Legendary Album.
This is filling a void I didn’t know I needed filled. It’s like “At the heart of winter”+“Nordland“.
I must have listened to this album at least 25 times. Still gets me to release adrenaline, and to sing along, even though I don't speak Finnish. The previous one (HAVULINNAAN) is also amazing! Check that one out too, folks!

This is my second favorite black metal recording I have ever heard. From start to finish, nothing but interesting and exciting music. The ox-blood vinyl version is beautiful, Heidi Kosenius' artwork is haunting and wondrous at vinyl-size. For a long time I thought nothing could best Moonsorrow's "V. Havitetty" in progressive folkish black metal, but that is now #3 after this... These guys deserve more listeners and recognition.
Good choice, V:Havitetty is the best and most intricate metal album ever imo.

Finnish black metal is really awesome-this is the last finnish BM band i discovered after Goatmoon, Horna, Behexen, Moonsorrow, Clandestine Blaze, Beherit, Satanic Warmaster, Sargeist, Baptism. Awesome band

I listen to this everday. I can't get over quite how superb these guys are. There is nothing that they have put out that's even average. Just fantastic to listen to. I agree with Robert Smith, that is also well well worthy of a listen.

This album might be my favorite album... well, ever! Every single song on here is a MASTERPIECE (personal favorite would be Verikuu), I can't praise this enough in just 1 lifetime!

I have correct the title translation here...
"Kelle Surut soi" actually means: "for whom the woes tolls" to be more accurate, there is a little wordplay going on here.
"for whom the bells tolls" = kelle urut soi.
"to whom the woes tolls" = kelle surut soi.
and even I'm not telling you the whole truth ;)

Thanks Antti, it is indeed wrong. I will fix that, but the band back then told me, that it is roughly translated as "For whom the sorrow sing". But I guess its quite hard to translate it directly.

"surut" is plural of "suru" = sorrow, woe, grief pick the one that sounds best.
The wordplay i explained above is lost in translation and for understandable reasons.
The Stormcaller = Myrskynkutsuja.

I bought this album on "Ox Blood" vinyl from Bandcamp a couple years ago... The presentation of the album was noting short of amazing! Musically, It's pretty awesome, The only bands that I can think of who do similar things, and can compare it's awesomness, are Nokturnal Mortum, from Ukraine and Nihil from Albania.
Just a feckin Masterpiece - being from Poland I have rather high expectation to my metal - This band is on their own level - never took a shortcut, there is no bad note, nor hiding behind blasting drums sound, feck even the crazy fast maniacal drumming is perffect and interesting and has feeling - super good taste. I'm starting to understand Finish words - whats more may one wish for hehehe knowing Finish and Polish - sorted.

Truly a masterpiece of an album. The stand out for me is Vainajain Valot. At that 1:34, that scream and just the whole atmosphere, it is something else. Then 1:56! WOW 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 A whole album with that same energy would just be 🤯🤯🤯
