A small act of kindness via voluntary donations can go a long way towards providing basic necessities for the people of Obiagu.
You can donate through this link : paypal.me/ebohmedia?country.x=AE&locale.x=en_US

Okay, so I finished watching your so called documentary video and the way you QUESTIONED the residents made me very uncomfortable...Baba, told you he was not of this world, just a guest passing through...THIS WAS HIS COPING MECHANISM OF DEALING WITH EXTREME POVERTY FOR SO LONG, NOT BEING ABLE TO FULLY PROVIDE FOR HIMSELF AND FAMILY...FOR YOU TO BADGER HIM ABOUT BATH WATER WAS NOT RIGHT!!! IT WAS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE TO WATCH...These are the minimum things that they ARE ABLE TO CONTROL... BATHING AND MEALS..HE SHOULD HAVE GIVEN YOU A DIRTY SLAP!! WHERE IS THE DIGNITY AND RESPECT..HE JUST FINISHED BATHING AND WAS NOT EVEN PROPERLY DRESSED..PLEASE SHOW PEOPLE DIGNITY AND RESPECT..YOU ARE IN THEIR HOOD!!! YOU WANT ALL THEIR INFORMATION TO PUBLISH ALL OVER THE INTERNET, YOU COULD HAVE AT LEAST BROUGHT SOMETHING TO GIVE THEM....I SINCERELY QUESTION YOUR MOTIVES...THIS LOOKS LIKE EXPLOITATION TO ME...AND ASKING THE LADY HOW MANY KIDS SHE HAD?? HOW MANY KIDS DID YOUR MOTHER HAVE??? HAVING KIDS IS NOT A CRIME...GOD TELLS US TO BE FRUITFUL AND MULTIPLY, REPLENISHING THE EARTH...HE DID NOT SAY ONLY MULTIPLY IF YOU ARE RICH... SHE OBVIOUSLY FELT SOME SORT OF WAY ABOUT REVEALING THE NUMBER OF KIDS SHE HAD...BEFORE YOU DO ANOTHER DOCUMENTARY, WHY DON'T YOU TAKE A SENSITIVITY COURSE...ARE YOU SURE YOU ARE BEING LED OF GOD TO DO THIS?? OR ARE YOU TRYING TO DO THIS ON YOUR OWN..THE WAY YOU RELATE TO THE LESS FORTUNATE IS HORRIBLE...AT LEAST GET SOME WOMEN ON YOUR TEAM WHO ARE COMPASSIONATE AND HAVE TRUE EMPATHY FOR THE POOR...AS A MAN, YOU PAID PEOPLE TO GUIDE YOU THROUGH THE HOOD...A WOMAN WOULDN'T DO THAT...MEN ARE WEIRD...AS A MAN , YOU BROUGHT NOTHING WITH YOU TO PASS OUT FREELY TO GIVE THEM...A WOMAN WOULD HAVE BROUGHT DIAPERS, OR BABY FOOD OR TOYS FOR THE KIDS...MEN ARE WEIRD...AND THEN AS A MAN, YOU HAD THE AUDACITY TO GREEDILY EAT THEIR FOOD OPKA, KNOWING IT WAS HIS BUSINESS, SOURCE OF INCOME...MEN ARE WEIRD...A WOMAN WOULD NOT HAVE DONE THAT...A WOMAN WOULD HAVE FOUND SOMETHING NICE TO COOK FOR THEM TO EAT...MEN ARE WEIRD...AS YOU CAN SEE, I HAVE A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH HOW YOU CONDUCTED YOUR DOCUMENTARY ..YOU NEVER GO EMPTY HANDED ANY WHERE...LET THE AUDIENCE SEE YOU GIVE THE PEOPLE FIRST...SHOW THE JOY ON THEIR FACES AS YOU GIVE THEM...BUT MAYBE IT'S A SCAM ?? WHO KNOWS?? I see you have all of your banking details..😂😂😂...IF THIS IS NOT A SCAM, GO BACK TO BABA AND THE LADY WITH 7 KIDS AND TELL THEM TO GIVE THEIR BANKING DETAILS OR PHONE NUMBERS, I WANT TO GIVE TO THEM DIRECTLY, NO MIDDLEMAN

That's where I was born and raised. The house directly behind where the okpa guy was sitting, was my bunk. A lot of fun memories were created here. Brings tears to my eyes watching this video. Many Igbo great men and women were either born here or raised in this hood. I still try to pay a short visit each time I am around. All they ask for is just water supply and electricity and life is manageable within this great hood. Keep it up my friend.

