Thank you so much for this build. I am having so much fun. My build is still incomplete but it's already very effective. I finally got to kill varshan in Torment for the first time and I am only level 80. Thanks!
Honestly its interesting to see the different takes on Charged Bolt and its paragon board. For the most part folks take the same aspects and uniques while stats are slightly different. The Paragon board between everyones take on it are very different however. Some felt less tanky and more damage while others like mine had more tank. Charged Bolts is definitely not fully figured out yet and it shall be interesting to see how it evolves as more seasons come. Always enjoy your take on things Aya.
This has been the best build I’ve tried yet. Even with a similar charge bolt build, I was able to do a nightmare dungeon 15 levels higher with this build. Even though my build is still incomplete and I’m trying to acquire some items I can see it only getting better. Thank you.
Do you have a build for Spear of Lycander and Shako? With the holiday boost, a lot of players will have both Ubers, and there are a lot of paragon nodes that take advantage of the stun effect. I would be interested to see if you choose ball lightning as the build vs choosing chain lightning with the addition of the melted heart uber. I'd also be interested to see what PVP builds you like across fire, cold, lightning.
I don't recommend to use Spear of Lycander as we need the Staff of Lam Esen in this build. You can remove the Snowveiled Aspect to use Shako, while keeping the Disobedience Aspect and the Everliving Aspect if you have 3 % Armor Stats and can reach 13500 Armor. Otherwise remove the Everliving Aspect and keep the Disobedience Aspect and the Snowveiled Aspect.
Yup since this build is melee + ranged it is more survivability by itself that we can go for more damage. If you don’t like the survivability you can always go back to 2 defensive legendaries.
That could be one way. One note that the new glyph benefits from Str/Dex/Wil too so taking all nodes around would be best. I am still optimizing for a best performance paragon board for Ball Lightning but it will be minimal changes to Charged Bolt. Stay tuned!
The Lilith kill I showed in the video is with close to perfect gear + all glyphs at level 21 that we can skip all her mechanics. Ball lightning builds are definitely better to crush Lilith.
Great explanation and thanks for actually showing your entire actual build unlike other youtubers ❤ but I have a question, is this build only recommended for S2 or would it work well on the eternal realm as well?
It works for eternal realm too. We will need more attack speed in eternal realm since we don’t have the ravenous vampiric power that gives 50-60% attack speed. I recommend updating the conceited aspect on amulet to accelerating aspect to get 38% attack speed.
True, what I do is to always cast evade to get +75% movement speed for 3s out of the 5s CD. Then 25%+75% already hit the 100% bonus movement speed cap. I can then get another good stat on amulet. If you find using evade all the time annoying then yeah movement speed stat on amulet is great.
May I ask why you use the power that gives attack speed? I feel like this build can’t really gain much from attack speed… I’ve been testing it with Hemomancy… it helps soften the big pack of elites and it also heals a bit comes in clutch sometimes.. i also switched infection for the one that gives you unstoppable when you evade (I’m still leveling and trying to get perfect gear so I’m pretty squishy so I made these changes to help me survive
Attack speed is the most important synergy in the build to improve Ball Lightning damage in enchantment. Infection is used for another Tal Rasha Ring stack.
I’m intrigued. I’m currently running Slaydra’s BL build and have his gear and setup almost exactly as he does but doing dungeons I’m having some mans issues yet at the training dummies I can cast all day long. I’m also quite squishy even in tier 85’s. I think with minimal gear changes I could try your build here. It’s looks much safer and less mana hungry. Plus positioning is much less a consideration. I do have a question though, how does this build do with suppressor and wallers?
Yup! Definitely agree with you. VS Suppressor is not great. I would recommend to avoid suppressor NM affix. It slows down our damage and is not worthy the time. One or two suppressors is fine to deal with in normal NM. Wallers are fine that this build can melt them too.
Everyone wanting shako which is great, but I have a feeling The melted heart of selig uber unique amulet is going to be absolutely necessary for abbotoir of zir. Also slydras version isnt that good the mana is unreliable and not using firebolt enchant is menacing, i tried slaydras the damage was lower and mana inconsistent, if u do BL use chain lightning and firebolt enchant with devouring blaze but keep esus ferocity, go back to crackling energy, it works so much better, and the charged glyph works very well with it.
Yeah if you find mana issues using frost bolt can be a temporary solution. You will lose one stack buff to conjuration mastery. When you can get infinite mana following what is described in the video, ice blades will be better damage.
ayajames thank a lot for this build but i have a question can you kill the butcher with this build ? in nm dunjon 100 he have pop 3 times and impossible to kill him :( and one other question if i equil thibault and the crown where i can get the arrogant aspect thank you a lot ?
Butcher is challenging for this build. It requires close to perfect gear to be able to kill him. If you have thibault and crown, the damage is enough that we don’t need conceited on amulet anymore but replace it with disobedience.
check 2:40, lightning spear is casted from ult. I use the key passive Overflowing Energy + Anticipation Vampiric Power + 2 Cooldown Reduction stats to get close to 0 Cooldown Ultimate.
I don’t have the ring and I need to run tests on it to see whether it will outperform a Storm Swell aspect + Crit Chance Ring. From my understanding of the description, it is less likely to outperform, especially bosses that can long time to defeat.
I’m about to hit 50 with my sorc and want to run this build. What do you recommend running starting out until I have the uniques required for this build?
There are a couple of options in the description of the video, under the “Other S2 Resources” section. If you have gravitational aspect I recommend Ball Lightning. If you have unbroken tether, Chain Lightning is great.
if you only use Shako while waiting for a tilbaults to drop, and have only one good diso(0.9+%) value aspect, I recommend putting it directly to amulet. Boss fight can take longer but mob fights are likely to be similar experience and you will be much tankier. If you have 2 good diso value aspect(like two 0.9+%), I recommend putting the lower one on pants so that when you have tilbault, you can use the other higher diso on amulet.
Temporarily you can replace the enchanter glyph with the new glyph in the first board and take all Str/Dex/Wil nodes around it as the new glyph benefit from them. Removing a few normal/magic nodes from that extra path in the 3rd board(enchantment master) should be enough. I am still optimizing for a best performance paragon board for Ball Lightning but it will be minimal changes to Charged Bolts. Stay tuned!

@@ayajamesayathis has to be a top build for me. Between your season one chain lightening and this build. Where would you put the new glyph at? Mines only level 3, but I replaced the exploit glyph with the new blood one.

One extra % Armor stat can be gaming changing. If you plan to use it, replace the infection vampiric power with the domination would be great since it provides poison damage.

Not sure, will need to verify once AOZ is out. In my opinion, the ball lightning build ruclips.net/video/7txU98DQF7g/видео.html is likely to perform better in AOZ as it needs much more damage than T100.
If i use Tib pants and Godslayer Helm for now do I still drop Conceit over Storm swell? or should I go Norm helm and switch conceit to amulet and Diso back to helm until if ever I get a shako?
If you use Tib + Godslayer, as I mentioned in the video as using two uniques 6:39 I recommend putting Disobedience on amulet to improve survivability. It will be less survivability than a Shako but if your disobedience value is high enough, the armor can still reach 13000 range with the combination of the Snowveiled Aspect. We will drop the conceited aspect, not replacing it with another offensive aspect like storm swell.
Depends on your current weapon item power. If your staff of lam esen's item power is more than your current weapon item power - 40, it should be good. Boss fight could need a little longer.
