0:45: Great slowplay with KK given positions and stack sizes: I think if you jam you don't give villain opportunity to bluff ALSO KK is technically an occasional flat even against a 3-bet, let alone a 4-bet. On the flop, super important not to raise here so we can protect our range from barrels later on, but when the turn brings in the second flush draw this becomes a jam--at such low SPRs, playing to deny equity is more important than anything else. Def running good to make all of the technical reasons to trap come together in this example.
4:52: Standard monkey-in-the-middle on the flop, made even BETTER by the fact Phil is playing so passively pre-flop and can have a bunch of pretty strong hands (AQss?!?). The flop squeeze is great since Turbo has got to be ultra-capped, and having him call preflop probably implies he's got a Q or T which reduces the amount of QQ/TT/QTs from Phil's tight flatting range. Also, having the Js is probably good backup allowing you to bluff spades on future streets. I DO think that this combo should give up on blank rivers but KJ without a spade should jam river to unblock spades, BUT you shouldn't KJo without a spade as often on the top. Very well played.
10:46: After a bet from Phil on a HORRIBLE board and then a raise from Turbo, we have no reason to raise K3dd, I think that will just tip everyone off to you having a nutted hand and there aren't THAT many bluffs in your range here, and it's also likely that you don't need a re-raise range here. Flat is great, and on the turn it's a mandatory check (instead of lead) for the same reasons--you don't really need a flop 3-bet or turn lead against this action multiway on a monotone board. Have the 3d is very sexy here, however, and does increase the likelihood you'll cooler someone. On the river, I think betting 50% probably can represent some air hands, but it's just very unlikely you're going to get much action from worse betting particularly large, though it IS possible the raiser got scared with a low flush after both players called his raise and he wanted to slow the action down, a story that having the 3D really assists with. Overall I think the river bet is a tad large against the hands you're trying to make indifferent (which should be the hands they ended up with aka sets), and the SB call might be a tad loose, BUT we know that multiway we prefer having 5x 4x 3x 2x hands, so in theory this can't be bad if you think you've got talent edges over any of the players.
Really proud of the work you've put in and your trust in the process. Seeing where you choose to put on the gas versus where you lay very sneaky traps shows a lot of growth in your understanding and execution.
sorry guys I wrote this on my phone so the grammar is messy + youtube glitch isn't letting me fix it
On the KK hand, assuming V has an open ended straight flush draw...
V only has 30 to 35% equity there.
Or with a naked flush draw has like 20% equity...
Everything else that can beat us is like 5%.
Obviously we know our hand and don't know V hand.
I know the solver likes to deny equity, so is getting V to put his money in behind just a happy accident of this play?
I was always under the assumption that you want to get the money in ahead and that is the reason we made the turn jam play on double flush board with our set.
@jeffshackleford3152 what is your question exactly?
@@AlvinTeachesPoker is the main reason we make that play to get V to fold ?
I always thought it was to get V to put the money in with bad odds to draw
I apologize, my first run on sentence was a bit confusing
@@jeffshackleford3152we don't care what they do with a draw. If they call off great. If they fold, great.
Donking the turn with the flopped flush is the optimal play in my opinion
but what other hands would he donk with? looks exactly like what it is: a strong flush that wants to get more money in because the board didn't pair haha. it probably works anyways at 1/2 and 2/5 but not against these players
Doesn’t make any sense against capable players
@@mitsevoxthese spots are so unusual that I don’t think you need to be balanced. They just come up so infrequently and never against the same opponents as well as it being multiway. I don’t disagree with you that it seems really odd but your goal in these very unique spots is just to get paid, not play balanced imo
@@mitsevox It doesn't really matter if it looks like a flush; I think most sets will call a 1/3 - 1/2 pot sized bet to try and fill up on the river. Letting them see a free river card and make the hero fold is definitely a mistake.
@mitsevox there not folding the turn. You don't folt the turn to a reasonable sized bet with a set on a monotone flop. 22 might possibly fold last to act but 66 is 100% calling a pot sized turn bet
Congrats Wolf…well-deserved, you’ve definitely put in the work! Congrats on the card house business venture as well…
thanks! i'll be spending most of my weekends over at The Fort now!
