  • 【4K】Flower part 004 of “Iron Chopsticks"(Helleborus)|Hand Embroidery|「蘇州刺繡•鐵筷子004高清」
Hi everyone, today I will show you how to embroider the flower part of "Iron Chopsticks".
Let's start with the petal part. As I said before, the petals of "Iron Chopsticks" contain three colors: pink, yellow and green. Therefore, this time we also use embroidery threads of these colors. This process of embroidery may be more complicated, thanks for your patience.
In terms of way of stitching, we still use the random stitch in crewel embroidery, the embroidered cloth is silk embroidery, with 8丝 (which is 1/2 of a thread).

Am I right in understanding, when you say 8 wire, do you mean there are 8 strands that make up the thread, and that you separate these 8 strands to use one strand at a time? Thank you :-)

This is the case. Chinese embroidery thread is a natural silk thread. One thread can be divided into several strands, roughly divided into 16 threads, and one thread can also be further divided into thinner threads.

@@ArtEmbroidery oh wow, I've never worked with silk before, I've only ever used DMC threads that one strand splits into 6 separate strands. I'm amazed you can see the thread separated that thinly.
