Adama,Starbuck & Boomer did the right thing to cheer up Boxey by having him spend the night with the fighter pilots so he wouldn't have to get so worried and upset while trying to find his father, Apollo.
A bowl cut? Because it's the simplest haircut. Place bowl and cut. It's been ubiquitous boy's cut throughout the ages. It's just a trope like filling every boys room in entertainment with every conceivable boyhood object imaginable, or having them missing one parent for sympathy. Also at that time short hair was uncool, and long hard was still controversial so it was the happy medium. If you look up class pictures around 1978 you will probably not find many other cuts for under 6th grade. If you account for various stages of growth, curl, parting or appalling home-cuts that is pretty much the only cut for boys. Boys with buzz cuts were almost considered freaks and would have to deal with kids constantly touching their hair, and saying things like "my balls itch," or being called baldy. After childhood boys generally tried to grow their hair out and would sport more elaborate cuts like disco hairstyles, and various proton-mullets if not just letting their hair grow out to full length.
It was the haircut of most boys in America in the early 70's. That style was common among boys between 7 to 10 years old. My son and all his friends wore their hair just like that from about 3rd to 6th grade than they started wearing their hair a bit shorter.
Boxey: "Give me a cigar Starbuck". Starbuck "Hey, cut down on those kid, that's the third one you have had tonight". Boxey: 'I don't care, my teeth are already yellow". Starbuck: "Ok young fella, off to bed with you". Boxey: " Ha, ha ha, I get to sleep with Cassiopeia" Starbuck: "Looks like I've lost every hand tonight".
Watching this as an adult I'm wondering if Starbuck rigged the game so Boxy would continue winning, so he would stay happy and not thinking about his father. Starbuck may have been a womanizer and arrogant, but he knew Boxy looked to him and Boomer as Uncles, so Starbuck did everything possible to live up to that role in Boxy's eyes. Boomer knew it too and did the same for Boxy. Despite always being a happy an energetic kid deep down I think Boxy was traumatized by his mother being killed by the Cylons and worried that Apolo one day would leave on patrol or a mission and never come back.
Hmmm. I have to wonder... if Apollo hadn’t make it, how long would Adama have tolerated his newly acquired “grandson” wandering around the bridge all the time. Me thinks it would’ve been off to the orphan ship for Boxey.
No, it was the episode "The Lost Warrior" where Apollo had to crash land on Equellus, a wild-west type planet, where he eventually had to duel with a damaged Cylon Centurion called Redeye, who was used by a corrupt politician to bully the townspeople, and they all were afraid of Redeye. He would kill anybody who tried to hurt him, or his corrupt boss, LaCerta. VERY satisfying when Apollo fried Redeye! Great episode!
I would love to see, after all these years, each of the actors come back, even noah Hathaway, and replay these scenes as adults with all the same lines, with the name Battlestar Jeriactica, where all the retired colonial warriors go....

Happy 76th Birthday to Richard Hatch! Forever Apollo! (May 21, 2021).
Boomer: “It’s only fruit juice”
Giles: “He’s the one that’s winning”
Starbuck: “I’m not letting him smoke”
Classic moment. Gotta love it!
I forgot about this episode. Him beating them at cards was too cute/funny!
why did every television child have that exact haircut?
i remember my dad saying much the same thing 30 yrs ago!
🤔 Maybe there was only one star hair stylist? Lol 😂 Or it was just going viral without internet ...

"You're eating your bet." LOL! 😆
Awww this is making me gonna cry Noah is so cute when he was little and as Atreyu I love Atreyu so much
Hollywood's golden child... he got to sit in Lorne Green's lap on camera and call him Grandpa... then became Atreyu 6 years later.
Boxey: "Give me a cigar Starbuck".
Starbuck "Hey, cut down on those kid, that's the third one you have had tonight".
Boxey: 'I don't care, my teeth are already yellow".

Atreyu from 1984's "The Neverending Story"
remember how in the remake he appears in two episodes and is never brought up again
Starbuck before the ...um ... change
Funny scene, and Laurette Spang really was gorgeous, and always kept Starbuck in line.
Laurette Spang McCook has the same birthday as my beloved mother.
Aweee baby Noah!! Can’t wait to meet him in July 😍
He’s so cute!

Loved the show as a kid. Was about 6 or 7 at the time. Didn't realize I'm a week younger than Noah
I had no idea the BSG remake series carried over the polygonal media format from The original series
Loved Battlestar Galactia growing up. To bad it only lasted one season.
Even though I loved the reimagining, they confused pyramid and triad. Sloppy, sloppy 😜
Boxey,With Starbuck
Quit Stalling Starbuck, Are You Gonna Bet,or Not?
Quit Stalling,Starbuck, are You going to Bet,or Not,
Can I Grandpa?
I'd love too have a kid like him! He's sooooooooo cute!
Totally. He’s so special.
Why Noah Hathaway left early after 14th episode? What happened? Anyone know?
He grew up super fast und became Kent McCord, that's what happened! 😁
Good episodes of Boxey.
loved noah antes y ahora.
So cute baby
To think that he was my age at the time. I'm actually 7 months older than Noah Hathaway.

Oooooh, I don't think so, Adama was more than proud to be a grandpa! 😍
I hate how they portray talking to children, in such a patronizing way!
aunque es un gusto poder verlo con el que no recuerdo su nombre también en the neverending history
What has happened to Noah Hathaway, who portrayed Boxey during the 1st season of the original Battlestar Galactica series?
Have you looked on IMDB?
@Stesilaus Did u know he also became a dancer for Michael Jackson. Even starred in his pepsi commerical
He's 7 months younger than me.
He's in his fifties now...
That was pretty funny😃when I first saw this video I thought the name of he movie was boxy lol battle star galactic was the name😃😄😤😆
Is this from Experiment In Terra?

No, it's the lost warrior with red-eye. Apollo ran out of fuel, landed on equellus.
and.... the kid that played Boxey in the re-imagined Galactica with Edward James Almos,.... just was NOT as cute.... that's just the way it is...
Boxey and Muffitt were so unnecessary to the show 's plot.
I would love to see, after all these years, each of the actors come back, even noah Hathaway, and replay these scenes as adults with all the same lines, with the name Battlestar Jeriactica, where all the retired colonial warriors go....
Many of them are gone now.
@@BrotherDerrick3X sadly, yes
Lame character
