As someone who plays i210s I seriously disagree with Hannah that Ping are not known for the tour irons - so what did Lee Westwood play, Bubba Watson, Tyrell Hatton, Victor Hovland etc. Quick google search states that 39 tour players use Ping. What I think Hannah meant was that Ping is not known for blades, sure it has made the iBlade and BluePrint in the recent past but that is about it (there was an i3 blade launched around 2000, but it looks more a cavity back to me), Ping tour players have usually played one of Pings cavity back irons (i210s were popular, as were S55s and S58s) With that gripe out of the way, these irons are what I love to see, maybe the 5i is a bit small for me, and from the video clearly a very true performer. I am not looking to change my i210s, but I am now really tempted
I know tour players use the irons but they are not know for tour models in the same way other brands are known for their blades and CBs. i230s are still very much a club golfer iron which I would compare to like a P770 which I wouldn’t consider a tour specific club. I guess I should have made that abit more obvious 😅
@@hannahholdenNCG I do think your argument is a bit muddled - I completely accept that Ping has not been known for making blades/MB irons (for the simple reason that for roughly first 40 years Ping did not make a true blade) but, at least according to Titleist, only 30% of tour players play those, the other 70% play cavity back irons, the style of iron which Ping is known for creating, it is that style of iron which is at the heart of Ping's iron history, a fact that most knowledgeable golfers would know . I do agree with you that the i230 is an odd one. I think Bryson currently plays them but you are correct it is not known as a tour iron whereas the i210s which it replaced were well known as tour clubs that ordinary golfers could use. It would be the i59 which was the Ping cavity back tour iron before the Blueprint S. Anyway back to the video - great and honest summary from Hannah, you really helped clarify for me that the S is an i210 replacement in the sense that it is a tour players iron that ordinary golfers can use

Ahh, you wore your mic in a place where we couldn't quite hear impact due to your clothing rustling. Damn. But great review and commentary. Keep up the good work. As a former PING S55 player, I've already ordered these sight unseen.
Hi Hannah, would these Blueprint irons be good for mid handicappers? Im trying to figure out where the cutoff is. That large cavity makes them look more playable.
I think it would vary on the person. If you are trying to gain distance possibly not but otherwise I think it would work! I would always just recommend people testing them and seeing how they get on.
Ping are making some fantastic irons at the moment, Would I swap from i230 maybe from 7 iron but the 230s are superb with same lofts probably not worth say £170 a club possibly £190
Great review Hannah. Would be great to see you get a fitting for them. I play i230 and they have been really consistent delivering a great flight, some workability and distance is strong.
I have the i210s, looks good at address, not too much offset, loads of bounce, but I'm not sure if I generate enough clubhead speed to get the most from them tbh.
I like the i210s because I believe they are the last Ping irons without the screw in the toe. That screw throws off the looks to me. Makes me think game improvement iron, and not players iron.
Not sure about not associating Ping with Tour players? Viktor Hovland, Tyrell Hatton, Lee Westwood, Bryson De Chambeau, Tony Finau, Louis Oosthuizen, Harris English, Mackenzie Hughes, Corey Conners, Cam Champ, Mito Pereira, Sahith Theegala amongst others might disagree? Oh…. And probably 50% of the women’s tours!
I know they have tour irons and players but I don't think it is what the general public know them for. They are publically percieved as more of a game improvement brand.
Because having lots of material in the hosel pulls the centre of gravity higher. By cutting it out, they can put more weight lower in the head and optimise launch and spin better.
Helps with bending the hosel for loft/lie adjustments. Also helps the club head get through rough more easily (allegedly, haven't seen any independent testing for that)
Ill stick to my BECU Eye 2 'plus no plus' 2-SW thanks. Cant beat the Eye 2 plus in Nickel, Steel or Brylium Copper. Ping's best selling irons of all time!
@@hannahholdenNCG How much further does your seven iron go compared to Eye 2 plus seven? With the new clubs, how tight is your dispersion? I bet it's tight. My front to back dispersion on my Eye 2s could be better, but I still love them. My forever clubs. Thank you.
Hannah why on earth would you game these when you only have a swing speed of 75-80mph with a 7 iron. You’re more suited to those tm QI irons. You’d only carry them 130 yards with a 7.
@@cwugrad396 I game the same irons old blueprint, you need a quicker swing speed. It’s no good. Put the ego in the bin and game a more of a distance iron. They’ll be no difference in yardage with a 4 5 & 6 iron for her.
Because I value accuracy over distance and the smaller soles give me way more workability and control of a variety of lies. My swing speed is usually low to mid 80s in summer. It was very cold in this video 😅
I've been using the s55 ping irons for about ten years now and would look at these if it weren't for those stupid screws in the toe, why put those on a players type iron? Guess I'll stick with what I have.

Time to ditch the 4 and 5 iron and get the 7,9 fairway woods ……love the tracksuit by the way 👌🏻
A 9 wood would be fun 😂
My 7 wood was exceptional. My mates used to laugh at me till they tried it themselves. Was only a cheap Ram club but it was amazing...

I think I should get these! Are they still doing the i59s? I am sure Ping have plenty of irons on tour. When did Fitzpatrick win with these?
Still doing i59s as far as I am aware! He had a combo set of these in the Alfred Dunhill when he won earlier this year
Great video Hannah how many new ping irons are there.
There are two new Ping irons, The Blueprint S that you can see in this video and the Blueprint T which are a smaller blade iron.

Which set specs/lofts were you testing? Standard, power or retro? 😀👍🏻
just standard!

agreed!
I hope you review the new i530 irons , coming in April..they don't look as chunky as the i525..
Very Happy i230 player...
The money amateur golfers waste on ''new'' golf clubs always amazes me. What most people need are lessons...
Love my G710 irons. Lengthened and power spec loft has me hitting it like I was in my 20s, 30s and 40s. 58 now and blasting irons. Just sayin...
nice! I haven't actually tried the power specs but they sound good
reminds me of my old i210s? similar or are those a bit less forgiving?
Smaller than i210s, feel better but a tad less forgiving
I think the i210's are still quite popular amongst the male and female tour players, think Viktor and Westy still use them.
Yes lots of tour players use them but not as relatively popular among club golfers

Just wondering HH why do ping irons have that cut out bit on the back of the hosel I think it looks horrid
