- This amazing film was released in 1922 by the Prana Film company under the name "Nosferatu," because the studio could not get the rights to the novel "Dracula." It was the Prana Film company's only film, because they soon declared bankruptcy (before the widowed Mrs. Stoker could sue for copyright infringement). In 1927, the Cinémathèque Française, which collected and preserved films, preserved a copy of the second French version of "Nosferatu." In 1947 This version made a home in the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
Nosferatu. Dir. F.W. Murnau. Writ. Henrik Galeen and Bram Stoker. Prana Film, 1922.
I turned the volume down on this movie and watched it with Slipkont and The Fall Of Troy and Killswitch in the background, interesting thing lol.
Okay, NOW I'm having a giggle fit. ARMADILLOS of all things?
wonderful
she's not a man, it's just that the make up and lighting in those days didn't really do women any favours
I think that the hyena is suppose to represent the "dark spirits" that the man in the tavern spoke of. Kind of like the wolf in the other Dracula. Or maybe they were hoping that they could pass the hyena as wolf. Hahaha!
The actors all had to wear make up so that their facial expressions could be seen clearly on film.
I see the word 'creepy' being used a lot in the comments :-)
I was thinking the same thing, though supposedly the "actress" had done other films. She is awfully masculine-looking.
hahahahah i just love the way he tells her that he's leaving, packs his things in a matter of seconds and leaves just like: "See ya :D "
She has some kind of what-the-fuck-look on her face :D:D:D
Did this inspire the current portrayal of blonds?
Common, never listen to creepy old guys with uni brows....
the bald headed guy looks creepy
i think she's a man. =) i thought i was the only one who noticed that.
ARMADILDO lol
