I think tankery would be cool irl. Custom shops get to build their own based on WW2 designs. These tanks don't have to be as armored so they weigh less and are more mobile. You get to fire shells that are strong enough to dent the armor but make the noise and clouds of smoke like much larger rounds. The armor is a composite construction with critical areas constructed such that a dent connecting the inner and outer layers releases your disabled flag and turns off the engine maybe activates a smoke system to simulate damage. Battles take part with 5 tanks minimum over a 5 mi^2 area. NRA, Army, gun manufacturers, ESPN, and any other advertisers contribute to the prize pool of >~500k. Drones and mounted cameras along with radio communications are used to give audiences an up close view of the action. GPS trackers can give everyone an overview of the battlefield. Pitch it to the Army Tank divisions as a competition focusing on teamwork and strategy development with potential to scout talent. Pitch it to ESPN as patriotic and cool blowing shit up. Get vets, biker clubs, randos wanting to fire big guns all in the fun. Hollywood can make some urban sets to battle on. Eventually get the Europeans, Russians, and Asians to join in on the fun and maybe even add it to the Olympics xD

Leroy Tan Make that 2000hp then. The only modern mbt with an engine on par with that amount of power is Russia's new T-14. Engine is limited to 1500hp though, 2000hp output would burn away the service life.
Ehhhhhhhhhhh T-14 as you mentioned is capable of 2000 hp and the Leopard 2 could probably be tuned to crank out 2000 hp aswell... Then the grab T-90 and fuel from vodka BOOM 9000 HP CYKA! RUSH B!

I love this anime and movie. That said, based on my experience with and around tracked military vehicles, trying anything even CLOSE to that drifting has a VERY high chance of seeing you spending an hour or two putting the tracks back on your vehicle.
And that's only if you have enough spares for any bent or broken links and/or link pins.
Also you may have to bribe the motorpool sergeant with a LOT of beer if you need to replace roadwheels, idlers or sprockets.

I'd like this to be a real sport. Just gotta use shells that can cause enough damage to blow up tank treads etc but not penetrate to the crew. Maybe have a weaker set of armor that gets destroyed when hit that causes the tank to lock up but a main set that protects the crew underneath. Then you can make movie set like cities designed to be destroyed and easily rebuilt. Tanks get a bunch of drone cameras to create cool shots for the audience. Maybe with lighter armor since they won't have to deal with armor piercing shells modern engines can have these old designs move a fair bit faster.
Uhh... having shells that can tear apart armor, and having the commanders sit right out in the open, is a recipe for disaster,
@@tyler89557 you can have thin sections that just fall apart easy on spots that don't matter. Monster trucks, F1, Nascar, Sasuke, MMA, WWF, Football... we do plenty of things that could result in injury for entertainment

@@N3k0-Arc target shooting, hunting, movie filming, paint ball, airsoft, nerf guns, laser tag. There are plenty of entertainment options using guns and the common theme is respect for the weapon and take reasonable precautions. With tanks you're behind armor so you can launch real ammo just not the armor melting and piercing shells used in real war. In this case if someone were to do the research you'd test armor thickness vs round size, shape, velocity, strike angle and from there you make a minimum spec for the armor and the round used so it can't endanger the occupants but still functions as intended. No one hunts deer with a howitzer nor do they protect themselves from a bear with a bb gun, it's all science.
