Instant star? More like instant flash in the pan! She was good in this but never really went anywhere. If she was only 17, how did they even make this film with the under-age labor laws? Kind of disturbing as the old men seem pervy!
she totally could have though, like ewa was an amazing actress but her agent sucked. if she had a better agent at that time then she most likely would have become a very well known name.
I know its a product of its time but the film is hard to sit through, especially after me too movement, let alone make me laugh. The girl who plays the bimbo can't act and is very boring to watch. A very bad film all around, can't believe all these great actors are in it. Sex comedies can be charming and cute but this one aint it.
Not intended to be a sex comedy (nor cute) but satire; attempting to make statements on American society, not always successfully. At least the film has character, which cannot be said about many Hollywood films made after the 1980s. Screenplay was written by Buck Henry, featured in the video, and he had an excellent sense of humor; there were some genuine laughs, As for the actress, she perfectly played the part that was called for. Much of Walter Matthau's praise for the young lady rang true, despite his flawed prediction of her becoming a major star.
The movie could have been great with decent writing and less rape.

Tavistock?
I find her terrible in it.
Matthau looks like he's going 2 pounce
Guess she needed a better agent back then...and better writers for her persona.
Talent wasted on B-movie roles.
She also got married at 18.
Ewa Aulin is really cute and beautiful even by today`s standard. However, she fell into oblivion after "Candy".
For Walter Matthau to declare that Ewa Aulin was going on to great stardom......
Was everyone on this picture required to take acid?

The movie bombed..
That's all she wrote
"The movie bombed" is the legend, but in reality did fairly well at the box office, particularly outside the USA.

Despite the all star cast, one of the worst films of all time.
