Let me break it down….. The Spurs’ game plan is not a winning formula. IMHO, they’re grossly misusing Wembanyama. When you look at the stats, this is what you see with him at 7’5”: 42Pts but only 51.6% shooting. 18 rebounds total but only 2 offensive. Only 4 free throws. Only a +7 net during his time on the floor. Yes, he can shoot 3 pointers but so what? Teams are happy to let him do so! It takes him away from the basket and it results in less fouls. He’s not going to get a foul prone player like KAT into trouble and he becomes much less of a threat on the offensive board! It’s just not winning basketball and it’s reflected in their record.
