- The new 130 Flex boot from Full Tilt with the First Chair. This boot sees many upgrades and takes it to a new level of performance with an outstanding liner and a #12 tongue.
Probably my favourite offering from Full Tilt Boots ever.

Thanks man. This is one of the few ski reviews I've seen where the reviewer actually knows what they're talking about.
Thanks Fishy!
Do the drop kicks and Kicker 2021
Will try get some soon. Cheers
I'm still rocking Full Tilt Seth Morrisons that are my absolute favorite boot ever. I just picked up the First Chair 120 to have one of the last True Full Tilts as a backup when the time comes to retire my Seths. I love the wrap liner and how comfortable it is, so I am skeptical of the change to a tongue liner in the new boots, but when the day comes, maybe I'll give it a chance before swapping to a wrap.
I just picked up a pair of 130's but still using my Seths. I molded the new tongue liner set up the new boot with footbeds and heel pads but the fit is not as snug as my wrap liners in my Seths. I do have more room in the toe box but the liner is not as snug as the wrap. So im going back to the wrap. I ordered another full tilt pro wrap liner and will change it.
Still rocking my Raichle’s with some repair jobs. Picked up a pair of 130’s as the day is coming soon to retire the Raichles!
Would you say the pro tongue liners change the fit & performance from years past for the better? I have a pair of First chair 10s from a few years ago just sitting around with shot liners. Thinking of just getting wrap liners with the removable insole this time on FTs website, unless you truly believe in the tongues liners?
Yeah these pro tongue liners are legit! If your season is over already, I would wait til they release them later in the year.
Its kind of a simple evolution but to use your words 'it changes the boot for the better'. I've been on full tilts seths/first chair 10/ even use a 12 tongue on my seths and they work for my feet.
I always have to put in c pad around my ankles which most FT riders know about. the cabrio boot just gives you a more natural flex some people don't like it and confuse it with being soft ..not true....
Its just a larger forward flex range which for me is great. Your call out on the removeable insert is right on....i just picked up another set of ft liners because of that reason. Way easier with my own footbed when molding. i looked at intuition liners and they don't have that option in the power wrap only in the pro wrap. (i think)
First time i tried intuition wrap liners was in a 4 buckle rossi race boot and it changed the ride and i liked it.....now with the new/old intuition race tongue liner it sounds like it fixes some of the issues folks have with FT. aka doesn't feel like a 4 buckle race boot.
For me i've changed my skiing to be more centered and my mount points have moved up toward center so I still like the flex and wrap liners but I may just pick up a new race pro liner and see. it sounds like a great add for the higher level skiers looking at FT boots as more than a park boot which they definitely are.
PS: I'm loving the Liner Sleeves!!
Cheers Steven, yeah I think it definitely ups this boot a notch and something that opens these boots up to more people.
The foot hold improves much more than the wrap liner which always ends up a little sloppy, especially when it starts to warm up. Wet too :)
What’s the advantage of a cabrio boot design as opposed to an overlap one?
really easy to get in and out of and comfier I feel. (i have a pair of 2018 descendant 6s and love them)
different flex its down to personal preference
@@donalddarko3676 in my limited boot experience it was mostly that full tilts don't pinch the tendons on the front of my ankle even when cinched tight!
@@jubjuber1 thats interesting thanks for your insight
Less boot distortion and a more natural flex!
Would these be a good option for someone with high arches/instep, narrow feet and skinny calves?
Maybe. Instep would be the key. You may prefer the wrap liner options, which there will still be an option available fro next season.
Sorry for the bacis/beginner question here! Are there any full tilt boots that you would recommend for more beginner skiers? I love the design and look of their range of boots but I am a little confused as to whether they would be the appropriate brand for on-piste skiers....thank you in advance!
Hi M T,
Yeah if you are more of a beginner skier, it will depend on your foot size and shape. But you might like the descendant 4 or 6 models for a bit of a wider foot, or the First Chair 6 if you are a bit narrower. These are great beginner boots as they are easy boots to put on and have a nice comfortable liner. But certainly boots you can grow your skills with.
Patriot Footbeds thanks for the quick feedback, the comments are appreciated!
I have the Full Tilt Descendant 6. They are a little wider than the First Chairs which worked better for my foot. Plus the buckle system is easier . I think they or even the 4 would be a great choice for you. Remember you can buy stiffer tongues if you find the boot too soft as you progress which is great peace of mind. I love the 3 piece cabrio design. Way easier to get in and out of and easier to walk. Mine are very comfortable. Don't even think about unbuckling at lunch. Feet are warm, no numbness whatsoever. The First Chairs might fit your feet better so try both models on. One more thing, I'm not sure about next season's but the Descendant 4 had a different liner than the other models. It was more traditional. Mine has the Intuition wrap style. I love it. No tongue, super easy. Great performing boots. I'm an advanced skier. 3 piece boots are the way to go in my opinion.
Hey, how would compare this to the Dalbello Il Moro?
Pretty similar. I would say this First Chair offers a closer fit and bit more power. But the fit for your own feet is the key. As a freeride/ park boot both are good options.
Finally a full tilt boot that might work for me. Got the First chair with a 8 tongue, and could only ski in them a total of 2 hours, 2 times. Had the liners heat molded, and tried everything i could without destroying the boot, and i just couldn't get them to work for me. Heels hurt, it didn't hold me in, toes were slamming in the front, and the cuff felt way too tall, and im 6'4". Worst time in a boot ever. Got a narrow heal, wide fore foot, and tall arch. I ended up getting the Dalbello Krypton 120 flex, and the fit is pretty good, heel stays locked in place with the middle buckle design and the flex is very similar to a full tilt, little snug in the fore foot, but that can always be punched if needed. My favorite boot of all time is the Salomon SPK, It had a 104 last, so I could slightly shift the front of my foot, for that little bit of extra leverage, but the heel was narrow so it held me in place. I haven't been able to find anything similar to that fit in years, and i miss it. Plus the 2 buckle, laced liner, and phatty power strap was a slick combo. I believe it was the first boot to ever have a power strap on the cuff, and a laced liner.
What full tilts would you recommend with someone who has arch pain?
Something that is a bit wider last like the descendants. If they don’t work they don’t fit your feet
@@jpxc1329 try insoles first before anything else
Are these still good for park?
Yeah. They are now the K2 Revolver boot
Do you think the 130 flex will give me issues or will it be fine I’m 5’8 160
@@claytonbillingkoff9926 If you are skiing aggressively you might be ok. You can soften them easily with a replcement softer flexing tongue.
Thank you sm which tongue do you recommend I ski relatively hard
@@claytonbillingkoff9926 The current K2's top out at 120. if you find that to be a bit too much, Id say drop to the 100.
How would the stiffness of these compare to the k2 mindbender 130?
Both are pretty solid, a little bit different feel to them. Prob a touch stiffer on these to the Mindbender.
@@PatriotFootbeds thank you! What about a Dalbello Sports Panterra 130 ID? Trying to buy one but no local ski shop has any in my size. Looking for real stiff because I’m hefty.
@@sickair45 Yeah the Panterra may be even better if you are bigger as the Panterra is a larger volume boot!
