"…that's four better than Plan Nine." Spit out my iced tea upon hearing that little quip! Nicely done, Sir! I am still curious as to the first eight…

Just paying tribute to the most underrated writer/director/producer of the 20th century. I have no idea what the first eight were but if Plan 9 was to raise the human dead, then getting to 13 must have involved raising pets, insects, vegetation and possibly animals from the Jurassic. Mr. Wood should have made some sequels. The mind boggles at what they would have been like. Dave

When you expanded the image size to fit the room didn't you lose your scale?

      Hi,
Yeah, the I did lose the original dimensions but that did not bother me because I felt it would just give me wider curves. As for items like turnouts and the turntable (which I am not using) it would be a small matter to just put the right size turnouts over the larger ones from the expanded plan and the just reposition the new stuff to where I wanted and how it would right. In my case I only increased the size by 11% or so.
From looking at the original drawing, I would say that the turntable is 12". The other data I have is, 68 foot mainline run, 24" minimum radius, 2% grade and #5 turnouts. I am going with #6 for almost everything except for an industry here and there. The original plan is from the June 2007 issue of Model Railroader and is also available in the 2013 issue of Model Railroad Planning. That issue is on MRs 25th anniversary DVD.
      Hope that helps,
      Dave

Hi, looking to find out how to take a track plan from Model Railroader website and put the image to AnyRail.

Hi Robert, Here is what I did. I clicked on "SAVE" down at the bottom where it says 'Problems opening this file? SAVE to your computer instead.' This will save4 it as a PDF. I then opened the PDF in my image software, in my case, Paint Shop Pro 2020 Ultimate, while making sure that I told the program to change the DPI from 72 to 300. I then cropped the image and saved it as a JPG. Then made a surface of the right size in AnyRail and imported the picture. Any interest out the on a video on how to do this?
      Dave

Now this is what I was asking about in whatever video I asked about it. Your secret plan to increase views becomes clear. Shuffle logical order and make it a treasure hunt. OK.

Donald, no secret plans here. I'm not that clever. I sorta make them as the subject pops up in my mind. When the day comes that I run out of ideas, I plan on going back and re-doing them all in a more logical order. I may also make a PDF instruction booklet and put it on my Steam Powered Radio website.