I have a huge crush on Lynne!
6:45 “BANGG” missed opportunity
I stumbled upon your channel about two months ago and I've watched every single one of your videos since then, and just now recently caught up - very entertaining! love from Norway! ❤
gotta get out there one day!
Love to see it! Great narrating
appreciate it kevin!
Its been amazing watching you grow as a poker player!
Thanks for coming!!! Sad Phil Laak lost. 😢😢😢
I think for the flopped flush, you’re only going to get the most value is if you raised on the flop. The turn doesn’t change anything unless the board pairs and you have 1 less card for your opponents to pair up. That was a hell of a heater
I really appreciate the redacted stamps for livestreams as someone who watches your videos to improve my game. I know some people might like it and some might not but it's entertaining and helpful to be able to watch a livestream without being able to see the other hands. Just some feedback from a viewer.
A lot of times in those spots with a hand like your flush out of position I’ll flat then lead the turn on a good card- there is no real good solver data for that situation but my logic is that raising will fold out most of the non nut flushes and if you lead like 40% pot you can actually get jammed on by hands you beat. Live poker is tricky though.
MY G!! This is THE BEST CONTENT!! It's QUICK, VERY informative without all the slowed down analysis like Rampage and Brad videos. THIS IS WAY WAY BETTER CONTENT!!! BANG!!! Keep it UP MY DUDE!!!
Congrats 🎉for all the good news. Well deserved from my perspective.
Makes me so happy to see you playing these big games and crushing ❤️
thanks kiran :)
Wolfgang you played like a gangster!!! Nice one!
gangster poker!
I expected a BANG! with that top set flop at 6:35
Videos should be longer it’s never enough 😂
Bang, what a weekend...
I played all 3 casinos this weekend, Alex. I'm talking with GLC to see about a home game this summer. Hope you're up for it...
Congrats ur a very humble guy u deserve it
thanks for the kind words!
Damn son! Thats an awesome win, Wolf! Been watching for a while, my man, great to see you doing well, reaping the rewards of your hard work. Best of luck on The Fort venture, sir!
thank you!
Good to see Wolfgang in the green. Don't go crazy like Rampage and play super high stakes
i might push it a bit this year but nothing super gnarly
@@Wolfgang_Pokerslow and steady!...surely! Tho.
Why not?? Life is for living.
@@bradensmith8170 Rampage was down like 1.5 million or something close to that. I don't want Wolfgang to go down big
@@romanausserdorfer6615 you gotta have 1.5 mil to lose 1.5 mil.
You’re like the Jeffersons man, keeps loving on up!
all i’m thinking is vegas and the mirage 😏
love it haha
U ran great , crazy bluff with 22s at the end, great read on his hand, Idk if I could have pulled it off cause I would put him on AQ, AK, but u was right and u good a good hand to fold
You can’t only bluff when you think opponents have nothing, that’s how you get called with second pairs. It’s when they make it known they have something good (but not the nuts) and you still raise on a good board for you is what makes a bluff look strong. But you actually have to be able to have strong hands when you do this, and also be against a guy capable of folding
What a performance Wolf ! Best video I’ve seen on the channel !
*best video you’ve seen so far :)
Performance? He flopped the nuts every hand. Hands play themselves
Love it when you block opponents cards
thats why you should start mixing in fast plays on monotone boards with made flushes and nut flush blocker
Congratulations on a great 50K two-day run! Hope you keep running good!
you and me both lol
Congrats my friend. Well earned, couldn't think of a more deserving guy!
shucks, thanks!!
wow good job! that is awesome!
Dam good nights bro! Love the videos
Hi Wolfgang! Loving the content (especially the Short clips). Having the King-high flush with so much action in front of you would definitely make me pause before getting too aggressive. Obviously sets make a lot of sense, but people love suited aces. I'd be a little nervous that I was behind given the action. Wouldn't donk-lead the turn so I could get more information first. I'm definitely betting the river though like you. I might've opted for about 1/3 pot to get called by slightly weaker hands, but overall I really liked the way you played the hand. Great session. What a win! Congrats man!
