I legitimately don't know how to feel about this one. (Aside from obviously saddened and horrified).In very short order this series I stumbled upon had without fail been able to put a smile on my face making it easier to come out of a dark place. This one.... Was the polar opposite of that effect. Kudos for being able to make us care about characters we see for such a short amount of time, but aside from that... I don't know what else to say.

Seriously this is an incredible series I mean we literally only see like five or six people in Sud City. Hear about every single one of the 4,432,201 breadsticks who existed for a minute but had entire lives. The first one was just doing simple 9 to 5. And that a mother and her child in the park and a couple just vibing their apartment. It's insane. The entire video isn't even 2 minutes and we are emotionally wrecked.

Wow ok I wasn’t expecting a dramatic episode but you did it very well ! You have the characters that even if you don’t know them, you are still sad for them, along the music that fits very well
I must say, that is some quality animation !

this one minute animation is one of the best arguments for nuclear disarmament i’ve ever seen, the sheer horror and brutality is astounding…
Counterpoint, this emphasizes the opposite. A mad man or senseless tyrant needs only one WMD made in secret to cause this kind of suffering. Disarmament means we have to have trust in EVERYONE to not violate the terms of a hypothetical disarmament treaties. So we get a North Korea that just doesn't give a shit about the rules, and we go from being safe from such weapons to facing an enemy with uncontested nuclear supremacy. But when all the major world powers have nukes, we can rest assured that anyone who would be willing to use such weapons can't because they would achieve nothing but thier own simultaneous destruction. Mutually assured destruction doctrine means our enemies can build nukes in secret or in blatant violation of international law, but they still can't use them or else they will also face annhilation. While it would be nice to exist in a world without such weapons, I would rather have them and not need them than need them and not have them...

This hits different considering recent events.
I was half expecting the flier to be hinting at the amount of episodes, with each episode a number gets taken till the paper/season ends, then a new flier goes up with the newer style for season 2 with whatever big wow factor you had planned
Maybe I'm thinking too much in videogame design roadmaps though, that might be a taller order than requested
Putting aside how horrifying this episode was, I am really curious about the Auxium lady appearing in every episode since, even in the alternate Elf dimension. Maybe she's a manifestation of something that was implanted in Employee 61's head which is why she can follow her anywhere? Kind of like the beginning of the Hive Mind stuff.

So I zoomed in on the computer screen of the programmer guy in bath town and I am amazed.
I'm not an expert on Python which I think is the language he is using but holy damn does it look so correct. Every line ends with an ";", the file structure of the projects looks like many project structures I have worked on.
This is insanely high effort and dedication to a part of the vid that only a tiny minority of viewers will even notice. You have my respect.

Как ни странно, но я бы даже хотел, чтобы подобные "артефакты" были в нашей жизни, чтобы люди о важном не забывали, могли наглядно, достоверно и эмоционально прочувствовать подобное и жить дальше, делая всё возможное всем миром, чтобы не совершить ошибок прошлого. Мир и так полон огня и тьмы, так ли хочется нам их прибавлять на самом деле? Мне кажется нет.
Полностью согласен, хотя я и не люблю разговаривать на такие темы, но знаю, что поднимать их нужно, мне бесконечно больно от факта постоянного взаимного насилия в нашем мире и подобные работы как раз могут донести до людей правильные мысли и возвать к их сочувствию и страху, что поможет избежать или хотя бы быть готовым к подобным катастрофам

Oh my god at first I was thinking I was going to very fun I was not expecting to get all emotional, but wow you really just took my heart and ran with it.

This wasn't even a rollercoaster ride, it was a comet zig zag journey from up to straight down, and I loved it!
Such darkly funny great detail for the sud city and it's brief existence, very well done!

On the bright side, they died without pain.
When an individual is within a certain radius of a nuclear blast, the body is destroyed so quickly it leaves behind a nuclear shadow. A still frame of ash that captures an individuals final second of life.
For example, imagine a little girl jumping rope, she’d be reduced to ash mid jump. In her place, where her shadow would’ve been, an outline of ash capturing her shape perfectly.

This is why showers are really good. depending on your showerhead, you could literally feel the water falling on you like rain and not nuclear fallout from the worlds most darkest bath bomb.

Man at Cubicle: Tired of his day-in and day-out, emotionally draining job as a software programmer, the man was looking forward to spending the night with his girlfriend in celebration of her promotion. All he had to do was finish a series of codes, and then he could spend the night drinking champagne at the fanciest restaurant in town with the love of his life. As he was finishing his last code, his mind played over and over how he'd present to her the diamond ring waiting in his jacket pocket. Sadly, just as he was finishing up for the night, he saw a bright flash from his office window and saw the explosion.
Mother and Daughter: After a terrible divorce from an abusive husband, the mother's only goal was to provide for her mute daughter. For years she struggled to hold down a job and win back custody of her daughter, who was socially withdrawn after the experiences. When she finally won at court, the mother enrolled her daughter into the school's soccer program - for which the mother had been a member of, having won several trophies during her high school years. With her daughter nervous about her first game, not wanting to let down the first friends she'd made at her new school, the mother took her out to the park to train and have fun. Sadly, just as the mother had finally had a happy moment in her chaotic life and saw her daughter smile, she saw her daughter look off in the distance scared and heard a terrible explosion erupt behind her.
Newswoman: After having studied and worked hard for her journalism degree, even working three jobs to pay her way through college, she'd finally got the chance to work at SSN, but only as an assistant to the news anchor, who was always loading too much work onto her. But she persevered in the hopes that she'd one day get her dream job. Years later, the news anchor retried after having worked at SSN for 30-40 years and, in a surprising twist, helped in her getting the job, as they'd only been pushing her to make sure she'd be able to handle the responsibilities the job demanded. Sadly, the first day of her dream job (and the night of her date with her boyfriend) would be on the day of the explosion. Her first news story would turn out to be her last.
Couple: Having lived in a run-down apartment complex since they were together in college, the high school football coach and his SudTube animator wife had finally afforded enough to rent a new home. After going through boxes and setting up furniture, the couple was happy to be starting their new lives, especially with their soon-to-be-born child on the way. Sadly, as the television was interrupted by the SSN, their happy new lives were cut short by the announcement of an explosion.
... I already have mild depression. Thanks for the kick in the feels.

I watched today as a pickmeup and this one just kicked me in the goddamned guts and left me feeling even worse .. and their look at the 'remains' at the very end? yeah uhm .. i will not be able to trust these vids anymore . . . .
kudos for having the skill to take your audiences places but .. this was such a flip of what these vids usually are that if I was told that this video was hacked I think I would believe you!

I don't know if it was done on purpose but having the nuke rise from the "sea", as a ball of light could be interpreted as a comparison between a nuclear bomb and the Sun.
Since they both function the same way but one represents the endless cycle of day and night while the other represents the end of civilisation.
