Blair's former minister furious with 'Stalinist' treatment of Diane Abbott | LBC

  • "Stalinist, authoritarian and ugly."
A former Cabinet Minister under Tony Blair has described the handling of Diane Abbott's suspension as an ‘unforgivably disgraceful way of humiliating her and mistreating her.’
Clare Short told Andrew Marr that she is no longer a Labour member because she'll be voting Green in order to give the party 'a shake'. Under their rules, membership is stripped of anyone advocating voting for any party other than Labour.
Diane Abbott, meanwhile, has insisted she will stand as an MP following reports she has been "barred" by the leadership from standing under the party's banner.

That's just one of a hundred examples of how wrong you are. The Tories would literally take away the vote from us all if they could, they certainly wouldn't expand the voting populace by lowering the age.

the problem is is about context... many MSM and journalism extracts the context from the details in order to push clickbait headlines to push a narrative against those they dont want to retain their position.... how many times has the Tory MP's said far more damning statements yet we are supposed to accept a "I'm sorry", something that is only ever offered from them when and only when it looks like they got caught out and repercussions are unavoidable
and we are expected to accept that "sorry" despite the lack of 'meaning' or 'genuine' intent behind it...
but when Labour accept Tory defectors into Labour with open arms, when those very same Tories have been involved in and responsible for so many corrupt cases and incidents but they refuse to accept MP's like Diane Abbott or Jeremy Corbyn because they stood for what is right and because they are Socialist.... I feel Labour has been infested by the right wing and centrist MP's and it no longer represents the Left Wing voters, we no longer have a voice....
    because the Right have
    Tories
    UKIP
    ReformUK
and the many other right wing focused parties...
now Labour and Lib Dem (for most part are right and centre right)
    Centrists have
    in part ReformUK
    LibDem
    SNP
    Labour
    Left have
maybe Greens and Independant parties... which are pushed to the point whereby they cannot get a chance of government under First Past the Post politics....
which is why the right and centrists hate the idea of PR
it's never about what is best for the people, or the country, or what's right.... it's about what IS better for those of wealth and power....
