My very first impression of Oksana was a strong MM look here. It suits her. but skating- shes all Oksana ! This was a marvelous routine for her. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it and its obvious she enjoyed giving us an unforgettable performance.
Oksana here is demonstrating the greatness of Sara Kawahara's choreographic mind. Most skater's can't handle the complexity---but Oksana could. Great skater & great choreographer = magic. No wonder Baiul wanted to work with others rather than just Galina. This shows what a wise decision that was. Kawahara is the best Bezic, Galina & others should take note & bow. Seems Sara kept it simple for Kwan, Hamilton & Cohen who were supposedly greater than Oksana. Not.
As a pro skater Oksana's legs weren't as strong as they were in the Olympics. She needed the discipline of world & Olympic competition. But they wouldn't let her reinstate so she did the best she could as a pro. They always went after her gossiping & promoting her as failed, troubled, worthless & of poor character. But keep in mind this is an abandoned kid who fought her way out of & thru poverty, competition
She choose to remain pro in 95 to make more money and thought competing in another Olympics would be too hard. There's even a video on RUclips about it.

I really enjoyed watching her growing up. Her name, I guess for my era of watching, is the one I first think of. Where and what is this competition? I’m catching on watching all kinds of old skating videos lately that the Olympics is the least creative 😆. The lights and tv is cool, so trendy for the time but it’s still entertaining & pretty today. So her! I think I liked her so much bc she was like a pop star with expressive costumes & creativity.
I wasn't under the impression she was 'competing', she was performing a beautiful skating routine... she competed at the Olympics and won GOLD, she doesn't have to prove anything
