- Radiohead - Wake Me (Before They Come)
On August 24th 2008, this song was played at the soundcheck at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. It is nicknamed 'Wake Me (Before They Come)' because of the use of that phrase as a chorus, but the actual title is unknown. This excellent quality audio clip of the third verse was kindly made available for this website by the taper, atease member hoserama. The song apparently begins slow and then builds up.
This is one of the nicest unavailable songs on earth.
not for long
Bjørn B It’s a feeling we at ANIMA know only too well
@@0_0wg problem: no wake me up before u gogo... i mean they come. solution: Dawn Chorus. it's so easy!
@@bjrnb9042 Turns out Dawn Chorus is some other song. Back to square one.
@@PursuedByAMemory To bad. Only comfort is that the new Dawn Chorus song is great, as is the album.
We really do need the whole song.
Is this not the whole song?
I think that the album in this style would be amazing, connecting warm tune with maybe hard rock style...
for LP10: this, Open the floodgates, Skirting on the surface, Come to your senses, Riding (Dodging) the bullets, I lie awake, Cut a hole
andrea black and i froze up
Twisted Human I froze up, Follow me around, Dogwander are goods for b-sides...
andrea black i agree but I Froze Up is a good deep cut of Radiohead i think
easy masterpiece
@@adude3050 that's a thom Yorke song
I love the slowness of this. Reminds me of some lo-fi shoegazy stuff from the 90's like the bands Duster or even My Bloody Valentine to a certain point.
Dorianflawz Good to hear!
Dorianflawz Well in regards to Duster some members started a new band called Helvetia. Check out their album The Clever North Wind. They don't really sound the same, but they are good.
Also check out these bands:
Flying Saucer Attack
Spiritualized
Spacemen 3
Hum
Mercury Rev
Red House Painters
American Music Club
Windy & Carl
The Verve (listen to their debut album a Storm in Heaven. That album is freakin' AMAZING!)
Really though, most of the bands I just listed are mixed in with Dream-Pop and Shoegaze, so they all won't sound exactly the same as Duster. Duster were very unique, but they straddled the same lines as those other artists.
Dorianflawz Oh yeah I forgot to mention the album Yankee Hotel Foxtrot by Wilco. That album was one of the biggest indie releases back in the day and it's very lo-fi. Also pretty much any album by Guided By Voices. I'd check out their album Bee Thousand. Then there's Departures and Landfalls by Boys Life and finally, There's Nothing Wrong with Love by Built To Spill.
You might like to look up the lo-fi genre and check out some of those artists. You'd get lost in the rabbit hole with just that one particular genre. Indie rock all blends together in some way. That's why they call it indie rock 101. There are certain bands you must listen to when first getting into this stuff. Guided By Voices are one. There's also Dinosaur Jr, Sonic Youth, Sebadou, R.E.M., and countless others.
I discovered all this music by myself in college. One of the best things about college is discovering cool new things like different kinds of music.
I hope you enjoy the music! Sorry for such long replys.
Dorianflawz I got to see them once with Dinosaur Jr. Great show.
I was thinking this sounds like duster as well, amazing band.
Was in hospital had my headphones on looking for some Radiohead to comfort me just found this I am peace
Sounds like Scatterbrain, but this one has a different feel to it. Awesomeeee
I need more of this song
Kind of reminds me of All I Need, with a smidge of Fake Plastic Trees thrown in for extra spice.
DuckyShed *extra spice*
This would make a great opening to one of their albums
I am feeling it more as a closer.
been dying for this. kind of reminds me of that PH song "I got better I got strong"
lurgee
so calming...
Wake Me Up (Before [Merlin] Beggars takes this video down)
There is not a studio version of this song, thats why Merlin beggars havent taken down this video
It’s actually a mistype, he’s actually saying ring me
Come on Radiohead you cast iron geniuses. How can you let this not be released as a full song? (or is it too similar to someone else's song?)
Why was this not on In Rainbows?
Because In Rainbows is perfect
@@Teeheehee093 this song is too
@@Teeheehee093 this song is better than the whole album
reminds me of 'give up the ghost'
whats up with this ?? its so good, calming
Reminds me of Galaxie 500
please be on lp 10
it's not on LP9 ;;
I was devastated. LP10 though
It sounds more like ring me rather than wake me.
0:29
I wonder who "they" are?
lp10 pls
Is this a cover?
shades of Bread, the Carpenters, maybe Neil Young even
Sounds subpar for Radiohead. Probably better left alone unless then can flesh it out.