Great job young man👍🏻
That hand w 22 was so good
I think you played that flopped flush well. Possibly a smaller bet on the river could’ve gotten the two players with flopped sets to raise but profit is still profit so gg.
Ohhh man, you would've made a killing against the two sets buuuuutttttt it could've easily gone the wrong way, and the board could've paired. You've arrived where you are playing the way you do, so if you're successful in your style, then play it your way, bro! Congratulations on the win! Hope to get some of your run good on my sessions!
You get an amazing dream sun run spot after all the run good you have had in these sessions and still managed to fuck up the hand by not raising the flop with k3 dd .
When you flop the second nut flush you raise half pot on the turn to get any sets to call or raise, then ship it accordingly
Nice win!!! I think you have to bet somewhat big on your king high flush. To see where you are. If someone has the ace high flush, then you just chalk it up. Someone has to have a set at the least.
when he flipped that 7 5 of hearts against the kings i got flashbacks lmao always seems to be the case with me when ppl raise my premiums and have weak hands they always seem to flop some stupid draw to beat me
Tough spot with the flush, played fine
Bro running hotttt...Let's goooo
Can’t wait to watch😁✌️
Nice to see your poker career taking off. Guess no more 1/2 for you!. When can we see you at Hustlers game buying in for 100k?
Good stuff, congrats 👏🏿
The K3 diamonds hand was difficult to play. I’d say it’s player dependent, as tough as Phil is you may have to 3 bet flop and Bet turn. Obv that’s the play when you see their cards. Overpair with Ad probably bets turn.
Bring all the vloggers buddies to your new club card house to support you in a home game
Love to see it!!!
As an amateur poker player, if I would’ve flopped a king high flush, I would’ve definitely bet hard on the flop to get hands with sets to come along for the ride. Basically, you know if the board pairs on the turn or the river, you’re sunk.
in that k3 suited flopped flush if someone bets you always raise the pot, every time
Hi Alex! Pura Vida from Costa Rica!
Love your vlog! Though, I like your graphics better than these streamed ones from the card houses--the card graphics are too small to see on my phone's screen. 😢
Hindsight is 20/20 of course, but I think it makes more sense to raise the flop with your made flush. The problem is, as you said in the narration, your overcall there is very strong in its own right. What hands would you do that with? Probably just what you have. If you raise there I think it disguises your hand more (you could do that with a queen and ace of diamonds, for example), and it puts you in position to make a bet on the turn when a blank comes instead of feeling like you have to check. The worst thing there is to give a free card on the turn.
What a fxcking two day run, was fun can’t wait to have you back on
your commentary kills me dude!
"wolfgang poker is too ABC to bet the flush card with a set"
(proceeds to raise the flush card instead)
Definitely would’ve donked turn can can be raising often with just the ace of diamonds and check back when called in 3 spots
You’re by far the best poker RUclipsr all time
🚀🚀
You made the right call
Yes poker is really fun when you keep hitting the cards you want. 😅
also hand that 4 way that you flopped top set, betting small was definitely the way you should go. When youre multi way otf solvers are always going to want you betting small. Must have been amazing winning such a big pot vs your hero
3:35 bro on the left reading a book
Definitely running good but you played all of the hands really well. Except the K3♦️ lol.
13:58, I think in the long run betting the flop is good because they'll probably call hoping for a board pair and then put you on missed flush draw thinking you have one diamond once you check the turn.
This actually happens a lot more than you think - tons of action on the flop, then the turn checks thru. You almost have to donk-lead the turn yourself in that spot. It sucks, but that's what happens when you're OOP, you just don't have great options. You might as well turn your hand face up at that point, and just say you're betting until and unless the board pairs or another diamond hits the board.
Raise the turn with the flush
Phil Laak?!!!!! My favourite poker player. The nicest guy in poker.
