@@swarm232 If you listen to Cortex you'll find two explanations there (well, more, but here are the main 2):
1. He doesn't read the majority of his email, and if an email looks to wordy he skips it as well. He has an assistant go through most of his contact stuff and forward him things of interest.
2. Much more importantly, Grey is not a social guy. Going to cons and meeting people there is about as taxing as he wants to get, and he has to prep himself for that. He doesn't want to meet fans out in the wild, and he hates even his baristas recognizing him in coffee shops.
Edit actually the second point comes up more on Hellointernet, since Brady is the opposite of him in that regard.
At the end

Grey: I NEED TO KNOW
@EmperorJuliusCaesar The guy that this whole video is about. Since this whole story about Staten Island is centered on this one person and appears to be nothing more than a fairy tale to begin with Grey wanted to know for sure if the guy, Christopher Billop, even existed to begin with. It can be hot out and still rain.
That is what happens when it is 100 degrees with humidity in the northeast...
Heat -> increased evaporation -> thunderstorm
It is very common in the northeast to have massive thunderstorms during extreme heat. It will usually bring in cooler air.
“Extreme heat”. Bit odd considering that New York doesn’t go above 100 degrees....
Finding the graves in the rain at the end was awesome man. It’s like a ghost hunting type deal but with real spirits in the form of vague stories of the past. Love your videos man, you will be an American hero in your legacy because of things like this!
Im looking at the wikipedia edits of that page since this video went up and after over two years of no edits theres a gigantic edit fight over the info hahahaha.
(And yes, Grey did actually delete that text on the page)
Is this how we can track down Grey's IP?
Alex M uh-oh
You can see that in how bipolar the text is.
“According to one version of an oft-repeated but apocryphal tale[22], Captain Billopp's seamanship secured Staten Island to New York, rather than to New Jersey: the island would belong to New York if the captain could circumnavigate it in one day, which he did. This story is most likely untrue“
Numerous times it states he both did do it and that it’s a myth.
@@adamboh393 It's essentially saying, "This is what the popular myth says and this is how that myth supposedly secured the island for New York, but it's probably not true." It's not saying he both did and didn't do it.
