Choosing to dress the crew in costume and make them part of the story bc Marilyn relied so much on the people she worked with for all kindsa things is so cool and is such a great creative touch
What she said about Marilyn’s accent changing but not her voice was such a smart way to approach the character. It just shows how good of an actress she is😊
@@romanaa7070 sure, but in this case Ana’s accent is inevitable, just because English is not her first language and she learnt it not long ago, it’s even harder for her to achieve that, so she focused on other factors rather than getting the exact accent right.

She is so talented and humble. The fact that she learned how to speak English in six months says it all (not for this movie as a lot of the comments below talk about, but when she moved to LA)... She truly deserves all the recognition she is getting.
This is incredibly ignorant, if you've watched any of her other roles you would know she knows how to speak English, it isn't her first language but she knows how to speak English. She just had to learn how to properly immerse herself in how she speaks English.
This is the best interview she has done for the movie, the questions are all what we wanted to know about this role and explain everything from the accent critics to her not trying to imitate her because Monroe is only one! She keeps proving how humble, talented and gracious she is, the more fame she gets the better she becomes! She deserves and I’m expecting the Oscar nomination at least !

I knew Anna before she become worldwide famous. She played in Spanish tv show “ Laguna Negra”, her character was my favourite. I remember the news when she got married. And after few years I found her movies in English and was very surprised. She is very talented and deserves this role. Today she’s on another level and I’m sure she will be a legend! Sorry for my mistakes, English my third language.
I'm watching this now, I had never seen Ana's films before....All I can say is, it's completely iconic. Stunning performance, heart and soul. Brava Ana!!!
She was outstanding in the role and gave 100% in every shot. The film never seems like almost 3 hours long , such was the magnetic hold it had. A superb actress with many more roles awaiting her prodigious talent.
I am a huge Marilyn Monroe fan and I have never liked any of the other actresses when they have portrayed Marilyn. Either they don't look quite like her, or they don't have that unique naive shy personality Marilyn was. I do say, I am looking forward to seeing Ana De Armas in this Blonde movie and to see it in the big screen. She is the closest to a Marilyn look alike so far that I have seen and also I am interested in seeing more of Marilyn's personal life and the things she went through. Congrats to Ana for bringing Marilyn back to life.
Well if you’ve wanted to see Marilyn naked and pathetic most of the time and raped ... this is the movie for you. They took a woman who fought so hard to be seen as more than T and A and just reduced her to it for a whole new audience.. it’s revolting.
I loved Ana's portrayal as Marilyn its so haunted and yet stunning at the same time. Also the way the movie was filmed/shot was super realistic and made me feel like i was actually there experiencing the trauma of her life. Most times i thought i was watching Marilyn. Stunning stunning film on so many levels. Congrats
she truly connected to her... very emotions, facial expressions and energy/aura... I am quite astonished and riveted with the commitment and performance by Ana. This is not a oversexualization of her story and life but rather an expose on the very details and emotions in between her fame and personal life that led up to her very death.
Her English is actually very good, specially considering she learned in such a short period of time. She seems very humble to me and just watching this short clips in here it seems that she actually captured Marilyn's soul, and as she said she cannot imitate her ,she needed to understand her to play her. The fact that the Director did not call the cuts is an amazing idea to make it more real and stay in character. I'm really intrigued to watch this movie. I'm already very proud of her especially because she's Latin. 💕
I really was excited to see this movie, and after watching this, I’m REALLY, REALLY EXCITED to see it!!! The idea of dressing the crew in period costume , and not cutting between takes, is a stroke of genius by the director 👌🏽
Ana de Armas is so amazing and her performance as Marilyn Monroe was extraordinary. It was like watching the real Marilyn. No wonder the Europeans gave her a 14 min. standing ovation in Venice.
Ana is a gift to the acting world because her emotional depth is insane! I understand why he chose her. She can deliver. I don’t care about an accent, this is a reimagined version of her life. I want to see their version and I’m excited for her! This will be huge for her!
I watched the movie. She did a great job. However, the film is based on a fictional account of Marilyn's life. I've read several biographies and watch a couple of documentaries. There are both facts and fiction in this film.
She did a great job! Ana is spontaneous, talented, generous, humble, modest, a hard worker, and a beautiful woman. Another pretty woman for Hollywood. The sky is her limit!! Go for your nominations, Ana😍!!!
I've just watched the movie. Brilliant performance. Whole another level. It's like a portrait of the soul. I cried and smiled with you. Ana, you are brilliant.
Don't bet too much on that happening. For one thing, most of the so-called Oscar candidate films have not been released yet.
