So underrated....and easily one of the most inventive musicians out there. Yet all you hear about is page,hendrix,etc....I mean they are awesome but there are so many other greats that get overlooked...
imho he was fantastic back when I was in high school in 1970 when I remember rapping about Jethro Tull with some classmates. Yeah, Stand Up was a great album and his guitaring was just so great! :)
Martin has always been underground and underrated ..thats fine and the way he likes it.self taught.and really along with early Tull the sound of magical creative time's
Martin the Magnificent. Tully since This Was and when Martin came aboard the sky was the limit. The backbone of all things Tull. He is up there with the greats in my eyes. Have all of his solo works and attend his concerts. Thanks Martin for making the music that spoke to my soul.
I've said it before and I'll say it again...I loved Ian Anderson as a front man for Jethro Tull, but it's a shame his bandmates weren't more well known like other bands musicians. Martin Barre, Barriemore Barlow, John Evan, John Glascock...these were all world class musicians, yet unless you were a diehard Tull fan, you had no idea who they were. These guys all deserved to be respected and well known like other bands members were.
One of the most underrated classic rock guitarists ever.
His tone has always been identifiable as.......Martin Barre !!!! Such an underrated guitarist.......one of my faves always.....

I do believe Mr Barre is one of the very best guitarists to ever come out of the UK. Yet he's virtually forgotten...

Not to me...One of my main influences.
I am ok with the "forgotten" aspect. WE know how good he is and thank goodness! It's kinda like knowing a secret that no one else knows.
BONUS!
@@russellgalloway8049 yes that's the same with wishbone ash and budgie.
A joy to here these runs which nobody els plays . Fantastic giftet guitarplayer.
Great sound from a iconic guitarist

I love that guy...!!
One of my hero's growing up.
Absolutely fantastic
Awesome!
He does a few changes and tricks that make his sound and writing unique and recognizable; the sign of a true artist . . . and NO PEDALS

Martin Lancelot Barre is truly freakin incredible!!!!!!
Him and Barrymore Barlow…my goodness!
Shhhhhh, Genious at work
Very honest tone, good note choice, raw guitar :)
wow ;O)
Barre was and is better than page & clapton ever were....so much more enjoyable listen such great creativity...he is in Jeff Becks league
he can play other people's stuff easier than others can play HIS STUFF
Like wishbone ash he is sadly mostly unknown in America
mostly. ...that's where you and I come in...
Ian Anderson is great, but there is no Jethro Tull without Martin. Time to get those two back together
Love Martin's work. Just wish he'd get rid of the beard. Always reminds me of Gary Glitter!
He invented Barre chords!
