- Here is a simple bushcraft and survival trap which can be made with very little resources. The spring pole snare uses a green sapling, some cordage, a trigger stick, bait stick and a hooped stick to hold the snare together. Be sure to check local laws and bylaws before making any form of trap or snare. This video is for educational purposes only.

Always nice to see more of you mate :)
Boishcroift Toips!
Well worth the watch. Loads of information to help in a sticky situation. LOL get it, sticky.
I remember my childhood days in the late 80's. Me and my friends are making that same trap in the woods for wild chickens. We set up the traps early morning and put some sweet corns as our bait then come back late afternoon to check the traps. We catched some chickens but often failed to catch. Bring back some old memories. Thanks for the video Mike!
Loving these little vids 😊
Always wanted more videos from you hope this channel brings them 👍
That's a really nice snare. Great new channel, Mike... ❤️👍
Mike I just watched your other channel,I love what u and your dad have completed on the shelter I'm so glad u incorporated the elm tree trunk. Snare traps are great to use.
And if you’re wonder how we pronounce ‘Life of Mike’ in Malay. We call it ‘Gaya hidup Mike’. Anyway, thanks for your tips Mike. Looking forward for your next video. Love from Malaysia 🇲🇾
What does it mean when a Brit calls someone a beast? i’m just asking you Mike this question because quite some time ago back I was watching your TA outdoors and you said something about making an oven and one of your hutch’s you were building. I made a suggestion of you looking up Shawn James with my self-reliance on RUclips to check out the Earthen oven he built for himself in his outdoor kitchen in on his old property and old cabin. Someone replied back that he was a beast. I didn’t know how to take that so I didn’t ever say anything back. I just took that as maybe it was a compliment, but it’s always been in the back of my mind that maybe he was putting down Shawn James. I can tell you this. I have learned an awful lot from Shawn James and his outdoor life and his forest management. He’s very good at what he does very knowledgeable. It’s all I got to say that.😊
Nice Mike. Used to make snares when I was a kid, never caught anything but at least I was outside in the fresh air. Hope you don't mind Mike I reported three scammy bit coin posts on this.
Cheers Paul! Always a few of those comments.
I remember making similar traps when I was a kid, but not for animals, for people!
Elaborate contraptions that hit them with a thin branch in the back of their heads, just to spook them a bit
This was brilliant ! When I was younger me and my brothers would snare rabbits this way .My Father taught us this and how to clean them and my Mother would make us feel so validated by cooking up our catch. Indeed what a wonderful skill to have, Cheers Mike and thank you for the video.
Keep it up!
Cheers!
Fantastic Mike! I gave this a try today and it worked brilliantly mate. A great tutorial and would be a life saver if you would ever need to use it I'm sure. Thanks pal 👍
Ace stuff cheers Mike
Thanks Freddy
Well I hope that by here you can see my comments, and answer... Hello, Mike, here Agata. 👋
Thank you, Mike! It's very sad than you didn't see any comments of me... Very sad... But... Well... Thank you.
I understand!
Subscribed. 😁
Welcome aboard!
Just as a matter of interest, some traps and snares are actually illegal to use in some places. In Australia I think it varies from state to state but if it was a matter of survival, I wouldn't care about the legalities of it.
@@BlackshacksBushcraft Yep, I am very aware of this. I have more videos coming up on it, and laws are tight in the UK on snares and traps. Most are illegal. But like you say, if in a survival situation it's good to know.
Remember making those in the scouts. Brings back memories. Btw Mike what watch do you have?
Thanks. It's a Garmin Phoenix 6 Pro I believe
is that a new knife
its a shame you dont go to other countries and do Survival and bushcraft things as be awesome to watch
Once my kids are a bit older I will. At the moment they’re so young I need to be around family and help support them all
@@LifeofMikeOfficial would be awesome to watch mike , and kids always comes first :)
👋😎👍
Life of Mike is not an unique name, nor does it come up when you search...Just so you know. Looking forward to see how this develops! /Henrik, Sweden
I'm with Henrik it was a bit hard to find was surprised at how many Mike channels there are out there
Thanks for the feedback Henrik. I believe it’s not coming up in searches yet as the channel is only 1 week old. It should come up in searches in a few weeks time. You’d be amazed how many rip off “TA Outdoors” channels there are. But thankfully my main channel is well enough established now that they don’t get seen as much. Thanks for following along this channel!
@@LifeofMikeOfficial This video came to my RUclips channel. Maybe because I’m subbed to TA outdoors it offered this one too. Are you going to turn this channel into your main channel?
Agreed! I was typing Life of Mike but got a different results. So what i did was going to one of TA Outdoors video that was uploaded last week and directly go to the comment section where Mike put the link of this channel.

Wrong channel? ;-) 😁 Doesn't something like this belong to the TA Outdoor channel?
