I think this reflects society’s younger population/and or largest audience and consumers of content’s innate desire to seek hedonistic practices such as gooning for hours, maybe days at a time. It portrays this message through ai edited minions who appear to be transformed into juiced up freaks of nature, which to the younger population of the internet appeals very much, due to instances such as Sam sulek. Having this said, the minions are wearing shirts with the words “never goon”, “anti gooner”, and more signifying that they vehemently oppose the practice of gooning. Therefore, the majority of the audience is in accord with the message “never goon” since the bearer of the message is somewhat of a role model. The best guess for this is that humans often times acknowledge the self destructive practices such as gooning as often times fun, which is why so much content on the internet is made around the joke. Then again, the message contradicts this rhetoric, therefore the audience collectively goes against the practice of gooning. The only answer from now is that in a society, the smarter individuals will heed away from hedonism and turn to superior philosophies such as stoicism, absurdism, or an orthodox religious one. A common characteristic of these philosophies is that the most pleasurable sensation of sex is somewhat if not very sacred, and to masturbate is to abandon many other rules of the belief, let alone gooning which is far worse in these terms. In conclusion, it can be said that this video in some way is a propaganda for the audience to rebel against hedonism, which is on a second plane of thinking, natural.
