I ❤️ my 2007 Honda civic with a 5 speed manual transmission. Bought it used about 4 years ago with 87k miles for $5,500. Currently, it has 120k miles. I do regular oil changes every 5K miles, and all the usual maintenance. That thing will easily go another 200k miles or more with no problems. It ain’t a screamer, by any means, but it’s fun to drive.
I had gotten a 2002 honda civic with 166k. I ran it for 10 years and put another bringing it to around 260k. I didn't maintain it the best but it was still running great. Treat it right and you'll have it serve you well for a very long time.

I would personally away from wrecked vehicles if you're buying next to new. Sure, there's always that one guy who strikes it lucky. Stay away unless the dealer is giving you the "full" bumper to bumper without any catches. I would also take out an extended bumper to bumper to be on the safe side. There are a list of things that can cause minor issues after a wreck, such as the suspension, that doesn't come out until a few months or years later. There's a reason why wrecked vehicles sell for less. It's like the person who buys a used Beamer and thinks they got the deal of a lifetime. 😅
My grand daughter has a 2018 Honda Accord Sport with 2.0 Liter Turbo, this car is very Fast . The only problem that I dislike is that it sets really close to the ground...
I have the same car and it does sit lower. But that’s part of the sportiness. The 2.0 is a gem of a car. They’ll never make Hondas like that ever again with 99 percent of their cars being 1.5L cvt transmissions. That 2.0 accord has the type r engine which you can tune and compete with mopar with v8 and bmws that cost 2-3x the price
My 2007 Honda Accord, 5 Spd Manual Transmissions, Bought it 120k Miles for $7k.... @230 Miles I Replaced clutch, Alternator, Belt and ofcourse Regulate maintenance....Now 402K Miles still runs like still new...😊😊😊
I'll keep my 2005 Mazda 6 isport & 2005 Mazda 6 S Wagon both have better exterior builds, stronger motors (the wagon can tow up to 3300lbs) & fun performance.
I was a body frame guy for yeaRS, AT THE VERY LEAST YOU SHOULD HAVE TAKEN A TRAM GUAGE TO ALL THE CONTROL POINTS UNDER THE HOOD. i HAVE REBUILD NUMEROUS WRECKS AND DROVE THEM FOR YEARS...
Love my 2.0 cvt 2022 civic. I use it for traveling and drive it once a week in town to keep the seals wet. Sticks were hard to find, but Im okay with the cvt
I've had my 11th gen civic for 2 years now and I love everything about it except at really low speeds it starts jerking and if I accelerate quickly it jerks as well. Not sure if that's a big issue but other than that I really love it.
If I leave trunk open for some time… I can not start battery. But why? It’s only 30 mins open. Or open 5-6 times for 3-5 mins each and then can not start why is this? My battery new. But why?
Honda in Asia engine used a 1.5L Turbo 4 cylinder for Civic, CRV, BRH, HRV & WRV. 2.0L tubo for Civic Type R. No more natural aspiration 2.0 & 2.4L from Honda. But TOYOTA still used same engine. 1.0L Turbo 3 cylinder Raize 1.5L inline 4 = Veloz, Rush, Vios & Yaris 1.8L Corolla Cross, Corolla sedan 2.0L Innova, Innova Zenix 2.5L Camry 2.5L Velfire & Alphard 2.8L Turbo Diesel Hilux, Fortuner Toyota Hybrid 1.8, 2.0 & 2.5
Maybe in Asia only but I work for Honda IAP (we build civics and crvs) and civics from sport to touring models now only have a 2.0 NA engine. CRV has 1.5T for petrol model only. We make more CRV hybrids then petrols. We also make the civic hybrid but that will be sent to Japan in mid 2025 and we will be getting the accord switching from Ohio assembly plant.
