17:36 I think that's just Shamaatae's hand lettering / calligraphy. He used to do it on the 90s records also, the whole lyrics and everything. I quite like it, it's definately more of an art piece feel to the physical release than the minimalist raw black metal package: cover art, 2 page booklet without lyrics or recording information, back cover with just song titles and an inverted cross or a pentagram...
The one you said you hadn't heard of (Machine Men) is kinda like a modern Maiden (early 2000s). Pretty good actually I really like Dark Tranquillity's Projecter! Lot of good stuff in there
Hi Simon!!! Well done, seems to be you had an awesome "metal" day going to the market and the gig too.... I still need to get into Blind Guardian, i like some powermetal, but not the cheesy or "way too happay one". cheers and be well
Last gig I went to was Demelich in 2018 ! I don't got to gigs anymore due to anxiety. Anyway love those records shops mate, we don't have anything like that here.
Awesome metal video and concert the metal concert I went to back in July 27 in Raleigh was Lamb of God they played Ashes Of The Wake in full Mastodon Played Leviathan in full And the last to bands were Malevolence and Kerry King
Vrenth is probably one of my favorite modern DM records. You really need to make moves. That shit really is exquisite shit. You’ll love it. Guaranteed man.
@@ExplosiveAction Yeah, man. Snag all their shit. Demo rips. The LP is really something. Theres something straightforward, kinda tough, and overtly British to it. Not a Bolt Thrower feel, but like an early Benediction feel or even a Desecrator feel. I cant quite put my finger on it, but it’s also heavy Finn-fluenced.
Would be great if you do a Special Video just showing all Stuff from Swartadauthuz Hails from Germany. Check out Nawarharjan from Germany. Excellent!!!!
Blind Guardian´s third album is great! It´s the last one I own, I cut off right after that. I bought that Stormlord CD in the late 90s, to me it´s cheap lactose free cheese, hahaha... Well, we all have a different taste and that´s great! Wouldn´t it be boring if everyone was listening to the same s**t???
Metal market looks awesome and how the heck can you keep records in car without them melting i left one record in my truck while I went into a store and when I returned record warped
Hail Simon....I`m quite disappointed by your review of the Arckanum Album. The Album is pure Runic/Anti good Nothern Mythology. It`s a Milestone....further Releases are even better, Especially the Split Ep`s and the Follower PPPPPPPP Album. After this ,suddenly came a complete new Scene in Sweden....Deeper, more backwards towards a more darker thinking about the ancient Northern Gods. No Odin, but Fenrir. Ginnungabap(Endless Void but Eternal Darkness)....Since then there are lots of Bands in Europe which are follow this Way of thinking....They dont need Satan...knowledge over all. Asgard in Flames...We have won. Check out Myling, Ormgard,Wagner Ödergard,Sons of Fenris, Nawaharjan and the likes...You will find more than than Enlightment but a complete total Darkness if you dare🤩
Well it was only one or two listens through and lyrics are unimportant to me in general, so the anti-cosmic themes came across via the artwork and music mostly, not the lyrics. I'll be buying the following album too.

I absolutely love Blind Guardian. Hansi is such a cool and relaxed dude and still got powerful pipes.
worst band ever
This Stormlord Album is epic! Also the 2 albums after that one. Perfect Black Power Metal!
I might check more out!
The Metal Market looks grouse! Wish we had something like that here in Melbourne!
It's good fun!
Of all the cities in Australia you'd expect Melbourne to have something like that...I'm surprised you don't
Pestilential Shadows sounded awesome. As did Ulcerate (so very jealous of this show). Hoping I can see both bands someday!
Great gig!
Love Arckanum 🤘. Jealous of you to been able to attend an Ulcerate gig. Il hope one day I will be able to see them live. Great video again as always 🔥
It was suffocating!
😂
You certainly said "metal" a lot in that intro. Great video. I love Ulcerate. Want to see them in November.
Golgothan Remains thanks for showing this band - they have a huge future...in 10yrs bigger than armoured angel.
Great band!
Great video man, drooling at those record shops!
It was a fun day out!
What a great day and metal community there!
Very fun!

The Darkthrone EP is also a banger!
I would not have picked that from the cover!
I'm adopting "Metal mates".

I'm the same, and I think these two BG albums are solid as is the first Helloween, so start with those.
Last gig I went to was Demelich in 2018 ! I don't got to gigs anymore due to anxiety. Anyway love those records shops mate, we don't have anything like that here.
I don't get to too many these days because I like sleep too much.

The blue album cover that you pointed out with the cool art is Deathless by Revocation. Heavy fucking shit dude, I’m surprised you haven’t heard em!!
I saw a bunch of Revocation there, they've toured here heaps
Early BG is the best but I like all eras probably my second fav speed power band behind Helloween 🤘🤘
Nice one, figured you might!
Love poison.
Ew lol
You missed Deathwish on CD for $15! Essential!
It is! But that is also my copy that I traded in there because I picked up the original press vinyl haha.

I have considered it before, damn I would get all those pronunciations wrong lol
Dusktone are from Torino, Italy, I think. There is another band from their roster that you should know called The Bishop of Hexen.
Oh I've heard of that name, cool will check it out.
You passing up all the good shit. 😂
Such as? I possibly already have it
But have you picked up "House Of The Black Geminus" by Akhlys
In the post soon!

Like I said, cinnamon! Preferably hot
I have the Demo from Perished OG copy of course cause I'm kvult🤣🤣
Awesome
A band called Condurus (sic) is mentioned at around 5.12. I have never heard of this band. What is the correct spelling please?
Conjureth! Great band
Thanks
If I was withi you I would have forced you to pick up that Perished "Seid" album on LP.
Ok I got to the later part of the video and HEY there we go!
Man it rules!
You own any war metal (bestial black metal) albums?
Yeah got a couple Blasphemy, Teitanblood, Antichrist Siege Machine, Profane Order, a bunch more.
Hammerfall did a cover song from Stormlord.
Hah! I guess that shows how far they eventually lean into power metal
@@ExplosiveAction Definitely
ulcerate sounding more post rock than Death Metal these days meh , Pestilential Shadows tho are great.
I can see that in a way, but they are far more dense and the sound swallows you up. Pestilential are outstanding.

Yes the darker side of Norse mythology is a far more fitting to bm than the good boy side... excellent comment

Simon… you’ve laid the foundation, yet you keep dancing around the obvious. It’s time to…. EMBRACE THE CHEESE!!!!!
I embrace the cheddar, maybe a little brie, but I'm in no way prepared for the full gorgonzola.
