Good to see that Sony hasn't embraced notches of any description as a "feature!" 😉 When you were showing the video comparisons, all I could focus on was the awful notch on the Pixel XL..also good to see that Sony has abandoned those weirdly placed fingerprint sensors on the backs of their phones.. Maybe, very soon, they'll opt for one under the glass?
I really liked these 10 series, i like how they pushed very good stuffs into it ignoring that trend putting newly expensive chip just to make it slightly faster, plus Sony Sony is a noun company to squeeze the most of the chips and batteries with their software optimisation, the only thing missing in this phone and my opinion is the stereo speakers.
I sort of understand what you mean, but in today's world, people just want things faster! Better performance! This phone will probably appeal to die hard Sony fans.

I would have that as my secondary phone anyday! I'd give one to my kids as well. Not really for my needs since I love shooting pictures but other wise, I'm loving it all.
I hope your kids are over 18. Kids these days or any days do not need an expensive cell phone. They almost always end up in the water or a repair shop.
Looks interesting. I think Sony have made a wise choice to try a different design that no one else is doing. It's vital for them to stand out and be different while catching up to what everyone else is doing if they have any hope of turning their mobile division around
Looks like Sony is stepping up their design elements after a decade of "box" phones. This slim design may be very appealing to those with small hands. Cheers

The other speakerhole on the phone is for the microphone. You'd think that most tech reviewers would know this since the iPhone has been doing this since 2007.
Isnt the one you called a dummy speaker is actually the microphone? Which is why there’s no sound coming from it. Just like the iphone, you know. But I love the design
@Rhett Oracle- it is a matter of taste, I really miss the "old box" design. I still have Xperia XZ and one of the reason i still hold it is the design, which I find very unique-with rectangle shapes- if we compare it with other brands and models. XZ2, XZ3 models were a design "disaster" with a very cheap look. Right now i'm looking to buy XZ 1 or XZ Premium due to same reason, classic design with no additional curves. In my opinion Sony should stick to the old design as it is something which gives a special SONY aura.
I have the XZ3 and it feels good in the hand. I find the location of the fingerprint scanner bad but I wouldn't consider the design an overall disaster. I have the XZ Premium too. As much as I'm a Sony fanboy, I can say that the omnibalance isn't really working out as it failed to attract consumers. I prefer the Sony Ericsson designs and I hope they try it again in their phones.
1. Is it not splash resistant or splash-proof? Is it safe to use in light rain or accidental trip to the sink? 2. Does it have support for Apt-X bluetooth ? How clear and loud is the audio when connected with bluetooth headphones? 3. The speakers seem loud on camera. But it doesn't distort at full volumes? No bass to it? 4. Camera shutter as quick as an iPhone or Galaxy S8/9? Need a full camera review please Dave - dynamic range, sharpness, contrast, low-light, over/underexposure, stabilization (front & rear camera), lossless zoom (if any) and also how clear is the audio (stereo or mono? bitrate?) Are the cameras wide-angle lens? 5. Screen any good in direct (on indirect) sunlight? 6. Did you say what was the minimal storage? 7. What update did you received and any improvements? 8. How long did it take you to fully charge up to 100%? 9. Memory management any good? Phone able to load the app instantly? 10. Screen on time please? 11. Did it have any pre-applied screen protector? 12. How speedy is the fingerprint scanner vs other phones?

There are three things that do not fit in that phone: The battery (2870mAh), the SD630 processor (having SD660 and 710 that are a benchmark of the middle range) and RAM, only 3Gb, this figure is three years ago and today the standard average is 4Gb or 6Gb (like my Xiaomi Mi A2 and 128GB of internal memory, with much more battery and at a very low price, compared to this Xperia 10, which is almost twice as expensive to me Mi A2) 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️📱
