  • Come along for the oil change on a 2019 Vermeer CTX100. I will show you what you need to make the oil change quick and easy as well as avoiding common pitfalls (that I learned the hard way) when changing the oil and oil filter. This CTX100 has the 40hp Kohler turbo diesel. Like and comment any questions below. Thanks for watching!

There was a metal copper colored ring in with the filter seals. Any idea where that goes?

That copper washer is for the drain plug on the opposite side of the oil pan. Disregard the use of this copper washer until you have to remove the J.I.C. fitting that Vermeer used on the CTX-160 to change the oil. These plugs were so tight, people are bending the oil pans causing oil leaks. Vermeer has since came out with a oil drain hose for $130.00 to combat this short fall.

What is the washer for? I see the oring bag had what looked like a brass washer in the bag. I just changed the oil on my CTX 160 and it had the same washer. Was not sure what to do with it.

If I'm not mistaken didn't that engine call for 10W-30? I thought that was what the manual said.

You are right. I spoke with the servicing technicians at Vermeer and they said they always use what I used perhaps because it's a diesel and not gasoline engine.

@@sylvangustin4170 I've always run 10w-30 Royal Purple Duralec Synthetic in my 100 and 160 in southern Alabama.