I love this 11th gen Honda civic even with 1.5t looks not too shabby and excellent interior design and their technology, in Middle East we have two options, you have a Sport top of the line, and the Type R. So it’s looks cheap car to buy, and with ADAS is way better than Corolla and Camry, the ride is comfy way better than Corolla. And it’s very economical car with 21.5 KM/L and the range with over 800 KM, I will sell my bmw and buying a new civic and accord and pilot
Scotty! I’m surprised at what you’re saying about snow tires. 99.9% of the time I agree with what you say on here. But no to snow tires!? I think you should do a test and make a video. I believe it will change your mind. HUGE difference.
LMAO just goes to show how easy you had it (not difficult to pay off as a single mother). 12k in 1984 is equivalent to $36,000 in October 2024. I have nothing nice to say
The MK10 1.0L Turbo charged Civic has problems with the wet belt, some scary stories out there. Was excited when it came out, when I actually got to go and spend my money and asking around, it was a no on that one.
Scotty Bhai, can you do a comparison video of mileage differences of the same car models with a CVT vs a Torque Converter? How much money do I save in a CVT car on a 1000 mile drive vs the Torque converter car on a 1000 miles?
@@AbidAli-bo8sv be honest, this was a used car. New cars don’t come with front end collision damage. So the car was already worth 10-20% less the day it left the new car lot. and in comparison to the same car that wasn’t in an accident, it will still be worth 10k less.
@@hectorheath9742a car that you buy that was owned by someone else and was in an accident is always a used car. Always. It WAS NOT a new car when he bought it! So he bought a used car that already had an accident. That’s already depreciated and lost value from the accident. No great deal.
It had 6k miles on it when the guy bought it, it was fairly "new" and was new to the guy. Just Semantics my dude, some of you people look for any reason to attack some on the internet.
@thomaskim5008 Do you not understand what semantics means or are you just arguing to argue? Smh. People can use a wording for other reasons. This was most definitely not a dealership sell and it really doesn't matter if he uses the word "new." Some people need to get off their high horse and just enjoy the content or move along.
@ You are doing the same. You are arguing to argue. The bottom line is the car is not new. According to you, a previous wrecked 2020 Camry with 50k miles is “new” since it is relatively “new” compared to a 1974 Corolla with 500k miles. Good luck with convincing anyone that the previous wrecked 2020 Camry with 50k miles is “new”. Hahaha
Im not so sure you get more power with a regular trans. Maybe a second 0 to 60. I pulled 7 a couple times with the CVT. Plus you dont floor CVT OR INJECTION to get thd best response. You got to learn your peadle preasure. But the Hondas CVTs are having sliping problems. Toyota makes great CVTS 11:41
I have this i4 2009 accord, it performs very well but it's a fuel guzzler, I tried using that reserve fuel and got just 27.8MPG before it went off. Note: I have changed air filters, flushed MAF sensor, changed plugs serviced nozzles and also change fuel pump & filter, currently there isn't any check engine code, am planning to change the 02 sensors, but it isn't I indicating any check engine on the dash, can anyone suggest what next to do, also so you know, am also using a ply tyres too,...
I love Scotty , I watch all his videos he's very informative and makes me laugh till the cows come home, but he must be on something while filming his videos. :) Keep it up Scotty !!!
100%. My first 3 used cars were all manual because I was afraid the AT would fail and I knew I couldn't afford repair. Then I bought a used car with an AT and lived happily ever after))
I finally disagree with Scotty. I’d never buy a car that was in a collision. I don’t care how good it was repaired or how much money I’d save. Just my two cents.
Scott is past his expiration date. The Corolla is still king, A new one will out last a wrecked honda any day. Not a real world comparison. Paint work won't age well.
Did anyone notice the rpm numbers on the gauge cluster pass the number 2 was not lit at all I wounded if something was damaged with no codes that would bug me.
So a guy buys a wrecked car for 18 grand and you claim it killed the Toyota Corolla. Scotty, I believe you are loosing it and experiencing the onset of dementia.
Depending on the state, the repair estimate vs. the KBB value of the car, insurance companies will just auction the car as a salvage. Most Hondas are almost as good as Toyotas.
