Sir I have scored 97% in jee and am from Karnataka, ews. I am quite sure that I could get some branch in nitk surthkal. Sir but I am not satisfied with it and am planning to take a drop, but everybody who knows some or the other thing about jee is against my decision of taking a drop. They present the fact there is only 5 odd months for the next jee attempt in their favour. They suggest me to go into any branch in nitk. But I am not convinced sir, I am sure that if I work hard enough this year I would be able to score 99% and even manage to get into a decent iit in a good branch. I am in a serious dilemma not knowing what to do, whom to ask and whom to follow. Sir I need your thoughts on my situation.

I couldn't crack Jee. I prepared for boards only. But, I don't want to take drop. I just have 4-5 months in hand to prepare for 1st attempt of Mains. And I am bored out studying Pcm. So ,I don't think that I will make it. I would rather join college & work more harder there.

Currently passing from BE in computer science from sppu University in 2024
I got 81 percentile and that was because i was only able to complete 50-55% syllabus in total i am sure i can get 95+ in drop if i complete 90% syllabus for mains . I didnt follow my teachers and thus lack of guidance.

I don't think so. I think you are left with two jee mains attempts and one advanced attempt. It's because the number of drops doesn't depend on how many attempts you gave but it depends on which year you passed your 12.
Let's say you have passed 12th in 2021, so you have only three jee mains attempt 2021(which is all ready over), 2022 and 2023, and for jee adv. you have only 2021 and 2022 attempt. So regardless of your number of attempts you can't give jee mains 2024 or hee adv. 2023..

Sir, my mother passed away on 19th January this year and since then my focus and academics was all lost for about 2 months and my 11th syllabus isn't prepared well (only about 20-30%) due to subsequent lockdowns between 2020 -21.
My percentile in 1st attempt isn't any good ( around 53 percentile) and I hope to achieve around 80- 87 percentile in 2nd attempt.
So I really want a genuine piece of advise or guidance from you about whether I should take a drop or not? and if yes then what should be my strategies?

Sir, I have qualified NTSE level 2 this year, But I got distracted just like everyone else and now I dont think I can cover complete syllabus of mains before 1st attempt..... Should I get Drop or maybe focus on 4th attempt?
reasons of taking drop/ mistakes
1. never genuinely knew about IIT
2. too much social life (spending time with friends)
3. extended family coming home every month caused disturbances
4. not disciplined
5. did not study many chapters just bcz they looked scary
6. not solving pyqs and questions after every chapter
7. spent most of the time on maths in last month
8. extreme daydreaming
9. adulthood content 1 month before mains
10. wrong friend
11. not studying in structured manner
only in the last 3-4 months i started working hard, studying 8-9 hours per day, cutoff all my friends and family, gave a chance to the chapters that i was scared of. Increased my maths performance in 10 days from 66% to 91% so i feel i have the potential to improve much more.

If you are taking a drop or willing to take, please READ THIS COMMENT.
I was so interested to prepare for JEE during my 11th. But, I never knew about the caste system and reservation in these exams. After coming to 12th, I came to know about the caste system.
I scored only 92 percentile in my third session and as usual waiting for my 4th session result.
JEE was being conducted since decades. And just think of the number of people whose lives got wasted because of reservation.
I fortunately appeared for TS EAMCET 2021 and secured 4299 rank (out of 150,000+ people). I would be going for that and gonna join the colleges with that.
If IIT is your dream, you can take a drop if you haven't succeeded. Because you have to live your life in your own way. But, as mentioned, you cannot get into IIT with drop.
I just lost hopes on JEE because of reservation.
I have given my BITSAT too. My score was terrible anyway. (226/450).
The best thing about BITS is "no caste system" or "no reservation"
Anyway I am trying for JEE Advanced

@@srivalli4238 Yes, I am from Telangana. I have actually left my EAMCET college Gokaraju Rangaraju for BITS Pilani Hyderabad. I finally landed in BITS Pilani. Also, I would suggest you to take long term coz you're telling me that you haven't studied anything. No second choice. Just study your 12th again and appear for boards next year. Don't waste your time and believe in yourself! All the best!

I have seen droppers getting to iit and many who dropped and then also got pvt colleges like.. also online studies in the start I wasn't serious... pls anyone give yr opinion... Current situation----Got 85.5 percentile in 3rd attempt and then dropped . Didn't appeared in 4th attempt outta fear to loose percentile. today finally wrote the mistakes from the list that sir told.. got 23/28.. thank you sir to make me actually realize the thing.. Hello sir , I'm currently in 12 standard .
My reason to take drop is because I have already planned to focus on cbse boards , learning only the basics this year and to prepare for jee in my drop year . Another reason is that although I have very clear concept of class 12 but still my class 11 concepts are weak so I would focus more on them in my drop year .
Usually I get distracted alot and you and your videos are a gem to watch . I could relate with most of the points and mistakes you pointed out in the video which children do ( like I get distracted alot , play games and social media for 3-4 hrs a day etc...) And I would definitely try to control myself from doing these mistakes from today itself.
Next week my preboard exams are starting and I know that not well prepared for them but I will try to do my best .
Your harsh words are like icing on the cake and always feel like I'm been told / scolded by someone who wants my own good ( like bade bhai and all)

BIOTECH Lelo bhai NIT Rourkela,3rd best NIT. Try to focus and improve in 1st year ,get 9 cgpa, get ur branch changed. Also It's TIER 1 Clg ,so learn coding skills ,u can too sit for tech Companies if u can't change ur branch after 1st year.
