The kicks were taken in front of our Gooners, with Martin Odegaard tucking home our first before De Bruyne struck the crossbar.
Trossard, Bernardo Silva and Saka all scored, before Ramsdale saved from Rodri, allowing Vieira the chance to win it, which he did to claim the silverware in dramatic circumstances, and spark jubilant scenes between our players and supporters.

the penalty was a bit slow but he went the right way
important that the captain takes the first penalty as well imo. The idea that they should take the fifth one is so outdated, as seen with Brazil in the World Cup for example. COYG!!!

@@A49926 He also made 2-3 key saves that kept out Man City goals. The header from Stones (which was right at him but hard). Definitely a must save. But then Foden's clear shot running on goal, and Rodri's header from the corner that followed. Too many Arsenal fans on social media claim Ramsdale is rubbish and need to be replaced, and thus welcome Raya. But they forget all the big time saves he's made to keep us in games. He's still young and can improve. I really don't think keeper competition makes sense. It's a different role and at almost every club there is clear #1 and #2. Two starter-quality strikers rarely coexist for more than a season.

The fact that the saved penalty was of Rodri after the game he had was the icing on the cake.
Yes, how he avoids yellow cards is baffling. Could have easily had 3 or more, and got none. Ref was terrible.

Saliba was a great player. Top class
Anyone else love viera's calmness, not even breathing fast due to nervous. LIterally showed KDB how a left corner spot kick should be done.

This game for me is the best Arsenal performance since a long time. Yes it’s not even the start of the season but City clearly wanted to win this so did Arsenal. There were something different from the previous times we played them, there were always a mistake that completely cost us the game. But Today there was nearly none. After we concede the goal, normally the players tend to stress and which make them more mistake prone. But Today for example, Saliba, Partey (the composed ones) were still doing there move perfectly and they rightly believed until the end. and Also being able to dominate the midfield times from times against City is insane. Rice and Partey in the midfield will be unplayable when we put them together when we don’t want to concede any more goals. I think some people don’t realize that we keep getting better, towards the end of the season we were not good enough but we are better right now, than any other moment during last season. Really props to Arteta for preparing this game this well. The reason why we lost to Man u and drew the other pre season games isn’t bc we aren’t good enough, it’s because Arteta was getting the best of their player and wanted to know what he wanted to do against City and for the season. If we won all those game normally like we always did. Maybe we wouldn’t have won this one
I am happy that arteta cracked the code to city. Did you notice that arteta played rice as holding defensive mid and which gave partey a sort of freedom this was brilliant move by arteta as rice struggled a bit when he played no 8 going forward role. Agree that now we can easily dominate midfield with this setup. But one thing arteta need to do to seal the games in first half is to start trossard for God's sake, he is soo good man!!

The crowd in this game were wild. Probably 10:1 in Arsenal’s favor. The atmosphere was absolutely electric in the stadium.

Out of all of Arsenals pens, Saka's was the worst. He was lucky the keeper didn't go the right way or that would have been an easy save. Don't know what that commentator was on when he said it went "right into the corner"?? Mikel please don't let Saka take any more spot kicks! It's cost us already once and will do again.
