Notes like this are an intended and already extremely simple use for masking tape? Just cut a short piece with scissors. This is making an already known use for this product harder to do (the tape will be very difficult to peel), more expensive (requires heavy machinery) and it wastes the roll which could be used as, you know, tape
cheaper and less wasteful alternatives include: just peeling off pieces of tape as you need them, paper and sticky tac, buying a label printer (way cheaper than the prerequisite bandsaw, so still cheaper overall), writing directly on the drawers, just remembering the contents of the drawers

This is such a great trick. I cut 4 brand new rolls into 4 pieces so all I have to do now is buy a couple bolt organizers because I have enough labels for 350,000 drawers. Such a lifesaver. 😀🖕

I tried this. It is impossible to peel off one piece of the tape at a time. The cutting process blends the edges together. Just fyi for any DIYers.

If you do this, cut the tape at an angle, otherwise it's impossible to only get a single piece of tape
You can make taking them off easier if you cut little triangles between each piece

Lable marker. $50 dollars tops for machine and 3 rolls of tape. It'll last a long time and it is 40x more satisfying
Tip: Use gaffer's tape. Lasts longer. Easier to work with.

Just get a label printer they're not that expensive and the result looks 10x better