The hand with the flush at roughly 13:40 i would have bet the turn around 2/3 pot because u know u have the best hand at this point and can still get good money from A flush draw and sets. i mean there was big action on the flop so i think there is good value in doing that on the turn. But correct me if im wrong. Thats just what i thought
Definitely raising flop was the optimal play then small lead on turn to get max value 14:12
Also I think a lot of players are telling on themselves that they fastplay too much rather than give villains room to bluff, especially on wet boards, even after seeing someone punt into your set the first hand. 😂
Dude, you're on fire! There may be next level for some, but you're already way beyond my ability. It's been so fun watching your journey, and I get the sense that you're not only a good guy, but a hard worker. I think you have a world-class disposition for poker! Blessings abound. Well done.
thanks keil! appreciate the kind words!
Well done my friend
Great session
I think im betting smaller on that K high flush river. You would probably get a crying call from one of the sets.
Absolutely you lead the turn with that flush! Given the action, at least one player has a set here and is never folding. That means that nobody is going to bluff with just the Ace. So you can bet, knowing you're only getting raised by the made nut flush and get the set(s) to put more money in; and if someone's else has a smaller made flush you also get all their money.
I think you played the flush correctly. Pretty hard spot tbh. I may have continued checking and tried to get someone else to take the betting lead and then raise for value.
Your karma is gold! Love you bro
I would have play it exactly the same as u did, but ofc, im not playing against legend him self. I belive i would have stuck off my homies from local games if they would have sets on flop. Anyway, great content, as allways. Greetings from Czech republic !
Lets gooooo congrats
last hand check is totally fine just sucks everyone checked back which they definetly wouldnt do with a high frequency.
On 🔥!!!!
Good Morning Young Man
Dude, you won my house this time. Congratulations.
yea u did the right thing counting on would of should of lol take the pot nice run but congrads on ur new card room
huge milestone for me! thanks robert!
id prob bet on the turn light to see where im at
So cool to watch how far you’ve come since your 1/2 days.
For the king high flush hand, I would raise the flop small. Something like 2.5X the bet. Anyone with the naked A♦︎ would call. Then I’d bet 40% on turn and rip it on any non board pairing or diamond river. That’s my two cents.
yeah that would have made infinitely more in this hand. oh well…
You played the flush great, no way you could have known two sets were gonna fold. If anything i would've tried to get into Phil's head to see what he was thinking. Congratulations on the hands with Phil!
thanks donnie! was a weird hand for sure...
@@Wolfgang_Poker I think a bet would've just allowed both guys to sniff you out earlier, doesn't take much with players of their caliber. Congrats
35 hundred would have been a nice squeez on the K3 flush hand!!
You should just check with flush with king high 😂
I'm raising the flop on that diamond flush hand
Not a bad week Wolfie!
not at all lol
“I’m not one to comment farm” 😂 got me to comment, looks like I got leveled
LOL
Hold on a sec.....is that Storage Wars Barry?!?!?
You forgot to Bang the screen with set of 9s lol
Wolfgang can fit a double quarter pounder under that hat.
Wow what a great heater Wolfgang but given how hot you were it seems more crazy that Laak & Tan were able to lay down their flopped sets (6,2) vs your flopped flush hand !!! ;-//? It was tough decision not to raise but I feel I would have proceeded the same way you did in that hand. And the chances you ever run across to flopped set folds again on a board like that in your life would be slim to nil!!!
With the K high flush I would raise on the flop and punish Turbo if he has a baby flush or chasing with the A of diamonds. If anyone has a set they would also chase for a boat. Can’t let them get to the river for free.
Flatting was the right move, definitely sucks the turn check through
Nuts Player alert ⚠️
Very nice win Wolfgang 😅
thanks helen!
Love to see the old pros. That's the ticket 😂
phil laak the legend!
Play with my money and split the profit 😂
Wolfgang is on fire 🔥 🍀 Congrats!
thanks jake!!
Fast play the flush is hard or a donk out on the turn
