Hi Marian, I’m looking at swapping over to the Evo from the Rebel. I’m 85kg and the wind where we kite is 16-23kts (Tropical) 95% of the time it blows. I’m on the 11mt Rebel and was looking at the 11mt Evo. Would this be the correct size or do I go a 12mt? Cheers
Hi, first of all thank you for your review. I listened the part related size preferences 2-3 times and I have some questions. I am sharing my kites with my wife 74kg Vs 53 kg. We already have 7m from another brand. I am considering to build up my quiver with 9m Evo SLS and 11/12m Evo/Evo Sls. I couldn't decide between 11 and 12. Our wind generally starts with 14 knots and I want to be able to hold my kite on 20+ knots as well for high jumps. Also I don't know how agile/fast would 12m be. I am not concerned with lower then 13/14 knots as I am planning to put foil in my quiver later. Can you share what will be the low/high range of 11m and 12m Evo Sls respectively for an experienced rider?
Hey Marian! I have a question. I like to ride on foil (still beginner), directional and twintip. The Evo SLS seems perfect for this. So I've just ordered my 12m and 9m Evo SLS. Can't wait to have them in my quiver. On lighter wind days I stick to foiling. On the really strong wind days (30+ knots) I only twintip. According to your review and the size selector on the Duotone website the kite has a bigger windrange in the high end and a 9m is adviced for 30-40 knots. However, with my weight (95kg), would the 9m still be comfortable to ride? Or should I consider also buying a 7m for these winds?
HI justin, good choice! the 9m will be comfortable up to 35 knots, depending on your level maybe even 40 knots... actually no need for a 7m. But consider a juice 13 (dlab) for foiling
@@MarianHund A dLab you say? Does Duotone accept organs as payment? 😜 But I recently got myself a Duotone Capa 11m for foiling. Gonna try that first. And I also already noticed that down to 10 knots I was doing pretty well on my foil and 12m Evo SLS too. So I'm not that concerned anymore for low wind days. 😀
Hi guyz!! Is the 10 my size fast? Can I use it to do some kiteloops? Is the 10 mt still good for that? Because I would like to buy for my girlfriend a 7or 8 Mt, that I can use when the wind is very strong but I need one bigger for me (90kg) in other occasions but I don't want a big one because I think they are to much slow..now I have a 9 Mt and 12 Mt of 2020 Evo, the 12 is very very slow! Thanks for all the suggestions..
I have Evo 12 sls. I would like to test 8 or 9 in proper conditions to see the difference from Dice that I own. I am 90kg so I m wondering the Evo sls will fits better for Jumps and Big Air
(bei 83 kg) @Marian: was meinst du?
Einfach mal ausprobieren ;)
So for 12m definitely 24m lines and 10m and smaller 22m? I have a 12m and 10m Evo SLS coming and wanted to know if I could get away with one bar with 22m or as recommended need two bars at 22 and 24m... If you used both sizes with different length lines, can you let me know how much difference the extra 2m makes on the larger sizes?
The ideal solution would be 2 bars. However if you only wanna go for one bar, Go for the small bar with some extra 2m extensions. So you can have 24m and 22m. The difference is huge!
Hey bro! I ride 11 & 8 Rebels and for 90kg work fine whith twin tip. To have the equivalent power in evo SLS & Whip/twin tip should I keep the sizes or go one size more? Cheers!
Thanks for the video. Have you tried the Neo SLS? I’m not sure if I should go for the Evo or Neo. I would use a lot for foiling and surfboard when wind is stronger (live in light wind spot). Although surfboard not much waves and more downwinds or free riding. I have a mono 13 for real light wind days and I am looking for a 9m
@@RfQuintella I had Rebels and had the same issue with foiling. I now have the Evo SLS and it's a huge difference. I really fell in love with it's agility. Looping that kite all over the place. You're gonna love that feeling of being in control all the time.
I am always amazed how many kite videos are shot in my home town
Nice endlich wieder ein Video 😊

Nice Video! what do you think of the combo: Evo SLS 12 and Rebel 9 for a 77kg guy?

Hey Marian, thanks for the great video!
What setting on the tips you have? Soft, medium or hard?
Mostly Medium 😍
Good review, thx!
One question, how easy was it to launch in 6-8kts for foiling? Easy to relaunch from the water in these low wind conditions?
Easy but u have to do backlaunch

go for 8 and 10

Hey Marian
Is this the kite you tested earlier with almost no wind?
Si Si
these sizes 8 and 11 at what wind speed?

My guess is that you will be 10-15 percent higher 😎

Depending on the Windspeed ... from 17knts you are fine with the 11 Evo sls...
@@MarianHund can you loop your Evo 11 at 17 - 20 knots? How about Dice and Rebel SLS with this purpose?
Marian, when is the kota kite coming out?
We have some promising kites so far but I can’t give you a release date , sorry
Evo SLS 12m with twin tip can ride with 10 knots?
nope, not gonna work unless you are 60kg..
Thanks for the video. Have you tried the Neo SLS? I’m not sure if I should go for the Evo or Neo.

For surfboard the neo sls is better because of its deep position in the wind window. Evo is better on the foil...
@@MarianHund thanks!
@@MarianHund does the Evo drifts ok? I have a Rebel and for foiling it is hard as it doesn’t drift. That’s one of my concerns
