I've always personally understood that the CCP wanting to annex Taiwan was more based on the fact that those who fled there way back, did so in escaping the CCP and remain outside of their control. It's more of a personal stain on the CCP ego than anything else. It's also an issue for them if there's ever a revolt in China in the possibility of using Taiwan as a beacon against the CCP not being as great as they force their people to believe.

@@robmyers8948 technically the US has been doing that for a while now since it seems China is also eyeing Japan, India, and the Philippines which also have had US military presence around those regions for a long time. im just curious why cant taiwan be invaded or bombed or occupied? what makes taiwan so special and any different from all the other countries US has invaded and bombed in the last 20,30 odd years i mean lets not go all the way back 80 years to the end of wwii....
why is it ok for iraq or afganistan or syria or yemen or libya or yemen or the recent fiasco in gaza or sudan or pakistan or lebanon or bosnia or somalia or kuwait (all countries were invaded and bombed after 1990).....killing about 4.5 million people and causing the suffering of hundreds of millions possibly even a billion.....
why does USA care so much more about 20 million chinese in taiwan but not the 1.4 billion....
actually im curious what makes USA determine that hundreds of million of lives disposable and ok to sacrifice but not others?and dozens of countries ruined?
it depends on whether it suits her foreign policy and global agenda or geopolitical goals?
is it so bad if China just invades one country?when us has done so to so many countries in the last 20,30 years alone.....especially China isnt invading anyone else, just herself....China is invading China, after all both of them consider themselves CHina and calling taiwan the real china is like calling florida the real USA. really lol.

Only an armada of US F-22 and F-35 could save Taiwan . Nothing else. First of all the distance between mainland China and Taiwan is not that much. So the US and Taiwan would not have the leverage of fighting at a distance. Secondly, the way US is bogged down with being a world police force, it cannot use all it's naval capabilities to stop China. Sadly if the armada does come up then a lot of innocent Chinese live would be lost. Even in that scenario it's hard to think the US would win. If China mobilizes fully US would not win. But an alliance with India could mitigate the weight for US(Cause Pakistan won't get involved anyway). It would give them time to think. All in all, if China wants to take Taiwan, the ball is in China's corner.

And don't forget the missile submarines lurking somewhere in the western Pacific. Big decision for Xi.