Wow! i grew up in Afia 9 obiagu. Obiagu is Enugu's main ghetto. Something like Ajegunle in Lagos. Its proximity to Esut, UNEC and IMT makes it a perfect low cost off campus residence for students. Most of the poor kids from the area are inspired by the students to want to get at least a university education. A lot of the ghetto kids are now lawyers, doctors, engineers, accountants and more, and are scattered all over the world.

Obiagu belongs to Nike indigenous people called ogui Nike. They have the largest land mass in Enugu metropolitan. And sells those lands at will but insist that they'll never move out from there village because of civilization that is why the place is looking like that. Check out the kind of cars most of them drive. Some of there tenants look poor but they themselves have bigger land's in there own village but they prefer to live in urban area. Obiagu is one of the disadvantages of urbanization with out planning but they are not poor people.during festivities most of their tenants travel to there own villages to celebrate with their people then obiagu will be Left with only the indigenous people. Government has to resettle the entire villages to be able to mondernize the place which is a difficult task. Because it's Their heritage. Please do more research.

Yes, we have many homeless people in not just California but all of the United States, and many people live paycheck to paycheck - but they at least get paychecks. All ancient cities or towns of any substantial size in Nigeria have places like this. They are usually in the oldest parts of our ancient cities. This is where the people used to live from centuries back. Children from these old neighborhoods grow up, got education, and moved out year after year. Or people become upwardly mobile, and move to new areas springing up. Then the poor people move in.

As an 042 boy, I can say that Obiagu is not that dangerous. Most students from ESUT and IMT lived there and the interactions with the students made a lot of kids from Obiagu to aspire to be graduates.
Obiagu is actually a village in Enugu, a part of Nike town so it is some people's actual hometown. I once met the daughter of the King of Obiagu when I was still a student at Nnamdi Azikiwe University and she was studying at UNN. That's how I knew it was the actual village of some people, just like Amechi Awkunanaw.

Our people are suffering all over Africa like this - without basic living necessities, water & electricity - while the upper class rich & political figures claim to love their own - this is why we are where we are.
We definitely have an obligation to rebuild once you’re in a position to… less clubs & leisure & more actual developments that will further us in the right direction.

    • @fmacauley4622
      @fmacauley4622 2 года назад +2

@Sapphire 💜 I mean that’s a bit on the emotional side but I get you… but looking at things practically without feelings… every nation I’m about to name, the leaders aren’t perfect and there are under the table deals, we know that - but with the likes of Dubai, UAE, China, USA, & other developed nations… hatred and jealousy will live among human beings until we all perish it’s just how it’s gonna be. But the leaders in said nations understand the basic and complex necessities that need to be put in place for a thriving community. Wrong priorities and wrong leaders that lead their people blindly into more poverty & distress is what we have.
Gotta face reality sapphire, Africa has all it needs to be at least be self sufficient (let alone a world power) and play on a world level but with everything we have we are still living like we’re in the late 1800’s

Papa is not of the world
I'm really shocked that all of them are so comfortable in the hood n not willing to leave, it only means one thing, there is security and peace of mind.I really pray their needs are being granted to make them more comfortable

Very interesting. People have just come to accept the very least that is available to them. How sad. Thank you for sharing - from South Africa.

I feel so sad watching this video. In 2022, a town or most towns in Nigeria, are still in this deplorable state. So what's the point electing government officials? Mud houses, dirty and eroding streets, no electricity, no water. How do you expect to stop crimes when people are living in the kind of situations?
Anyway, kudos to the guy that created this content. We need more of this. 👍

Despite being the hood it looks like residents keep there area clean , I didnt see big trash piles or open sewers , it looks like a community of working class type individuals, there houses are neat looking as well not shacks. This could be the next great business district if care was taken to the infrastructure water and electricity

Wow, watching this video makes me so thankful for what I have although I live paycheck to paycheck. These poor folks don't even have the basics of water and electricity but they still are maintaining with the little they have. Why the govt doesn't supply water lines and electricity and repair the roads? Its just sad to see people living in those conditions. We in the US take so much for granted like having the water running down the drain while brushing your teeth and not even a 2nd thought while these folks need running water. My God. 🙏

true at least those who hv made it should put at least 6 or more boreholes for water ND at least put some solar lighting help their poor folks.

Those who came out the hood and became millionaires worked hard and know that giving money to people doesn't alleviate poverty.