Well nothing beats the Honda engines…at least that used to be the case. But their cars are plagued by road noise. Simply put, you just can’t beat Toyotas at their price points. I’ve owned Corollas for almost 20 years. Babies are built like a tank and you can still buy a brand new one for under 25 grand. And even the base models come very well equipped. Scotty doesn’t know what he’s talking about. And this wouldn’t be the first time.

Probably bought it from the person that fixed it. Probably purchased for a good deal at auction
I hope Scotty gets the engine temperature up before flooring customer’s car right out of the driveway like that.
Its insane how modern vehicles have become so big but most don't have spair tires very my 04 grand can fit a full spare
Its insane that this car is roughly the same size as my first car, 1996 accord, and the accord is now roughly the size of a full size Toyota Avalon.
Umm... A 96 accord is MUCH smaller than this Civic... It is not the same size at all. Not even roughly...
@NoReply28 that is the point I was trying to make. It's insane how much larger these cars have become over the past couple of decades.
The MK10 1.0L Turbo charged Civic has problems with the wet belt, some scary stories out there. Was excited when it came out, when I actually got to go and spend my money and asking around, it was a no on that one.
The belt killed me. "In case you are worried about kids"
Civic 2024 starts 35k in Europe. Accord was 13k in 2014. Ridiculous. It'a civic.😊
Scotty Bhai, can you do a comparison video of mileage differences of the same car models with a CVT vs a Torque Converter? How much money do I save in a CVT car on a 1000 mile drive vs the Torque converter car on a 1000 miles?
Scotty, is it possible to remove the electric park brake and replace with an old fashioned brake handle?
How is it new when it is wrecked?😅😅
New to him 😂😂
The people that fixed the car didn’t save the guy 10k. The car was worth 10k less. Always will be.
Must agree. Still got a pretty good deal on a new-ish car.
It's a new car still, not 5 years old. Probably sell for more than he got in 2-3 years.
@@AbidAli-bo8sv be honest, this was a used car. New cars don’t come with front end collision damage. So the car was already worth 10-20% less the day it left the new car lot. and in comparison to the same car that wasn’t in an accident, it will still be worth 10k less.
The car cost 10k less, so that's 10k saving on a new car..always will be.
@@hectorheath9742a car that you buy that was owned by someone else and was in an accident is always a used car. Always. It WAS NOT a new car when he bought it! So he bought a used car that already had an accident. That’s already depreciated and lost value from the accident. No great deal.
Mazda on the side with its arms cross and a smirk. With real transmission and much better engine.
The Sentra is better than the Corolla. I have extensive experience driving both. I don’t know about Honda.
Wrecked cars are not new. What is going on with Scotty?
The man is losing it. I conjecture some form of dementia.
It had 6k miles on it when the guy bought it, it was fairly "new" and was new to the guy. Just Semantics my dude, some of you people look for any reason to attack some on the internet.
@ Legally, it is not new. You cannot sell as a new. Like new is not new.
Hahaha
How is it new when it was wrecked?
Im not so sure you get more power with a regular trans. Maybe a second 0 to 60. I pulled 7 a couple times with the CVT. Plus you dont floor CVT OR INJECTION to get thd best response. You got to learn your peadle preasure. But the Hondas CVTs are having sliping problems. Toyota makes great CVTS 11:41
you should talk about Mitsubishi's motors and cars
My daughter has a 2023 2.0. Fun little car. But I h8 that lane assist. Scared me the first time cutting the apex. 😊
Yes ,it's dangerous. I drove one, I won't again.
You can turn that off.
No color Civic? At least $10,000 more. Civics are $3,000 tops.
We have become stupid when pricing aluminum and plastic.
I remember when they came with a full size spare tire
Buy a Honda and feel rewarded every day! They really are as good as Scotty claims.
Love scotty, but how do so many of his customers find ridiculous deals?
2025 Honda Civic LX new $23,845 or 24k approximately. Not 18k!
This is a rebuilt salvaged car someone got for 18k and is like brand new. The sport model is 26-27k new.
