Buyer beware: You should have checked out the parking space, storage space, requested 6 months of HOA meeting minutes, HOA Bylaws, restrictions, garbage and recycle container rules all before purchasing. As a courtesy, the Realtor should have mentioned these. Good luck.

My car would be able to fit because I’d back in at an angle more towards the pillar, my side mirror would be behind the pillar - I do it all the time. They get longer, wider and taller. And ironically, parking stalls become narrower and narrower. The best existing parking space out there today are the Richmond centre mall and Lansdown mall. The worst and most ridiculous of all I ever experience is the Waterfront hotel in Vancouver. Shameful and ridiculous for a high end hotel! This parking stall issue has to be rectified immediately. Cars are not the same size as in the 80s!! We have idiots working at City Hall that are not competent.
Not acceptable by any measure they should just leave that unit empty as a guest unit they can rent and let him opt out if they can’t get him proper parking..ive seen loads of people damage their cars in condo units
The BMW X5 is not a small car... you can't have it all. When you live downtown youll have to make some compromises. Some people can't even afford living in Vancouver. Maybe buy a smaller car so it fits into the "small car" stall?
I can't believe a person would purchase any Condo without checking the size and cost of a parking spot. Some Condos charge up to $20,000 for one parking space. Do not sign closing documents until you check out parking, storage, Bylaws,special assessments.

Totally agreed for a property that physically exists, but if you buy a new condo development, they are selling the units often before they break ground at the site. So if you went to the place where they were building the condo and look down at your spot, you are literally looking down into the ground and imagining, which to my mind doesn't give you much perspective as to the parking lot size 😀

the greater vancouver area has always been a sh*tstrom of ridiculously small parking spots. cities and the little minds that control bylaws need to take a page from grande prairie where you can park a dually truck almost anywhere. so many big cities are trying to be like tokyo where you cannot move without bumping into something. its not parking for all there. its parking for the desired vehicles.
Car dependency is an American construct. Unless you do actual work, no one needs a big truck. You try that logic in Europe and they'll laugh you out of the room. If you want a big truck and be able to park it, don't live in a city.

Yup. They tell you in the contract if the spot with be regular size or small. Smaller condos typically will be allocated the smaller spots.
