Just seen this at at the Sammy Miller museum and someone told me to check out your videos. So glad I did as I’ve just bought a Super Meteor to restore. I’m loving the bar position and the sound.
You were riding like Bob McIntyre as well Paul. I have to say it does sound lovely and that exhaust note just spurs you on to naughtier things. Does sound a bit low geared though. Great video once again. Many thanks!
Working on old British bikes and riding those roads pure bliss thanks Paul. Ps every time I drive those roads I keep looking for old British bikes as it might be you 👍👍
Hi Paul , I'm Newish to your Chanel, but could tell this was a special ride by the way you put the gloves on , I would have been excited too . Many thanks for all your videos you have made me a brit bike fan again
Exactly what my Constellation does and why I watched this video. Misses 2nd to 3rd regularly..is it a know issue apart from Albion boxes being plagued with “i know its in there somewhere syndrome”
Nice bike, great sound. Would be good to see it on display and doing a demo lap at the Bob Mac races at East Fortune (if we ever get back to pre-covid normal).
Thank you, the owner of this machine was kind enough to loan it to me for a while, after I finished the restoration work, which had been started before it was brought to me.
Tks for the ride🤗 Engine responded very well!. I had one Constellation in late 60,s. Only thing i didnt like was the metallic sound from engine. My other british bikes didnt have that and in yr video i hear it too. Was it a phenomenia for the 700 cc engine :-). The most beautiful engine of them all (excluding Vincent)
I own a few Enfield twins ...700s and 750s. They all have a similar sound. I think it's partly because of the long push rods and valve geometry as well as using a timing chain rather than gears.
One senses that, like a race horse, it does not like to 'mope' about, but wants to be ridden 'in anger'...at 3/4 to full throttle. Can you, as you pilote it about, feel thatyearing ?
Paul Henshaw the Royal Enfield Interceptor Owners UK group is active plenty of us modifying our bikes and debating what works best it’s like being a teenager again.
Such a shame that the big Enfield's were never held in such high regard as the BSA, NORTON and TRIUMPH? They were always troubled by the Royal Oilfield nickname, which in lots of cases was undeserved, but mud sticks as they say. Give my right arm for an original Mk2 Interceptor!!

Wow that goes a bit! fantastic, Bob Mac was a brilliant rider, up with the best of them
What a cracking machine. Sounds lovely and goes really well. Nice one Paul.
Glad you like it! Thank you very much!
THat sounds really sorted, a beautiful machine. Clearly, a quick bike in its time.
Thanks! These were the Hayabusas of their time!

Thanks! The riding part of the job is a huge perk, but sometimes, some machines can drive me close to tears!
Sweet. I’ve seen you over this run, dozens of times by now. Here’s one for the top five. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed!

It feels as if I know that route well just from watching your videos, thanks.
My pleasure!
Bob McIntyre, my idol back in the, an incredible racer.
Sounds fantastic. Also, you've got some nice roads there.

Goes like a bomb!
Nice machine , gets-along too Dave nz
I thought These were great bokes but I only had the 350 . What was the front brake like ? better than a twin leader ?
The double sided brakes can work very well, but only if properly set up and in good condition.
You must be a well know figure in the neighbourhood. No one even looks up when a Meteor goes by. I'd stop in my tracks!
Thanks! It was a privilege to ride such a special machine!
Honest officer I was only doing 5mph, my speedo doesn't lie!

Where can I get these handlebars?
Apparently they are from an NSU Quickly moped.
Search for "Ace" or "Clubmans" handlebars
cool!!!
Hope you don’t mind Paul I’ve linked your video to a couple of UK RE owners groups on Facebook
No problem - which ones?
Paul Henshaw Royal Enfield Interceptor Owners UK and Royal Enfield Owners UK.
Ah - I visit the RE owners UK FB page sometimes.

pardon my ignorance - was that just one carb on there?
Yes, just the one.
Nice one Paul , are all these bikes yours ?
Thanks! I wish! - Many [most] are machines I work on for their owners.

They were much better than the myths that abound, that is for sure!
Tidy
Thanks!