@@therealgeorgegervinjr.2364 It's not like brand new. The front end was in a serious accident.
There's a spare tyre, Scotty's delighted!
In the days of bias ply tires, before radials, you definitely needed snow tires.
I love honda and toyota cars.
I am old enough to remember when people trashed talked automatic transmission the way they trash talk CVT 😂. Yeah, they will get to used to it
100%. My first 3 used cars were all manual because I was afraid the AT would fail and I knew I couldn't afford repair. Then I bought a used car with an AT and lived happily ever after))
It's illegal to not have snow tire in the winter in Quebec.😜
I finally disagree with Scotty.
I’d never buy a car that was in a collision.
I don’t care how good it was repaired or how much money I’d save.
Just my two cents.
*This car is crying for a nice 5 or 6 speed MANUAL transmission, then it would go 350k miles before any problems cropped up!*
i prefer the 2.0 and 2.4 engines over the sohc v6
The problem with that is Scotty has said don’t buy a Toyota cause all of their engines suck so what is it good or no good you can’t make up your mind
Newer Toyota turbo engines are indeed disappointing while older ones are just fine
I am glad they got spares as this summer I tore out the side of a tire on a hazard. And not really anyone I can call for timely recovery.
I’m sold👍👍
Scotty kilmer is the man
I got rid of 1.5t accord for 2.0L civic sport sedan and I'm happy I did. I wish they made the civic sport sedan in manual. Only hatch
Never a CVT
Ok but you lose all your factory warranty, if it was reconstructed!
Yes.
Honda's cost almost 2.5 times more in UK sadly
28k for a Honda Civic ? Get a 2025 Toyota Camry Hybrid for 30k
You can't get a new Toyota Camry for 30k lol
You've seen a 2024 with 600,000 miles? That's impressive.
I think he was referring to 2.0 liter Honda engines
I believe this is a Scotty approved vehicle 😅
So a guy buys a wrecked car for 18 grand and you claim it killed the Toyota Corolla. Scotty, I believe you are loosing it and experiencing the onset of dementia.
Lmao 🤣
Smile.Its entertainment too!
The More Technology, the More the Repairs, who needs a car that will steer itself--MAYBE.
I played this video on my phone as I was driving my Corolla and it just died on me.
nice driving gloves!
Base Honda Civic starts 5000 CAD more than base Mazda 3.
World went nuts.
Yeah but Honda is a much better brand than Mazda.
@@remyllebeau77 lol, no
@@harryshuman9637 Keep dreaming.
@@remyllebeau77 Honda is the new Subaru, and Subaru is the new Mitsubishi
Change the transmission fluid at 25k. Make damn sure it's the right kind.
I have a 2024 Corolla. It rides as smooth as an old-school Buick!!!
I like these videos but how is a wrecked car with 6000 miles on it "brand new"?
Almost dangerously slow af.
Gotta have that spare tire man! 😅
there is no big compare between them only the toreq and engine type and the cost for fixing
Finally a good video I guess Scott not going to flip cars with his son? Thanks for sharing
Depending on the state, the repair estimate vs. the KBB value of the car, insurance companies will just auction the car as a salvage.
Most Hondas are almost as good as Toyotas.
I think the automotive manufactures and body shops are paying kickbacks to have vehicles totaled. 😮
What about a wrecked Corolla for $18,000
Honda Civic MSRP $24,250
Honda CVT>Nissan CVT anytime
Honda join adventure with GM American.
So... The quality goes down drain.
Noo waay
@@idris1446 only for the Prologue. thats a rebadged/restyled blazer. everything else is still a honda product
I HAVE ONE. CVT MANUFACTURERD IN MEXICO.
I remember a time when a new Civic LX would cost about $18k
And gas was $1.80
I got my used lx 4yrs ago for 14.8k with a little over 28k miles. Great deal. No issues only standard maintenance.
Scotty talking about over steer and under steer when he's going 20mph on a side street. That's not even what over and under steer means or refers to.
