I think the music arrangement a bit slow at certain part which sound empty n the voters felt something lacking..but overall the performance almost the best..the voice n vocals are at the best..
Both have great resonance but Celine is better with lows and HV ... but SSY has higher belts ... I'd love to head SSY cover All By Myself... I want to hear that F5! it will be a wow
What's wrong with the voters here ? Are the kind of deaf or something Ssy not winning on this show anymore but everyone includding other artists on the episode agrees that her performance is super awesome . Much as I usually like ALi, the performance of Seung-yeon was vastly superior in every way on this night. Seems that the majority, middle to older age, audience prefer big, Hollywood-style numbers to power-ballads.
I used to get excited every Sunday for new episodes of IS2. I used to watch the clips without subs first, just feeling the songs without entirely understanding the lyrics. Then I watch the whole ep with subs, too...that was then...so, Yes, I miss the glory days too!
Ok, so her singing is phenomenal as usual (and you'll find no bigger fan of her singing than me trust me), but I think she couldn't beat Forestella because the arrangement didn't flow from start to finish IMO. There were too many awkward transitions/breaks into the different parts in the song and for me that messed with my enjoyment of the song. Many performers do this on IS2. ALi herself is super guilty of doing this a lot... Also, I'm pretty sure Forestella's score was ridiculously high for an early performance (because their arrangement was great AND their vocals were amazing), so even though Seung Yeon might've had a decent score, the fact that her performance wasn't arranged as nicely as it could've been probably hurt her score and didn't allow her to beat Forestella. And yes ALi will never be able to beat Seung Yeon in terms of technique and range, but her performance was solid, the arrangement was smooth and catchy, and her voice is always strong enough to do the trick despite her lack of mind-blowing high notes. Add the fact that she performed super late and it makes sense that she won.
