The founding fathers were secessionists. The declaration of independence literally says that secession is a basic human right. Abraham Lincoln was an evil atheist and closeted socialist who personally condoned crimes against humanity. When George Washington wrote in his farewell address about the need for the people to overthrow the government in the future, the tyrant he was talking about was Lincoln.

The "Battle Cry of Freedom", aka "Rally Round the Flag", is a song written in 1862 by American composer George Frederick Root (1820-1895) during the American Civil War.
In speaking of Lincoln it's on right now Showtime chnl. 559 TWC, and it was at the part of Lincoln's story of Ethan Allen's visit to England and the best part the part of Washington's portrait in a "water closet" and that "Nothing will make an Englishmen shit quicker than THAT sight".

Yet another example of how the North and South used each others music. Being from Louisiana myself, I prefer the Confederate version but what the hell. I like history.
Although he may be poor, not a man shall be a slave. We fought a war to abolish slavery. The most brutal war in American history. More men died in 3 days in Gettysburg than in the entire Vietnam war.

Bruh I was listening to civil war songs and one of them had a confederate flag and my dad saw it and got mad at me even tho I hate the confederates lol
No need to be crude. You claim to be Bible scholar...perhaps you should study a little harder. You'd come to understand that Christ came to fulfill the Old Testament and that in every book of the New Testament, the only slavery referred to was that of a Christian's total and complete submission to God. Christ was the fulfillment of the Old Testament by his submission of His will to that of the Father. He came to serve, not be served. The claim that Christ would have supported or condoned the sale of human beings like animals is not only wrong, its blasphemous.
@FatAss I think you're confusing "Indentured Servitude" with "Chattel Slavery". It's an easy mistake to make. Indentured Servants were like un-willing employees (as you say, usually working to pay off a debt) but they still had personal rights under the law- IE: if you killed one of your indentured servants, you were still guilty of murder. Chattel Slaves on the other hand (Chattel is the old legal word meaning "personal property") were purchased from a slave trader the same as you might purchase a cow, or a new hat. And just like that cow, or new hat, the slave was your personal property to do with as you saw fit. If you felt like killing your slave for example, it's not illegal to destroy your own property. Another key difference is that usually an indentured servant was only a servant for a certain amount of time, or until their debt was paid off, after that they were free to go live their lives. If you were a slave, then you were a slave until you died, or escaped or your master decided to free you (which did happen, but rarely). I hope you can see there is a big difference between the two. I was going to be a history teacher at one point, so I know way too much about this stuff. :)
While I doubt Jesus would have cared too much for slavery, I believe the verse referenced is talking about the southern cross aka confederate battle flag.
And though a man be poor, let he never be a slave! Shouting the battle cry of Freedom!

A lot of songs actually were called by different names when played on the fife and drum, so both names are correct.
