I love how open you are with sharing your discoveries and results-BUT I think it is very important to compare products with similar ingredients in all fairness. Just because a product says “plex” doesn’t mean it can repair the hair. Olaplex is patented and that sets it apart. I think comparing conditioners is fair but Olaplex is in a category of its own and you will definitely get your money’s worth in what it does. 💗
Olaplex is NOT in a category all of its own. Multiple brands have had products simular to this for many years. Call some highend salons and ask what's available besides olaplex. There's been bond support, bond repair and so on professional products for years. I'm always surprised when self proclaimed olaplex experts have no knowledge of the industry alternatives since they've been widely used for so many years. I'm not on here saying a product whatever brand of products are more effective in repair or building bonds or any other claims. I'm simply stating the obvious that olaplex is NOT in a category all on its own. Perhaps do some actual research before you deem yourself knowledgeable.
@@heidiguttenberg olaplex is not in a category all on its own. I find this hilarious when people state this. Just like every industry and every product on earth, diferent brands are different quality. If one is particularly better at a claim the the other, it doesn't make the product/brand suddenly in a category all on its own. There are many options besides olaplex and has been for a while. Lol
Hi Jillian, yes, Olaplex is in a category by itself as it is the only patented product that has ever been on the market that relinks broken disulfide bonds. Other products do help hair in other ways such as adding protein or moisture. Before Olaplex was invented there was no product that could relink broken disulfide bonds in the hair. These bonds are broken when chemicals are used as well as when excessive heat, aggressive styling and exposure to the elements such as wind and sun occur. This is why Olaplex has a patent and is the only product available to relink these disulfide bonds. The other bonds in the hair(saline and hydrogen)are broken with water and relink when hair dries naturally. The disulfide bonds do not relink naturally after breaking and after they break they can stay broken and create cysteic acid in the hair which eats away at the protein causing weak hair and breakage. Olaplex is the only product that can prevent this from happening by relinking these broken disulfide bonds preventing cysteic acid from forming in the hair and it is patented. Other products are what have been on the market for so many years which cannot do this. Hope this helps you understand a little better. 💗
I am so very sorry that your wallet got stolen! People are ruthless! I watch your videos ALL THE TIME but I have yet to comment! I truly love watching you! Thank you for all of the work that you put into these videos! They are so informative!
Oh dear here we go again, another hair care video, terrific! Just because of you, I got Olaplex #3, Absolut Repair mask from L'oreal Professinnel, Masketatine from Kerastase, WOW Dream Coat, the black hair clips(got in Brazil on my last trip) and the Tangle Teezer brush. Now I am looking forward to purchase the Smartbond Conditioner, the Olaplex #6, Mythic Oil hair mask. I just love your recommendations, even when we have totally different hair type, all of the products I bought till now impressed me, so far so good Stunning Heidi 😘
Hi Heidi, your hair looks amazing after using the two step Fibreplex treatment. I like the fact that step one is mixed in with water, couldn’t be any easier than that huh, which is definitely a bonus. As I’ve still not tried the standalone Olaplex salon treatment yet (but I will soon 😃) I’ll be eager to hear your final thoughts on how the two products compare and if Fibreplex really is a dupe for Olaplex. Thanks for the update on the last review you did, glad you think that product is worth using again 😃. Take care and stay warm, it’s winter here in Perth to and it’s been pretty wet and cold which is kind of unusual for us but I LOVE winter so I’m not going to complain too much lol 😬 xx
excited to see the comparison video!! i have the smartbond duo and the active ingredient is the same in Fibreplex, but the fibreplex has some amino acids in and i guess that makes the difference.
Me encantan tus videos.
Día a día.
I have used Olaplex before and during to COVID I haven't been able to find it. I watched your review of Fiberplex, so I bought it. Hope it helps my damaged locks as it did yours.
Hola Heidi.
One of the things I loathe about Amazon is this is on there for over £95. So ridiculous. Your hair looks great, so great performance from the brand. :) I use olaplex 3 and pay £16 to £34. It's pretty good stuff and the shampoo and conditioner are also good.
Crazy right? Glad you’re enjoying Olaplex as well. It’s always nice to hear others’ thoughts and experiences since we all have different hair types and needs and expectations.
So sorry to hear about your wallet. Your hair looks amazing and thank you for sharing your experiences with different hair treatment. Can you try "All hd Plex" sold at Amazon.
I am lucky to work from home, and so does my hubby. But It did, my Love. Olaplex is in its own category. No other “bond builder” Contains the same patented active ingredient (Bis-aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate) that has been proven effective. I would encourage people to check out the MSDS sheets on all products. You want to make sure you are using something that is truly effective as opposed to just coating the hair so it appears shiny/soft! Silicones and oil’s are merely a Band-Aid solution whereas Olaplex truly rebuilds the broken disulfide bonds! Also, A link was posted to purchase Olaplex from Walmarts website... Walmart is literally being sued as we speak for knowingly selling counterfeit Olaplex products! You can google the article. Authentic Olaplex products can be purchased at Olaplex.com, Sephora.com or Sephora stores!
