I don't like the amount of weapons they throw in that take zero skill to use. For instance, sticky grenades, mostly when people just spam you with them and you have no shot at escaping. That's frustrating to me.

You make some really good points, Buddy, and I agree with you. I, myself, have raged at one or more of these topics at some point or another while playing Fortnite and it's coincidental that you made this video because, recently, I performed an internet search "what is Epic doing about cheaters in Fortnite" and found a post on Reddit by a "whistleblower" who didn't confirm nor deny that they do or don't work for Epic and signed or didn't sign a non-disclosure agreement (which tells you basically what you need to know) but they did confidently confirm that Epic has chosen to "turn a blind eye" to cheating and NOT to ban certain hackers.
He mentioned that Epic has every capability to ban hackers, every last one of them, but they won't because... profits. Essentially, he states that these hackers actually bring money into the game. They purchase skins, v-bucks, and they funnel other users to the game who otherwise wouldn't play if they didn't have cheats or a way to make the game fun for them, especially if they can't build or their aim and strategies for combat in Zero Build suck. Players complained so much about hackers that he says this is why Epic introduced the Ranked system as a proverbial Band-Aid-so that those who want a casual game can have that in the lower ranked lobbies (chances are good they'll never make it past Silver or Gold anyway) and those who want to cheat or use hacks (reaching toward Unreal rank) can be in lobbies together as well.
The problem is, there are legit competitive gamers (like myself) who grind, practice, and put in the work to become better and naturally move up the ranks until they're in lobbies with hackers and you can't always beat them, no matter what strategy you use. Imagine Platinum, Diamond, Elite, Champion, and Unreal being full of hackers and you're the only legit player. You might as well already say GG's and hang it up. Why do you think there are so few players in those ranks? Looks like the numbers would sit right around 30% of the total player base. Interesting. Also, consider those other players who aren't very good or who are just starting the game because they saw a RUclips videos of someone with 98 elims in a Solo v Squads match and they want it too, so they recently bought hacks to do it. They're starting in the Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum lobbies crushing legit players to get to Unreal-legit players who really just want to play a fair and casual game with other legit players so they can improve their gameplay and rank up naturally. That, for a legit player, is the beauty of gaming. The time it takes to get from one rank to another or to go from a sucky player, to a good player, to a great player by practicing, grinding, and putting in the time to improve. When you bring hacks and cheats into that type of environment, you also introduce the toxicity that ruins the fun environment that games like this are intended to offer. But, I digress.
The point this "whistleblower" drove home is that Epic wants to try and please everyone (including kids, casual gamers, competitive gamers, and hackers) so they can keep profits high. I don't know how true any of what he said is but I have to admit that it's really hard to ignore the fact that there are blatant bugs, third-partiers, rats, and hackers in the game, especially when you see a player (while watching the replay) snipe you out of an unbreakable tree with a DMR from over 100 meters using a flick shot or when you're knocked from FULL HEALTH because someone with a sniper knicks a microscopic corner of your elbow around cover or you're clearly being seen, tracked, and then eliminated without Bull Shark or Nolan or a capture point giving away your location. What's even more mind-blowing is when you go for a cache after scanning an area to ensure it's clear only to notice someone ratting behind a rock with a hired character waiting with a turret to take you down and steal the cache for themselves; or when you go for a forecast tower boss in Duos and are overtaken by two other teams who eliminate you seemingly together (collusion) only to grab the slurps & gold weapons then leave the key on the ground for the remainder of the game, never fighting one another.
It sucks, it's frustrating, and it really makes some of us rage and want to play different games because we love Fortnite so much but we feel helpless, like there's nothing we can do to make things better except report it (knowing nothing will be done about it), play Creative maps only (which can get kind of boring because the thrill of BR is what brought us to Fortnite in the first place), or become a cheater ourselves, which our conscience just won't allow us to do because we know we've got what it takes to be a great player. I'll be the first to admit that I've seriously considered purchasing hacks for soft aim just to level the playing field a bit more for myself (no, I haven't done it and I won't) because being eliminated by a hacker with a gray Suppressed Pistol against your blue Sharp Tooth and green Combat SMG swap combo who takes no damage and then emotes on you (with the Donkey Laugh, as you mentioned) as if they've done something noteworthy, after all your grinding and practice, is a huge shot to the ego. It really began making me question my gaming ability, until I switched from NA-East with a 19ms ping to the EU server with an 89ms ping at 3am and got 3 victories in Zero Build Solos while streaming on Twitch. It was very validating because it proved to me that I don't completely suck at this game, there's just a high probability that I was going up against hackers. It does hurt when you're griding every day, practicing, improving your gameplay, strategies, and performance only to be taken down by someone who (without their hacks) would be worth nothing more than a pile of loot strewn on the ground in a skill only 1v1 against you. I felt for a while like there's nothing that could be done, but I was wrong!
This same "whistleblower" also mentioned that the hackers in the game make up about 30% of the player base while LEGIT players (those who aren't using in-game enhancements, hacks, or cheats) make up about 70% of the player base. Yeah, he says they have statistics to show who's hacking and who's not, smh. That means if we can find a way for the majority of the legit players to rally together and petition Epic to do something about the hackers (go on strike, basically, and not play the game nor buy skins, v-bucks, or other in-game purchases from them) until the game is more fair and the playing field is more level, they would have no other choice than to begin banning hackers on a real level so they do not lose their largest player base: legit players. All it would take is at least 31% or more of legit players to be fed up enough to band together and demand that Epic do something about the hackers.
I'm 100% for a more fair game and would do anything I could to make that a reality for myself and other legit players because if we get rid of the hackers, we would ultimately bring back the FUN of the game. We'd bring back players who have left due to hackers and would also bring in an entirely new generation of players who aren't very good at first (like we all were in the beginning) but have a real chance to go up against other legit players, have fun, and improve their gaming skills so they can get better in a fair way, the way gaming is SUPPOSED to be. If someone isn't good at the game and they keep losing matches, being allowed to cheat is not an efficient way to handle it. It only ruins the gaming experience for legit gamers. Teaching them how to use their resources (i.e. creative training maps, rapid 2v2s, and putting in the time and practice to get better) would still keep them in the game and would keep the gaming experience fun and non-toxic.
The best way to improve at anything in life is through practice and experience, not cheats and shortcuts. Ever heard the old adage "give a man a fish and he eats today, but teach a man to fish and he eats for the rest of his life." The same can be true in this instance. You don't make a player better at a game by allowing them to cheat. You make them better by enforcing your own rules stating that cheating is illegal and a bannable offense (www.epicgames.com/help/en-US/fortnite-c5719335176219/player-behavior-c19319279166491/why-am-i-receiving-a-restricted-hardware-warning-in-fortnite-a8777966827675) while encouraging players to do the right thing through practice and putting the time in to improve at the game NATURALLY, thus keeping things fair all across the board for everyone and maintaining a sound reputation in the gaming realm.
Taking this route would be a win-win-win and if the staff at Epic would consider this logic, they'd see that the profits would be far more beneficial (and morally sound) than turning a blind eye to blatant cheating (among other things like the bugs/glitches, harassment through constant third-partying or ratting) and risking losing their 70% of legit players right along with their reputation. I wonder how they'd feel to only have a 30% player base consisting of nothing but hackers. Doesn't sound very good for profits from my perspective. This, of course, is all my own opinion.

