Me too. The prices are of consequence to me. I'm impressed that Tony handles a fork French style. Is it customary to use the non-cutting hand for the fork regardless of whether the dish requires cutting or not? I can't get used to it. Merci beaucoup.

It's just around the corner from the hotel we always stay in. I've walked past it so many many times but never eaten there thinking it was too American. Now' I'll make a reservation thanks to you!

    Happy Birthday!
The food looked great, but quite expensive. Better value at Le Procope. And there's nothing wrong with topping your steak with the Béarnaise sauce, which is a typical French way to enjoy it, of course. When in Paris, do as the Parsiens do.

Looks very lovely, but, you are right, your typical Parisian wouldn’t eat there. Definitely for tourists. It’s very expensive for an average person’s budget. Maybe you could showcase some more accessible places budget wise? How about the Canal St Martin area …bit more quirky and bohemian? Le Marais? Lots of places in the 15th too. Thank you for your videos.

Back home I can have all the American food I can eat and talk to Americans any time. Why would I want to come to Paris and do the same? Such great French restaurants and food here, not to mention fascinating French people to chat with and help you with your French. Au revoir -Daniel (Paris)

This looks delicious and lovely, but it’s American fare. Go to one of the dozens of amazing French restaurants. Try L’ Ecrin at the Hotel Crillon for an amazing experience!

When in Rome, etc. quid Paname! I don't doubt the quality, nor the vibe. It can be amusing to check out home style references in a new context. This is not my type Paris though. There are so many more typical and atypical places much more to my liking, much more "intime". But hey, you really enjoyed this and that's what it's all about, n'est-ce pas?

I know that Tony was in the hospitality industry and the two of you appreciate the finer things of life no matter where; but I'm curious as to whether you dine or have dined at high-end restaurants in the U.S. I've been privileged to visit France about 8 times and two of the trips were all Paris, lasting about 10 days. At some point in the trip, we would be tired of French food and need U.S. style food. I noticed that the portions at Ralph's were more US sized, which means larger, than European size portions. I didn't realize that there were Ralph Lauren cafe' but I researched and there are locations in NYC, Chicago, Milan, and London (as well as perhaps elsewhere). This is actually not surprising because the fashion brands Chanel and some of the LVMH brands such as Dior and Tiffany have opened restaurants. Those establishments have their logo on food items such as pastries. Ralph's looked more low-key as far as the branding, but then old money understatement is the Lauren vibe.

Both of us worked in the hospitality industry but at different ends of the spectrum. Tony sold franchises for Arby's and as his job was basically all about wining and dining clients at high-end restaurants. He also owned a Juicy-Lucy franchise. I worked for The Boca Resort, which is now known as The Boca Raton, for over 15 years, which has caused me to be a bit spoiled when it comes to hotels and fine dining (meaning, my expectations for standards of excellence are relatively high).

Hello KJ and Tony, i have been watching a couple videos you have posted and some ideas crossed my mind. I would like to share a few with you, not all of them, just to help you in your journey. First of all i need to preface these comments by warning you that it will be different than the usual ones you read here, one of the reason is that I have been a French expat in the USA for the last 30 years... I am not sure that for you, middle call , middle age Americans from Florida, it was clever to "move" to France. In my experience, having organized exchange programs for years, that is not for everyone, especially if you cannot speak the langage. Most of the culture you may learn will be channeled through the langage, if you don t speak fluently or as it seems are not eager to learn, it will not go smoothly... Secondly, i can so much tell that you have not switched your lens to apprehend the french culture for maximum success... you still look and sound extremely Americain to me. Third, You don t drink alcohol... France is about wine and cheese to caricature, if you don t appreciate the culture of wine, Paris may not be the best place for you, especially if this decision is based on some sort of religious believes - French are very secular! It is like if I did not enjoy pop corn, hamburger and ketchup and i move to the USA to make video about food... a bit odd. Another clue,: you want to chat with the waiter... that is something that may be acceptable in the USA but in Paris, restaurant staff are very busy and focused, it's not usual for them to small talk (what i heard you sharing at the Procope for exemple). Last, what you seems to prefer is food that ressemble what you can find in the States or the way it's presented and cooked in the States... My friendly advise is to NOT move to France and if you enjoy the Eiffel tower, get yourself a first class ticket to Vegas and go eat some brisket and march mallows things in the Tower there, you will have a much better time, and avoid home sickness for sure. I hope you think about this before making a decision I can feel coming that may be catastrophique for you and your family.

Thank you, Pierre. It is always very interesting to hear the different perspectives people have of our lives (both American and French), what they think they know about us, and their opinions about what would be best for us. Merci ❤️

Hello. Is it the best restaurant in Paris? No ! According to Gault&Millau, the famous culinary critic, his cuisine is conventional, as meticulous as it is promised. However he gives it a score of 10/20. Among the best restaurants in Paris we find 114 Faubourg, Alleno Paris, Le Clarence, La Tour d'Argent.

I know this place and it is really beautiful. I guess those extremely high prices are for the ambiance they created. Ralph Lauren is not cheap to wear either. I still choke on $200 for a ribeye, even if it's for 2 people ☺
