 I had to STOP the video to laugh hard!
I like listening to your advices because it’s like coming from an older sister which I don’t have 😂 You’re one of the people that I look up to!
I have looked and looked for a lot of mirrors like this. I SO want my own version of this background.
I wore a red velvet dress on a date once and the man said I looked like a Christmas stocking 😂
Oh no
No need to take in his opinion , velvet is sa really good fabric and also looks elegant and expensive
He sounded quite rude. Not a gentleman!
😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂 how did the date go
Please, Anna, could you give us some advices of good outfits and make up for Hollidays?
Anna! I have been watching your videos lately and acting more like you, and when I tell you the amount of men that stare at me now… It’s unbelievable. I feel like I have this aura around me that men cannot resist! Thank YOU! I feel like I have a super power now
I just bought a $300 Ralph Lauren fair isle Christmas sweater uh oh LOL! I think it’s more classic though and not the gimmicky/funny kind
Thank you so much Anna, I am getting rid of half of the stuff I have into my closet😅...
Now we need the 10 great ideas of what to wear in holiday season for elegant ladies.
Hope it's coming soon😅😅😅...
Oh how I have missed my dear elegant lady Anna 😍😍 especially your sense of humor.. Thank you Anna for all that you continue to teach us, I appreciate you. Wishing you a great 2022, may you achieve all that you desire and more❤️❤️❤️
Hi Anna! Happy holidays and my best wishes for all the elegant ladies. We’re hosting Christmas dinner and I am finding myself looking for elegant table settings (I don’t appreciate all the cheesy decorations of the pictures I find online). Wanted to know if you could do a series on “Elegant lady hosts…” for the holidays. Some ideas:
- how to be an elegant hostess
- Elegant table setting
- Appetizers/Cockatil hour
Simple things, but we forget about it.Thank you very much🥰❤
Girl please leave my Christmas sweaters alone..they’re supposed to look cheesy😭😭❤️❤️
Aww😂..maybe style it in a different way so it doesn't look cheesy.
@@annav6998 LMAO big hater energy 🤣
@@annav6998 you mean she looks elegant no matter what she wears
@@mahsingh6041 girl I’m so confused am I being hated on or is my queen Anna being hated on either way ❌❌
@ღoliviaღ 💙💚 • 57 years ago lol yes I know I was just joking around, thank you! :)
what about a plain silk midi slip dress with a cashmere wrap in winter? This is what I typically wear (in different colors) - I wear darker colors for winter, but am now concerned that it is too "summery"? I have gotten compliments for years - but want to take good advice as well.
I have a true red cashmere sweater that I wear around the holidays. That's my beautiful Christmas swater
Yes, I love RED cashmere sweaters especially at Christmas and Valentines Day.
You say everything I’m thinking! I love this video.
Hello My Dear Elegant Ladies ... looking forward to today's video with a glass of wine obviously 😉 May we embrace our beauty and enjoy the journey of being elegant ❤❤❤
You look sophisticated in emeral green. Even better than baby blue. It's like wowww
I'm in Australia so it's summer here during Christmas 😂 ill be wearing summer dress
When she pulled out the christamas sweater i checked out. I am all for Christmas
A cashmere sweater and wool or cotton slacks is fool proof for family gatherings, especially if there's young children and you need to get down to their level and play.
An elegant lady would probably not be on the floor with children.
Leave the tending of children to the nanny.
@@OnePulsar 😂
@@OnePulsar 😂😂😂
@@OnePulsar except not everyone can afford a nanny on christmas. And any sensible person that loves children will want to hang out with them. In my culture, taking care of kids wether you're a man or a woman is a huge sign of good character.
@@lynna3671 true, but I think that was a joke lol
I agree with most of this list … Except for the velvet in red or green. I am a-okay with giving Santa or Christmas tree vibes during the Holidays. 😆
Please a video of Outfits appropriate for x-mas🎄☃️ & new years eve🎆🎊 season!
I’d love to chat with the elegant community more! I love Anna and her videos. I have yet to take a course but will be taking her 10 brutal mistakes webinar tonight. I am signed up for the waitlist for her A List app, but until then I’d really love to be able to connect with others and collaborate maybe! I am not sure the best way to connect, but if you have an idea leave the best method of communication and your username in the comments!
@@nadakhadda5307 I would love it !
Count me in ladies 🙋🏻♀️
Me too🙌🏼
Hi! I took Anna’s course and I highly recommend you get it even though it is some kind of a splurge. Looking forward to get in the A-List.
We could do a Telegram group :)
I am not much of a pants person although I do wear them at times. I love wearing dresses. I feel more elegant, feminine, and more ladylike.
Please can we have a what to wear video for holiday parties!!!
I must say I like Christmas jumper but just because we are celebrating 3 days so for the evening when watching Christmas films are perfect for this comfy outfit.
