I made one small framed boat in my life. I went through the same thing…..a lot of mock up, break down, mock up again…..It’s good that you take your time to get it right and do things over if your not comfortable with them. Keep at it……..you will end up with a boat that you understand completely and can repair or modify easily.
Well I hope I don't have to do any repairs or modification, but you are right I will have the background if needed. There were some steps that were more challenging than others but bit by bit it's coming together. Appreciate it.
I struggled with my first Stitch and Tape until I was told to use a plane to cut a 45 degree Aris on the inside edge about half the thickness of the ply. without it its almost impossible to sit the ply edges evenly against each other. That and like all timber ply has a memory you can induce, so bend nearly to shape stitch it then walk away for a day or two it will bend the ply to the right shape, then come back and tighten stitches to bring in to place
Yeah I expect a lot of lessons I can say about the first stitch and glue when I am done. List seems to grow by the day, but all in all it's going to work out. The small pieces of pipe do help a lot to help the ply line up properly. My issue is I didn't take the time as you suggested to let the ply ease over time. I had to get it done in a hurry. So, I am going to pay the price over time, but I believe I have corrected the impact of that misalignment now. Let's hope so. Thanks for the feedback.
@@Bigeaux20 its almost like you have to build two the first being practice ;) Careful its addictive I am finishing my 3rd boat and have already bought plans for number 4. I have a very responsible desk bound job I usually have a boat being built in my workshop as therapy.

I don’t see an open beer anywhere. It’s a crucial hack to smooth boat building haha
Been on a diet so no beer. Supposed to aid in clarity of thinking... But, there are other calming products.