Checked out the Reddit link. Honestly crazy if it’s true. Thanks for sharing all your thoughts, frustrations, and struggles. Appreciate it. That’s lowkey actual abuse if they let you grind your butt off knowing that they are protecting cheaters and lying about them.
Basically no matter what you do, you are capped because of cheaters being protected.
But the gaslighting to the players who think they are running into hackers is actually evil if it’s true.

The most annoying thing for me is getting sniped. There have been so many times I've gotten one shotted by a rat whole spent 3 to 5 minutes just passively waiting for someone to wonder into his crosshairs. And when it happens, you get no warning, no second chance, no possibility to reset the fight. Getting sent back to lobby due to a bullet you never seen coming, is like having the game randomly crash to desktop.
Oh and the donkey laugh thing, that's going to happen far more if you have TTV or YT in your name. They assume you're streaming and they want to laugh on you in front of your audience. They're just trying to get their 5 seconds of fame in front of a large audience. I picture most of these people as lonely teens who with no friends, looking for the dopamine rush of showing off in front of an audience. They're like kids who will act up in front of their parents just to get attention because they feel neglected. So I say, when it happens, just smile and know you gave some lonely depressed kid his thrill for the day.

I’m new & playing on console and watched a Xbox user who regularly posts Zerobuild wins.
After watching Chronus Zen videos he’s 100% at least got anti recoil.
I play with my daughter and we spend a lot of time trying to learn how to shoot in a straight line. Honestly heartbreaking to get to the end for someone to laser you on milliseconds due to cheats. Always a pleasure to lose to someone better.. that’s how you learn. But cheating just ruins the game for everyone else.

Well said MF. Thank you for being the first out of the gate with really strong wording. I hope other content creators take up the hue and cry of it. I know the big thing for me is the "skill based" lobby and then you end up with upper ranked FNCS players who will come in and just use lower skill players to beef up their KD. It's like women and men putting shoulder pads in their jackets or suit coats to make themselves look more imposing. And the Losers that hack, with fragile egos. May they get caught and sued or jail time. My rant. Cooper M, Shinobi.

#5 haven't noticed much cheaters in ranked (I also haven't played in two weeks) but there is definitely a HUGE problem in zb tournaments especially after qualifying. Every game is a coin toss on whether or not some dude who's lvl 40 decides to turn everything on, and if you win a game its pretty much guaranteed in your next game there'll be a cheater. Also is a problem in scrims like stride where you can just watch some dude in the killfeed drop a 30 bomb against pros. Imo Fort needs to go in the Valorant direction by having an intrusive anticheat.

Agree with everything but taunting… think it’s soft to have that kind of mindset. It’s a competitive game. Taunting is a part of it. Especially if the opponent is playing weird. Emotes are nothing compared to my experience back in the day with Cod and proximity chat lol.

    • @MFBuddy_YT
      @MFBuddy_YT  9 месяцев назад +3

Agree to disagree on this one! I think it takes more strength to control your emotions and chose to not participate in it. Taunting will most likely always come from a place of pride and ego. I get if the opponent is playing weird sometimes you gotta try to communicate that you disagree with the play style.
Also hear me out I’m not perfect at this and don’t feel superior. I give into emotions still. But i look back and know that when I give in, it’s because I’m reacting to something.
If I’m taunting someone, I’m basically belittling them in the moment to make myself feel better.
Yes it’s a game and not that deep to a lot of people, but I highly doubt people who are really invested in the game don’t take things personal.
I appreciate the comment and perspective on this though!
also…. COD lobbies back in the day were actually untouchable with how toxic they were. If you survived them, you can survive anything 🤣

The reason there are cheaters is because Epic basically doesn't care. I reported 2 players I know both told me they use cronus zen. Nothing happened. But if you are bog time streamer and report someone it can happen then and there. Epic trying to look like they care is as dishonest as a cheater IMO.
